I was never one of those girls who thought about my wedding, growing up. So, this "wedding planning" thing, is all new. I have no idea of what I want. Decisions are a big deal for me anyways... And now for the last few months, all I've done is make decisions, about one of the biggest and most memorable day of our life. My FH doesn't really care about the wedding planning, he just wants to "show up, eat good food, drink good drinks and have a hell-of-a-time". So in a way it make it easier for me. Most everything is done in a sense, we have booked all of our big vendors and just starting to finalize the details. I'm looking forward to some DIY pojects now.
One decisions that was easy to make was, the man I'm going to marry. He is the hardest working guy that I know. He is not only eye candy, but has an amazing personality. He is very witty and finds humor in everything. We were blessed with a little girl, 2 years ago. By getting married now, we are putting a seal on our commitment for each other and our family.

A few unprofessional photos...
For me the wedding dress wasn't going to be a big deal. I started off with a really low, probably unrealistic price limit. That has all changed now. It is true, you will know the minute you have the dress on, if this is the dress for you. I had been liking a Mori Lee dress, even tried it on four times at the store here in town. When shopping out of town I even tried it on two more times, but some reason I still hadn't bought it...so it obviously wasn't the dress for me. I decided on this mermaid/trupet, style dress. It does have some similarities to the original dress, I thought I liked, but much sexier. It is a Sottero & Midgley, style # SSM5154-JK, I went with a diamond white, which is different then the ivory I had thought I wanted. I won't be wearing the lace over jacket, thats not really me. It does have the corset back.
**UPDATE**
I was having a really hard time finding someone that I trusted to alter my dress. I bought the dress two hours away and didn't really care for the owner/alterations lady at the store that I originally bought it. I wanted to buy off the shelf, because our date was getting close and everyone wanted a rush fee of $80-100, and I still wouldn't get the dress until April or the first week in May...No thank you!! For me that was taking on too much stress, along with everything else. Anyways, back to the alterations....One lady said she could do it, but never even had me put the dress on. I wanted the hips taken it just a bit and the top, not just the bottom length. May be she was that good!! She didn't even need to see the dress on me. The top layer of my dress has all the lace and beading and bottom of the dress has many layers of tulle and an average length train. Oh and the other thing, she couldn't give me a price...not even a ball park? The next lady I went to was horrible.....I'm not an anxious person, but I think I had an anxiety attack when I got out to the car. I didn't know if I should cry or throw up! She had me put the dress on and she was obviously overwhelmed with the bottom tulle layers. She took the back train of my dress and flipped it up on my back and said, "We could do this", when refering to the bustle......No thank you...and you're not funny! I met with a fantastic lady at the other bridal store here in town. I knew by talking with her that she knew what she was doing and I could trust her. I have learned to trust my insticts on people over the years. Everything she did was thought out. The bustle required multiple ribbons, so she color coded them so they are easier for the person doing the bustle. The lace and beading that needed to be cut and brought up, looks like it was never cut, you could never tell. The dress now looks like it was made for me. I knew I loved the dress when I put it on...but now that it is perfect and fits like a glove, I can't believe I bought it the way it was. The only thing left now is to have it spot cleaned and steamed.
***INSPIRATIONS***
I love the bright springy colors and decided to do that for the wedding. The colors will be tangerine orange, bright pink, and hints of lime green. Our ceremony and reception will be outside in a lush green setting. I'm hoping the colors will look nice.

This bouquet has accents of colors. Rather than just light pink, also adding in peach??

This picture came from Sarahinwonderland, I love the way the water and flowers look with the rocks...very delicate.
I plan on having a candy table. Its such a wonderful idea. The guest will be busy having appetizers, drinks and making their favors, while we finish up with pictures. I haven't decided if I want to have only white candy with our colors as the ribbons on the jars. Or if I will go with pink and orange candy and alternating ribbons. I'm still in the process of collecting jars. Thinking about making a sign that reads: "Sherrod Sweet Shop".

I'm unsure what our signature drink will be. I'm only having beer, wine and champange. I don't plan on offering liquor, except that I would like a signature drink. One drink I have in mind is a rasberry lemonade, I had it at the Hard Rock Cafe, it was tasty and refreshing.
Raspberry Lemonade
Sweet and Sour
Bacardi Lemon
Raspberry Syrup
Frozen Raspberries
These drinks also look great.

One of my bridesmaid is the most amazing cooks and very creative. I swear she is better then Martha Stewart and Betty Crocker together. She will be whipping up (she makes it look easy), some of her delictables for our dessert bar. I'm not a big cake person, I personally would rather have chocolate dipped strawberries and other moist cakes without the frosting. So our wedding cake will be small. I'm thinking two tiered, with the bottom layer being tall, then a small top layer. We were given beautiful matching toasting glasses and serving set for Christmas, so I feel like we should have a cake to cut.

I love this look with the glass votives under the cake stand from, its.nicknack. We have gone with a round cake but I am thinking I could still get a square piece of glass, votives, and the plastiv fake lights.
All of the girls will be wear a different style dress. The colors of each dress will be the same tangelo color, by Alfred Angelo. I have been alittle worried about the orange color for the dresses... until I seen this picture. I think the bright orange color looks nice. The pictures of the dresses for the girls don't show the true tangerine color, on here they look more golden or they are of a different color. Our dress colors are similar to the pictures below.
My MOH, is my beautiful sister Chesney. She will be wear style #7006. The length will be above the knee. Her dress has the corset back, which really shows off her curves.
Amy, my always in style, best friend since 7th grade, will be wearing style #7002.
My crazy, wild, always gonna have a good time, girlfriend Cathy is wearing style #6541, it will also be knee length. This picture is the actual color of the dresses the girls will be wearing.
My wise, yet cuts loose on the dance floor friend, Janet, is wearing style #7048. (Some reason this dress wouldn't change to Tangelo on the internet.) Her dress is the same color as the other girls.

My friend Binkie, who can out do Martha Stewart and Betty Crocker without trying, is wearing style #7016.
Larry's sister Krystal will also be wearing a dress of the same color as the bridesmaids. She will be greeting guest, having them sign the guest book, giving them a program, water and sending them to the ushers. During the ceremony I hoping to have her help get all the flowergirls and ringbearer down the aisle.
Shoes from DB called "Marly". I hoping to find tan/nude color shoes for the orange dresses. I seem to be having a hard time finding camel/tan/nude color shoes. They all have a wedge and very chunky, not as dressy. We might have to settle for silver or a very muted silver color. Price is also an issue, I would like to keep the price down.
I love crafts, but its alittle different when the pressure is on. Our wedding is less than 3 months away and I still have a lot of DIY projects. I'm trying to weed through and decide which are most important to me.

***WISH TREE INSPIRATION***
As we begin our journey
A brand new Mr. and Mrs.
We could surely use
Your advice and good wishes.
Jot down a memory,
A
reminder of the day.
Draw a doodle or picture
If you’re not sure what to say.
Share with us your wisdom
About marriage, love, and life,
The secret to being a good husband
Or a thoughtful, loving
wife.
Give us your words of love or fun
Next sign your name,
And pop it in an envelope
Once you’re done!
I would love to create either a wish tree or an anniversary tree. I'm hoping to gather pictures from all the married couples who will be attending our wedding. Take a copy their wedding picture and make it black and white, write their names and wedding date on the photo in the corner and hang it from a tree. I think people would love seeing everyone elses photo.
Welcome!
We're so glad you came
We'd love to have you
sign your name,
And write perhaps a line or two
By which we can remember you.
Then when our wedding day
has passed,
Our memories of this day will last.
For when we look at it we'll see
Kind words from friends and family.
Please write down
your wedding
advice and wishes,
and hang them
on the tree
for the new
Mr. and Mrs.!
***TISSUE PACKET INSPIRATION***
Here are instructions for the Joy packets: 1- I used 12x12 cardstock in hot pink and wine. I cut the paper in quarters, so I had 4 pieces of 6x6 paper. I then cut it according to the measurements below. 2-Then fold according to #1 in the picture below. You should be folding about 1/2" of "flaps" inward. Unfold them, and proceed to fold step #2 upward. Keep this folded upward.
3-Fold according to #3 in the pic below.. then fold in all the "flaps" inwards. If you desire to have ribbon on the front, punch those holes first, then put your ribbon on. Also, you can cut off the "flap" that shows at the top of the packet. Then fold the flaps inward and glue (I used super glue that works for paper, make sure the label for the glue says paper). This is seal the packet, and you can place anything on the front, and place the tissues inside. Please PM if this doesn't make sense.. it's hard to put directions into words! :D
*Some of my DIY project*
This is a photo of our guest book. I used almost all of our engagement photos and people signed it like a year book. Lots of compliments on it. I used MyPublisher, through Costco online. It was very user friendly. I did make the largest one they had and added pages. It is huge and did have too many pictures, but I really love it.
My mother, MOB is wearing this dress. The picture doesn't do it justice. It looks fabulous on her. She went with a light, pale yellow, sheery chiffon color. I do hope the MOB and the MOG feel like they are beautiful.

This is the dress that my soon to be Mother in law will be wearing, and the actual color. Its a beautiful dress and I hope it looks good on her, I haven't seen it yet.

Our daughter Gentry will give Larry away. She will be 2 1/2 years old at the time of the wedding. I'm hoping to have them walk down the aisle together at the start of the ceremony. Our nieces, who are both 3 1/2 years old, will walk down the aisle together and toss petals. Then on neighbors son, who is 2 1/2 will hopefully pull the wagon with our youngest niece, who will be 1 years old. I would like to have her in the wagon with an umbrella. On the back of the wagon there will be a sign that reads, "Here comes the Bride".
FlowerGirl Gifts:
DIY Name bracelet with pink crystals, hair ties, tee shirts that reads: "Petal Pusher", stickers
Roman will be our ring bearer. The place we have rented our tuxes through is charging the same amount for his tux as they are for the adults. I think that is too much. I will be looking to purchase a tux for Roman, he won't match the groomsmen, but he will be adorable no matter what he has on.
Ring Bearer gift:
Camo tee that reads: "Official Ring Guard" or
Tee shirt that reads: "King of the Ring", and ceramic football bank, stickers.

Our rehearsal dinner is being planned by my FMIL. They have rented a room at the Pines Club house (Racine Center). The dinnner is also a "Thank You" for OOT guests that come up before the wedding. Invites for the bridal party will read:
Practice makes perfect,
It’s true what they say.
Please come for a run-through,
Before the big day!
We will meet at Gale Vineyards,
At 3:30 p.m. on the dot.
Where Amber and Larry,
Will soon tie the knot!
After the practice,
When all is said and done.
Please join us at the Racine Center in Magalia
For dinner, drinks, and fun!

The invites for the OOT guest should be slightly different, because we don't need them to come to the rehearsal, just dinner. So, I'm thinking of having the invites read something like this:
"eat, drink and be married. Before they say "I do" let's raise a glass or two... Please join us at the Racine Center In Magalia on Friday, May 29th, 2009 at 5:00pm for a dinner honoring Larry and Amber.

I'm thrilled about our engagement photos. We did some family pics, then took some of just Larry and I. Bill and Kathy, who own Chameleon Photographix, did a fabulous job. Larry, who hasn't really been excited about anything regarding the wedding planning, loves the photos. For me the pictures and memories of our day was the most important part. I purchased the engagement session copyright and probably will do the same for our wedding pics.
Larry and Amber's Wedding May 30, 2009 Officiant asks the one(s) escorting the bride: Who gives this
woman, Amber in marriage to Larry? Both mother (Rebecca) and father (Michael), to walk Amber down the aisle. Welcome: Good afternoon and welcome to the ceremony that will unite Larry and Amber in marriage. With the horizon our only walls, the sky our only ceiling, and the earth our floor, we meet here in nature to
celebrate their union, and to honor their commitment to not just gazing at one another, but to looking outward together in the same direction. Today Larry and Amber proclaim their love to the world, and
we rejoice with them. If any of you has anything to say that might change their minds…they…don’t want to hear
it. However, they do want to hear from you. Each of you are here, on this important day, because you bring something special to the lives of Amber and Larry. Some of you have known one or both of them for years - and some of you are meeting one of them for the very
first time today. But whether you're an old friend or a newly acquired relation, you have a special place in their hearts. Likewise, you have a special
purpose. As beloved family and friends, each of you has played some part in bringing them to this moment and in various ways will continue to support and contribute to their relationship. It is you, with whom they'll share their happiness. You will watch their marriage mature; you will watch their children grow. And when hard times come, and the loving support of
friends and family is needed, Amber and Larry hope to be able to turn to you, just as they will turn to each other. Do you, the family and friends, promise from this day forward, to encourage them and love them, and to help
guide and support them in being steadfast in the promises they have made? If you agree, please say, “We, do”. Vows and Rings: It is love that guides us on our path, and to celebrate as you begin this journey together it is in this spirit
that you have come here today to exchange these vows: Before you exchange rings and vows, I’d like to remind you
what the Bible has to say about love: *May we have the rings please? (he holds the rings for a bit) For thousands of years lovers have exchanged rings as a token of
their vows. These simple metal bands, have little real value, except in its use today. They are made precious by our wearing of them. Your rings say that even in your uniqueness you have chosen to
be bound together. Let these rings also be a sign that love has substance as well as soul, a present as well as a past, and that, despite its occasional sorrows, love is a circle of happiness, wonder, and delight. These words are gone as I say them, but as I say them, your
lives are changed forever. Larry, as you place this ring on Amber’s hand, please
repeat after me: “I take you Amber to be my wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, for as long as we both shall live”. Amber, as you place this ring on Larry’s hand, please
repeat after me: “I take you Larry To be my wedded husband, To have and to hold, From this day forwar, For better, for worse, Fro richer, for poorer, In sickness and in health, To love and to cherish, For as long as we both shall live”. May beauty surround you both in the journey ahead and through
all the years. May happiness be your companion and your days together be good
and long upon the earth. With the support of your families and friends, by the vows you
have made to one another, and in the presence of God, it is my pleasure to pronounce you for the first time, “Husband and Wife”. You may now seal your promises with a kiss! Ladies and Gentlemen, I am pleased to introduce to you Mr. and
Mrs. Larry Sherrod.
“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all
knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not
envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes,
always perseveres.”
I'm thinking about putting my new intials on the bottom of my shoes in blue crystals. I was planning on wearing cowboys boots. I love that look and its me!

It says:
So happy you're here to share in our special day,
But should something happen to go astray,
Please help yourself to the contents within,
Wet wipes, hand lotion and even asprin,
Use only what you need and leave the rest,
It may also be useful to another guest,
So repair the damage that may have been done.
Then hurry on back and enjoy the fun.
So happy you're here to share in our day!
But should something happen to go
astray,
Please help yourself to the contents within,
Wet wipe, hand lotion, and even aspirin,
If your skin feels dry, your hair out of place,
Your hose have run, or whatever the case.
Use only what you need and leave the rest,
It may also be useful to another
guest,
We've put this together to help you along,
Now get yourself out there before the next song!

I love the sparklers!!!! We have been to a wedding were they did the sparklers as their exit, it was beautiful and very fun for all.
I'm planning on taking some boudior photos for my future hubby. The book of photos will be presented to him on our wedding day.
**Update** I did my boudior photo shoot last night. I took my sister and she helped alot, reminding me to hold in my tummy, arch the back, how to look, etc. We went to a photographer that mainly shoots children and families. I felt very comfortable, since we have gone to her for years. I did some semi-nude maternity photos...but that was very different. I wasn't trying to be sexy!! I haven't seen them yet...a little nervous. I had to be creative with the possing, so I hope there are enough photos, that I can tolerate, so I can create a book.

*The real deal*
This is the cover of my book, that I made for Larry.
I have read that some brides would like credit for their ideas. I have done a really poor job of that. I will try to provide due credit to brides, since that is important to some people. As for me...I don't care. If you see a post or idea that you like, please feel free to borrow, or steal!!! If its on here...its for the taking. I have enjoyed looking at all the ideas and inspirations of other brides. It has gotten my creative juices flowing, and I have tried projects that I would have otherwise, never attempted.

This incredible day would not be, without the many of you who have had a hand in helping us create it. We are honored that you are here to share with us this magical day in our lives. Thank you is not enough.
VENUE: Stanford Oaks Winery/Gale Vineyards
Steve and Creasia Gale- They have been great to work with. Steve is a "hand-shake" type of guy. The grounds for the wedding are very nice outdoor/garden setting. Price is reasonable. The bridal room is very small to get ready in. I would recommend.
CATERER: Roots Catering
David and Kelly Gomez- Disappointed with their service. Did not follow through with things that they said they would do. Staff was very young, inexperienced and unprofessional. The food was good, not excellent. Would NOT recommend.
WEDDING COORDINATOR: Your Perfect Day
Naomi Ticknor- Very neat personality, fun to work with. She is always willing to help. I would recommend if you really thought you needed a coordinator. I would need to be part of a wedding that was done without a coordinator to see if it went anyless smoothly. Its seems like most vendors are experienced enough and capable of coordinating the day.
PHOTOGRAPHER: Chameleon Photographix
Bill and Kathy Scheer- They take great photos, they really capture the emotions. I haven't seen all of our wedding day photos yet. I was thrilled with our engagement photos.
MUSIC/DJ: Hot Rod Entertainment
Rodney Harrah- Low stress, very easy to work with. Very professional and did a great job with music selections. He prices were very reasonable and lower than some of the other names in town. I would recommend.
VIDEOGRAPHER: Blue Lab Media
Brent Holland- Enjoyed working with Brent. Fun personality, easy going guy. Looking forward to viewing our video. I would recommend.
FLORIST: Fuller's Paradise Flowers
Tony (owner)- She is amazing. Her prices blew all the other florists quotes out of the water. Always willing to help and doing extra. She actually allowed me to borrow items...for FREE!!! Unheard of!! She did our wedding and rehearsal dinner. I would recommend.
DESSERT BAR: Mrs. Daniel's
Loyanne Daniels (BM)- A good friend of mine. She had her own business before moving up here. I really think she should get it going again. She made all kinds of chocolate dipped strawberries, pretzels, cherries, marshmallows, bite size cakes, etc. The caterer said they would display it to have the WOW! factor, but they didn't. I would recommend.
CAKE: Cakes by Patty
Patty- Very tasty cakes and famous for her cheese cakes. The frosting looks like fondant, but it isn't of course. For some crazy reason she really wanted to put fake flowers on the cake. That was clarified with her along with NO filler flowers (baby's breath, etc.). The day of the wedding, the cake ended up having baby's breath, that was a disappointment. The glassware was returned 3 days late. My family had spoken to her just a couple of days after the wedding and she stated to my family, "NO, Rush" in returning the glassware. She never mentioned needing it sooner or that there was a 5 day return policy, inorder to get the deposit back. So she did not return the deposit. Seemed like a poor customer service decision on her part. I probably would not recommend for a wedding.
HAIR: Styles by Dawn
Dawn (owner)-She was awesome. I have been going to her for a 4-5 years or so, to get my hair done. She met us a the hotel before the wedding. Did most everyones hair, including all the flowergirls. Everyone was thrilled with their hair and her prices were great. All the BM were very happy. She came over to the wedding and helped pinning flowers on the guys, and making sure little things were done. During the wedding the youngest flower girl, Laci (1yrs) fell asleep, so Dawn held her. I would recommend
BRIDAL SHOWER: Gooney Bird Restaurant
Dana (owner)- The food was delicious. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere to it. They were will to work with the girls on the prices of menus. Very easy to work with. I would recommend.
GLASS RENTAL: A&J Party Rental
Its a pain when you have to rent anything yourself, especially for a wedding. I didn't know that I would be charged extra for returning the glasses dirty. I assumed that was what the deposit was for, since it said cleaning, damage. No, I was charged more. I would recommend not assuming any responsiblity for the rentals. There is always going to be added charges. Glasses get broken, misplaced, not fully cleaned.
A huge bunch of us girls went up to Reno for the night. It was alot of fun and good memories. It was the typical "embarrase the bride" type of party.
