Two years ago, I ventured out on my own and started Moira Events & Design. People always ask me why I named the company Moira rather than using my own rather boring name. I respond with, "Wendy Moira Angela Darling, and because I never want to grown up." Most people dont get it - but those who do understand me and my company event better!
We do full service wedding planning and specialize in the little details and brining everyones personalities into the event. Following our wedding, kicking and screaming, I also started taking on custom stationery orders.
In August (happy birthday to me!) we launched Moira Design Studio, which is a full line of digital flat print invitations in a variety of design. When we were shopping around for invitations for our wedding, there just wasnt much out there in the $3-$5 price range that didnt make me want to gag. Poof! Design Studio was born. All the invitations on the site start at just over $3 and can be customized to your hearts content by us or through your own creative DIY ideas.
The site will (soon) also feature a full DIY line where you can purchase any of the designs and print them yourself.
We will be launching new designs each season and as trends rise and fall.
Here are some new designs that will be up on the site soon...

I wanted to put some pictures together of all my DIY projects for the wedding. Some were easy, some were hard, and some left bruses.
We shall start with the save the dates:
They were 4 layers and detailed out travel info, hotels, weekend activities, our website, etc.
The four layers before all the corners were cut. The pages fit together so the titles at the bottom of each page was visible under the layer in front of it:
Corners cut and lined up. This is the project that left bruses. Never again will I punch corners. You can also see the layers in this picture with the different tabs:
WIth the gromits in place, the layers swivled out from each other.
The ribbon was tied corner to corner so you can still read all the info.
I liked the chocolate envelopes with matching paper:
And used wrap around lables to address them:

Invitations:
I loved our RSVP card because I thought the mini cow, fish and carrot were adorable. We got a ton of comments back on them from our guests, "Did you get my RSVP? I voted for the carrot," and so on.
All tied together with a ribbon
Inside their chocolate envelopes which were lined in the same paper as the save the dates.
Outter envelope and yes, I printed the addresses (OMG, call Emily Post, she didnt hand write her envelopes!) Irony is now I can do calligraphy, I just hadnt learned yet.

Some more wedding related DIY projects:
Invitations for our bridesmaids brunch:
I held a brunch at my house the day before the wedding for all the girls, moms, and grandmothers.
The envelopes were lined in good old fashioned wrapping paper.
I addressed them in gold ink (even though this pictures is terrible)
Favors:
Our favors were hand made soap that my mom and I made together in three different varieties and different color bands to indicate the meal choice. They doubled as our place cards and the names were pined on top of the table numbers.
Favors in action:
We bought wine at BevMos nickle sale for the wedding. I made custom lables for each of them to match the rest of the stationery. They were super easy, I didnt even take the original lables off, I just double stick taped the new ones on.
I wrapped water bottles in paper that matched the envelope lining to go in the welcome boxes. I had originally plannned on doing the lables that everyone does (you know, with the cute ingrediants and all), but they didnt really match. Plus these were WAY easier. i used the stripes of paper that were left over from lining the envelopes and good ol' double stick tape. I love that stuff!:
Said welcome boxes:
They had water, locally brewed beer, snacks in parchment paper that I sewed closed, maps of san diego, a welcome letter including phone numbers in case someone got lost, etc. We gave them out at the welcome dinner
Invites to the welcome dinner:
Printed on white linen cardstock and mailed in a brown paper bag envelope. So cute!

I made wreaths to hand from the ceremony "arch" things and around the house at the reception:
I collected lanters for the ceremony and around the reception:
Some of their uses:
I frosted 340 sugar cubes with rose buds and "B's" on them (for our new last name together). They were placed on little plates at each tabel to go with the espresso bar.

More DIY stuff:
Reserved signs for ceremony
DIY cathedral veil
We had lemonade and ice tea following the ceremony with cookies. It was our stall tacktic since there was a pretty big gap between our ceremony and reception.
ceremony programs matched the save the dates. they were four layers and tied in the corner with a bow. They were placed in a basket at the ceremony:
Table numbers:
My amazing MOH met her future husband at our wedding last May. She was my maid of honor, he was a groomsmen and they got married March 20!! I got to throw her shower for her and here are some pictures from it:
