I debated what we would serve at the reception over and over in my mind. My FI is so involved in the food and drinks that he almost drove me crazy. Everyone seemed to think because we are in the South, I'm suppose to serve soul food. I was also told its a tradition not to have plated meals.
I was never much of a soul food eater. I do eat; you can see that from my pictures, but just not that kind of food.
Anyway, I decided to do something ethnic so I'm slightly compromising. I also gave in to the buffet style meal.
Our menu is Cajun. Our caterers specialty is Cajun food so that's I wanted them to be in their element. Here's our menu
