We got engaged on February 9, 2007. We are planning a wine country wedding for May 25, 2008. I am an media supervisor in San Francisco and my FI runs his own finance website www.marketflavor.com. We're happy and in love and awaiting our future together.

Umm that's all :)

We met through a mutal friend at a concert in Los Angeles. We both went to the same college, were both Greek, and had common friends but never met until after college.

An Engagement Story

How He Proposed:

It was the weekend before Valentine's Day. We had a trip to Mendocino planned to celebrate V-day the weekend after. I knew a proposal was coming. We had talked about it, shopped for the ring, etc. I honestly figured it would be the next weekend, but as you will learn I was wrong.

At work Aaron, the FI told me I he had a surprise for me that night and to make sure to get most of my work doen because I would be tired on Friday and not feel like doing it.

He picked me up from work and our dog was in the car. I think to myself why is the dog in the car if we're going out. I get in the car and he tells me that we're going out of town the next morning, but he won't tell me where. The dog was with us to be dropped off for boarding. I try and try to get it out of him all night, but he won't budge. I honestly figured we were going to Vegas or New York. Oh how sweet of him to plan a surprise trip. He had coordinated with my office to get me both Friday & Monday off of work.

The next morning we wake up and get ready to go. The cab shows up early and Aaron goes downstairs to start loading the bags. I come trailing down the stairs with my carry on in hand ready to go.

To my astonishment there is no cab, but a limo. WTF I think. Before I knew it Aaron is down on one knee purposing. I don't even remember what he said, but I do remember saying yes. My special surprise trip was a trip to Paris for 4 days to celebrate our engagement.

I was on cloud nine the entire weekend and what better place to be. I couldn't have asked for a more amazing weekend with a more amazing man.
I hope my wedding will be as magical is our engagement!

I love Mark Schnieder designs. I picked the setting, Eternity, and FI picked stone. The stone is a square radiant and is not round like the pic.

Love It!

I had no intention of buying so early, but I truly fell in love with it. I wasn't going to try it on, but did based on the suggestion of my bridal consultant. I bought my dress at Bridal Galleria and truly loved the service I received. I loved it because it was real. I didn't have women oohing and awing telling me how great I looked when the dress was awful. Talking about how beautiful my ring is and showing all the other ladies. I work with sales people all day and have a keen sense for when it is genuine and when it is crap. It's a Lazaro Fall 2007. I can't wait for it to come in!

Here's our preliminary cake design. It's hard to tell but we are going to alternate between hexagon and round shaped sections. We will have an embossed pattern with gold dots on the hex sections and detailed scrolling with metallic fleur de lis on the round sections. It's so hard to imagine when it is just on paper.
Flavors will be chocolate/banana, strawberry cheesecake, and raspberry chocolate mousse.

Inspirations

We will have kings tables for close family. We will have mixed cansiter setups running down the table similar to this.

Here is what I have purchased for my "vases"

I also purchased these cork votives to accent

This is the inspiration for my bouquet. I love the colors and how organic feeling it is.

Save The Date

We're going to do a "program" held together by a grommet. It will be delivered in a brown box. Inside is a natural linen paper. The invite will be wrapped in a chocolate ribbon with a piece of dried lavender tucked inside.

Invitations
We worked with Smashingcards.com to create our beautiful invite. We continued with the green, brown, and ivory color scheme from our Save The Dates. The invite and inserts are all letterpress. We got a great deal on the letterpress. The outer wrapping is silk dupioni with a moss riboon accent.

I bought these robes for my girls to wear when we go to the spa and when we are getting ready in the bridal suite. I want to get something embroidered, but I am not sure what yet. I also want to get a cute zipper pull to customize it more.

Cost = $17 each at Target.

I also bought jewelry boxes to present their bridal party jewelry in.

For our honeymoon we will be spending 3 nights in Rome and then departing on a 12 night cruise of Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean. We're hoping to do a day trip to Florence during our time in Rome since we've been there before. We used miles and will be flying Business Class on British Airways.

Originally I was very turned off by the idea of a cruise. FI and I are big travelers and love road trips, backpacking, etc. But after our last trip to Europe a cruise seemed like a great way to travel, especially in Eastern Europe, without the headache. I can't wait to explore all of the amazing stops.

FI and I will return to our favorite location for one of our anniversaries, probably 5 year.

Itinerary

15-Jun Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

16-Jun Cruising

17-Jun Mykonos, Greece

18-Jun Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey

19-Jun Rhodes, Greece

20-Jun Limassol, Cyprus

21-Jun Cruising

22-Jun Alexandria, Egypt

23-Jun Cruising

24-Jun Piraeus (Athens), Greece

25-Jun Cruising

26-Jun Naples, Capri, Italy

27-Jun Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy 4:00 AM

Butterfly Release

According to an American Indian Legend - If anyone desires a wish to come true they must first capture a butterfly and whisper that wish to it. Since a butterfly can make no sound, the butterfly can not reveal the wish to anyone but the Great Spirit who hears and sees all. In gratitude for giving the beautiful butterfly its freedom, the Great Spirit always grants the wish. So, according to legend, by making a wish and giving the butterfly its freedom, the wish will be taken to the heavens and be granted. We have gathered to grant this couple all our best wishes and are about to set these butterflies free in trust that all these wishes will be granted.

- Work is advance. There will always be a bump in the road and the more time you give yourself to overcome it the less stressed you will be.

- Over estimate postage. The post office does not have their prices standardized very well. You want to avoid having your invitations returned because someone else feels it was different than the person who accepted them.

I love BCBG. I always seem to find a great deal on the dress I want at the outlet or on Ebay.

Here's the dress I'll be wearing to my shower in Los Angeles
