Rodrigo and I met at my place of employment. I was his son's preschool assistant teacher. At first we had a teacher parent relationship that soon turned into something else when he started walking me to my truck after school when ever he would
pick up his son from school. On the last week of school he asked me for my phone number. I gave it to him, he called and that same weekend we went out on our first date.
Rodrigo is always leaving me love notes with flowers, everywhere and
anywhere. I have a drawer full of them. This is one of those notes with a picked flower and a piece of chocolate.
Rodrigo proposed after three and a half years of dating on a Valentine's Day weekend getaway to San Diego. He proposed at our favorite restaurant in Old Town San Diego with a mariachi group playing a song at our table. He pulls out a small box from his pocket and his exact words were "Will you be my wife?" Of course I said "yes!" This is a picture of us at the restaurant the night we got engaged.
We took our engagement pictures at the Santa Monica Beach. We went during the week after work and it was getting so late and dark by the time we got there. It was cold that day too but I think the pictures came out great. Lots more engagement pictures under bio photos.
Our wedding shower was held at the home of my brother and my sister-in-law. We had a couples shower. Rodrigo and I wore our bride and groom t-shirts. The wedding party also wore their t-shirts that I purchased for them with their names and either matron of honor, bridesmaid, best man or groomsmen on the front. We had lots of fun playing games, eating and opening our gifts. We even had a section for the kids with a jumper, toys, coloring activities, and I also had wedding shower goody bags for them.
Our rehearsal was on the day before our wedding at the church garden. After the rehearsal we headed for the Sir George's Royal Buffet Restaurant for our rehearsal dinner. We had the banquet room reserved for our rehearsal dinner. We gave out the bridesmaids and groomsmen gifts to our wedding party that night at the rehearsal dinner. Once again we wore our bride and groom t-shirts and the wedding party also wore their wedding party t-shirts to the wedding rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner. We had a wonderful time.
Our reception was held outdoors under a large tent. It was catered and held at the Santa Anita Gardens. The venues decor were statues, bird baths, and flowers gardens through out the reception area, perfect for a garden theme wedding. The food was great and it was the perfect venue for us. Lots more reception pictures under bio photos.
We spent our wedding night at the Arcadia Hilton. The hotel was wonderful and clean. There was a bottle of champagne waiting for us in our room. We had a great view of the pool and the mountains from our room window.
We went to beautiful Santa Barbara for our honeymoon. We traveled by train which was very romantic and relaxing. Our hotel in Santa Barbara was one block from the beach, from the train station and from State Street which is the famous main strip for dining and shopping. In our hotel room there was a bucket with a champagne bottle and two champagne glasses with a congratulations card from the hotel staff. We went on the trolley city tour, we rented a two seater bike, we went to the beach, we visited the Mission, we went to the famous Santa Barbara Pier but, most of all we relaxed and enjoyed being Mr. and Mrs. Rodrigo Salazar, finally.
We would like to thank our family and friends for joining us on our special day. Thank you for all your prayers, love, and support. It really means a lot to us. Thank you to all the ProjectWedding girls for your help, inspirations, and support. Thank you to everyone for visiting and checking out our wedding biography and pictures.
We did our trash the dress photo sesson on our actual wedding anniversary for our anniversary pictures. My husband and I took the day off from work and met up with Kristi and Paul who were just wonderful and fun to work with. They drove us around beautiful Laguna Beach and the photo session took all day because we wanted to get the sunset at the beach but it was so worth it. Kristi took so many pictures and Paul did the video. There are more pictures in my bio. Here is the slideshow and the video. Enjoy!

The day after our Laguna Beach TTD, my son the photographer, took some trash the dress pictures of only me. I surprised my husband with these pictures by doing a photobook. My husband and I had done a TTD the day before which was on our actual wedding anniversary with Kristi and Paul. I wanted some of me alone on some train tracks at an old abandoned train station that we knew about, which was also by a wall that was full of graffiti. We also stopped at an abandoned factory building. These locations were perfect and awesome for this TTD. They came out pretty good plus, they were free. Lots more TTD pictures under bio photos.

So every year for our anniversary we have done something special to celebrate it and on our 5th wedding anniversary, we celebrated it in Laguna Beach. We must have seen like three weddings going on in Laguna Beach that weekend and then all of a sudden my husband asked me, "Hey would you marry me again." I looked at him and first asked him are you kidding? He then said, "No I'm not kidding. Would you?" I laughed and said, "Ok. We should do a small vow renewal right here in Laguna Beach." So right there and then we decided that on our 10th wedding anniversary, we will renew our vows in the sand barefoot in Laguna Beach. It will be a weekend celebration with family only beginning with a welcome dinner on Friday and ending with a breakfast brunch on Sunday. We love Laguna Beach. That's where we did our trash the dress photo shoot on our 3rd wedding anniversary. Sometimes we just head out there for a weekend and stay a few nights at our favorite hotel which is right on the beach. Our ceremony will be small and intimate and we will be barefoot on the beach. Our theme will be a rustic beach theme with the colors, agua and chocolate. Our reception dinner will be held at the roof top south lounge at La Casa Del Camino Hotel which is so breath taking with the ocean breeze and the view of the ocean right next to the venue. We will also reserve a block of rooms for our family at this hotel for the weekend and also reserve a city trolley for the transportation for our guests to and from the ceremony. We love the beaches, the shopping, the restaurants, and the art festivals in Laguna Beach. We are very excited and can't wait!
