My Gown and Silk Flowers are Available for purchase at reasonable costs (help me fund christmas!) PM me for details. :)

The morning started early, up at 8 am. I planned to make a big family breakfast at my grandmas for all my helpers, so I arrived there early (around 8:30) to begin biscuits and gravy, eggs and bacon. I also put together an awesome bean and turkey sausage stew for the wedding and got that into the crock pots. Unfortunately no one (well a couple people) showed up for breakfast and we started late getting all the decorating going.

It all happened so fast that before I knew it, it was time to move on to the ceremony gazebo and get the show on the road!

I LOVE this shot of me peeking out of the ceremony tent to see what was going on. It's my version of the "looking out the window shot" just one of those well lit shots that shows all the anticipation! LOVE IT!

The ceremony went pretty well, but DH had forgotten his vows at home (dont ask...) I rolled with it and just decided to nix the idea and just do the traditional vows (which we were planning on doing in addition anyway) But Uh Oh! We forgot to tell our officiant! We all had a good laugh over me doing the neck slice motion when he started to say "the couple have prepared some words..." lol

How We Met photo 1

This is a photo of us on one of our first dates, early in August 2007. We were engaged by late October!

I visited a friend to supply them wih the opportunity to engage in an illegal transaction.

He made some joke about strippers.

I pretended to take offense.

He mentioned his wish to participate in karaeoke locally,

and I obliged.

I was never the little girl planning her dream wedding, I would have been completely content to live the life of a spinster cat lady. Amos made me change my mind, and here I am. I'm in lub.

I originally found my gown at a bridal store, It was the second or third gown I tried on, and I FELL IN LOVE! However, the price was outrageous. I had plenty of time, So I went home and did a search on EBay, I set it up to send me the search results on a daily basis, and finally after over six months of ABSOLUTELY ZERO hits on my gown, it came up. Good things come to those who wait!

My veil was a DIY, and was SO easy to make! I found a similar veil online for something like 900$, I put this one together for under 30 bucks! I decided on a four-point french bussel, since my gown will be busseled throughout the entire wedding.

We will be married at my grandmothers house, here in Palmer, Alaska. The whole valley has beautiful mountian views, this is a shot of me overlooking the Matanuska River in Palmer.

Our Venue photo 1

I wanted to include the former photo because the only shots I have so far from my grandmas are very brown and dull. But I'll share anyways, hey, it's for posterity.

Our Venue photo 2

The orange boxes in the foreground represent our tents, each side will consist of two 20x20ft tents. The DJ will be set up on the deck, which will be the area for dancing. The orange lines swagging up to the corner of the house represent decklights that will be strung from the corner to the edge of the tent to form a canopy of light over the dancefloor and to pull together the tents and the deck. It also serves the purpose of distracing the eye from the top of the house (which as most of you know, clashes with my colors.) The purple swags along the side of the deck represent swags that will cover that big blue (clashy) line.

I will be using a lot of greenery to mask as much of the mismatched house as possible.

***UPDATE***

I just took some more pics of my grams yard, and I'm feeling MUCH better about it now that it's getting nice and green!

Our Venue photo 3

This is where we will be doing the ceremony, ive added a rouch representation of how I want the chairs and such set up.

Our Venue photo 4

Our guests will walk up the edge of the yard to get to the path through the woods to the ceremony area. It will be lines with lights and the yard outside of the path area will be left to grow extra long, with the path shorn quite short, i think it'll work out well.

Our Venue photo 5

Heres a nice green photo, with some beautiful mountains in the BG. I'm thinking of dolling up the playhouse (isnt it adorable?) and making it the gift table area!

Our Venue photo 6

This is a view of the side garden and the front of the house, I'm *hoping* to get some nice stuff going in the flower beds there.

one of these would be it!

IF I had a cake photo 1

I'm kinda leaning towards this one (below) I think it fits the theme better KWIM? I still love the wood base on in the top photo. I would be more than happy with the fern things being frosting instead of sculpted fondant (which it seems to be, they dont need to stick up like they do, although its lovely like that), and I have some adorable little mushroom candy things we could use instead of the sculpted ones. I dont really mind not having the other elements (such as the leaves and acorns). I DO like the color.

We've chosen to only serve Beer & Wine, it will be avaliable from our server at our own personal bar. I picked this baby up from a local thrift shop for only 17$, it only needed the armrest reupholstered, which I did myself at a cost of under 5$! I love it, and I can't wait for it to get some great use at our wedding!

My first inclination was to hand tie fresh flowers for my wedding, I mean geez, its only a few bouquets and some corsages and boutineers right? I mean, I'm not doing floral centerpieces or anything. Then I thought to myself, why would I want to have one more thing that needs to be done at the last minute? If I'm hand tying flowers the day before the wedding, I'm going to lose my mind! So I ordered silk flowers from save-on-crafts and hand tied everything WAY ahead of time.

one more DIY. I really loved the spiral fern fronds I've seen in bouquet photos, so i started looking around for them online. After A LOT of searching I found some from a hawaiian company, the cost? around 7$ PER STEM and that didn't even include shipping (which from this <and most> company HAD to be 2nd day since I'm in Alaska) So I decided I could make them myself! I bought some heavy floral wire (3$) Some white crayola model magic (the super light modeling clay stuff) (7$) one can of brown spray paint (3$) and one can of glossy clear coat (3$)

I rolled out a snake of the clay with a wire in the center, then I rolled out a snake of clay and made a spiral then attached it to the top of the straight piece with the wire then let it dry over night. Once it was dry I sanded the part where the pieces joined together to make it smooth, then I painted it brown, let it dry and then applied the clear coat. They turned out GREAT and for a fraction of the cost, I made around 30 stems, for under 20$!

I recently found some of these oblong frosted boxes at a thrift store. I wasn't sure how I was going to use them at the time, but it was such a good deal I couldn't pass it up. I wasn't even planning on favors, so thank goodness for my packrat instincts. Anyways, I was pondering how I was going to make my paper sack luminaries and IF they would even look good or not when It dawned on me, I have like 70 of these frosted plastic boxes i could totally use.

Don't mind the top edge of the box, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet (as you can see I was melting it, but it didn't work out as well as I'd hoped. Anyways, I just put about a half a cup of sand in the bottom and a tealight inside. It burnt for about 5 hours (plenty of time), the plastic got pretty darn warm, but I was still able to pick it up without any major discomfort ( or burnt fingers!)

Sorry the pics sideways!

I just made my Program mock-up. I'm not graphic designer and adobe illustrator is NOT my friend. (I used microsoft digital image editor lol) Damn you PW, last week I was of the mind that I didn't even need programs. You guys get me in DIY mode!

I think I mayyyyyy add a wine colored matt behind it.

Last Night I was fiddling around with a few DIY projects. Initally I was thinking of doing paper cones for toss rice, but wondered about something a little more cost effective (Ive already spent a small fortune on cardstock & papers for other stuff) So I rooted around and found a coffee filter and started folding it different ways. Long story short, I coffee dyed it, stamped it, filled it with rice and sewed it shut. I think it turned out pretty well! (although it smells pretty strongly of coffee, lol)

The best part is that to make the 50 i'll need for my ceremony, it'll be pretty much cost free, coffee filters are like 2$, and everything else I already had!

I purchased these white reusable table covers & Chair covers from www.cateringsupplies.com

However, I DONT want any white in the wedding decor. I liked the idea of tea dying, but it seemed VERY labor intensive and also seemed like it would come out much too light for my taste. So, whats better than tea? COFFEE! My initial experiment turned out VERY well, so now I'm in the process of dying all my "linens".

In this photo the original white cover is underneath,

and the dyed sash is on top, much better, dont ya think

I thought this was a great idea when I first saw it since FH's mom passed when he was younger. I made this by simply wrapping vellum around a tall cylindrical vase.

I found these on sale at JoAnns, They run small but the large fits my giant size 11 amazon feet so I think they'll be fine! I tied the different sizes with different colors. I will be placing them in a dark colored basket and my ushers will provide them to guests as they arrive if they've neglected to read my wedding website and opted for heels.

I was originally inspired by this dessert table in a M.Stewart magazine, in fact it was one of two pieces of inspiration I tried to really plan my wedding around. Just yesterday I was surfing around and found this attempt at a similar design... Eeeesh.

What NOT to do photo 1

The wrong way...

What NOT to do photo 2

What I've learned.

  • -Get a cake that matches, or at LEAST complements your decor.
  • DONT over clutter, less is more.
  • DONT serve some cranberry sauce looking mystery paste.
  • Take it easy on the woodchip servers, oh and vary the height a bit more.
  • Please god have food that look appetizing.
  • DONT overdo the hedgehogs....

I'm definitely leaning towards having my hair ALL down, as opposed to half up.

ok ladies, so yesterday I went for ANOTHER make-up trial. I'm not going to go in to allll the details, but here are the pics of what she did, she didnt have any lilac highlight for my eyes, and I thought it would look better blended a bit more. She didnt do my lash extensions (obviously) but anyhoo, when I got home I made a few changes myself.

So heres the before.

Bridal Make Up Trial photo 1Bridal Make Up Trial photo 2

Also, dont mind the semijaggedyliner on my right eye, she just ordered a new liner and the one she had was a bit too dried out.

And heres after I made some changes. Blended in a lilac highlight, gobbed on some more mascara, and put some color on my lips. I'm pretty happy with it. (also, I did my own foundation, because, well, no one was cutting the bill.)

Let's be honest here, I'm feeling MUCH better about this than the last one...

Opening Words

Love consists of this, that two solitudes protect and touch and grett one another.

What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are joined together to strenghten each other in all labour, to minister to each other in all sorrow, to share with each other in all gladness, and to be one with each other in the silent, unspoken memories?

We are gathered here to join Amos and Candice in marriage. It is fitting that you, their families and friends, are here to witness and to participate in their wedding, for the ideals, the understanding, and the mutual respect which they bring to their marriage have roots in the love, friendship, and guidance you have given them. Marriage makes us aware of the changes wrought by time, but this relationship will continue to draw much of its beauty and meaning from the intimate associations of the past.

Who presents this woman to be married to this man?

Query

Amos and Candice, have you come here freely and without reservation to give yourselves to each other in marriage?

Blessings

A marriage is, above all, an intimate relationship between two persons. But it also has it's wider ramifications into the lives of relatives and friends, and intothe community at large. Do you who are here assembled pledge your support to Amos and Candice in the committment that they celebrate today?

Congregation Answers: "We Do!"

Special Reading By My Grandmother

Awed by the many meanings of this hour and overjoyed by it's promises, we hope that the spirit of trust, understanding, and love may be with Amos and Candice through all the years that lie ahead. Whatever the trials and testings that may come, may they trust each other wholly, for, without such faith, marriage is a mockery; may they understand each other, for without understanding, there is neither acceptance nor forgiveness' and may they truly love each other, for without love, marriage is an empty shell.

As they build a new life and a new home, may that home be bright with the laughter of family and many friends; may it be a haven from the tensions of our time, and a wellspring of strength; and, in all the world, may it be the one place they most want to be.

So may this shining hour be an open door through which Amos & Candice will go forth to build a happy, harmonious marriage. May the years deal gently with them; walking together, may they find far more in life than either would have found alone; and may they come to know their love for one another even more fully.

Introduction to the Vows

In the quiet of this very special moment, we pause to give thanks for all he rich experiences of life tha have brought Amos and Candice to this significant point in their lives. We are grateful for the values which have flowed into them from those who have loved them, nurtured them, and poined them along life's way. We are grateful that within them is the dream of a great love adn the resources to use that love in creating a home that will endure. We are grateful for the values which they have found by their own strivings.

And now, as they make their promises to each other, may they make them with the deepest insigh into their meaning and with their fullest sincerity. May this be but the beginning of a relationship that will grown and mature with each passing year, so hat later days become even mroe wonderful than the early ones.

Amos and Candice have prepared a few words to exchange before they take their traditional vows.

Vows

Amos.

*Amos reads his vows*

*Candice reads her vows*

Amos please repeat after me.

-I Amos Simon White take you Candice Susan Renee Frisby

-To be no other than yourself.

-Loving what I know of you and trusting what I do not yet know

-with respect for your integrity and faith in your abiding love for me

-through all our years, and in all that life may bring us

-I accept you as my WIFE

Candice please repeat after me.

-I Candice Susan Renee Frisby take you Amos Simon White

-To be no other than yourself.

-Loving what I know of you and trusting what I do not yet know

-with respect for your integrity and faith in your abiding love for me

-through all our years, and in all that life may bring us

-I accept you as my HUSBAND

Introduction to the Ring Vows

May your ring always be the symbol of the unbroken circle of love. Love freely given has no beginning and no end. Love freely given has no giver and no receiver. You are each the giver and each the receiver. May your gin always call to mind the freedom and power of this love.

*Justin hands Amos HER ring*

Amos please place Candice's ring on her finger as you repeat after me.

-With this ring, I marry you and pledge to you my faithful love.

*Amos places ring on Candice's Finger*

Candice please place Amos' ring on his finger as you repeat after me.

-With this ring, I marry you and pledge to you my faithful love.

*Candice places ring on Amos' finger*

In giving and receiving rings, Amos and Candice have taken unto themselves symbols of all that this marriage means to them, and in wearing these rings, they are joining those meanings with a public statement that they are married. Each of us knows the values of love and devotion, companionship and trust, honour and caring which come in any intimate relationship. Le us take this time to think on these things and share our hopes for Amos and Candice. Amen.

 SAND CEREMONY

Today, Amos and Candice have chosen to commemorate their marriage through the celebration of the sand ceremony.  This ceremony symbolizes the inseparable union of Amos and Candice into a new and eternal marital relationship.  Each grain of sand in their separate containers represents a unique and separate moment, decision, feeling or event that helped shape Amos and Candice into the separate and unique individuals that they are today.

Before you are two separate vessels of sand.  One representing you, Amos, and all that you were, all that you are and all that you will be. And one representing you, Candice, and all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will be.

Both vessels before you hold unique beauty, strength, and character.  They can each stand on their own and be whole, without need of anything else.  However, when you blend the two together they create an entirely new and extraordinarily more intricate entity.  Each grain of sand brings to the mixture a lasting beauty that forever enriches the union.

As you each hold your sand, the separate containers of sand represent your lives up to this moment: individual and unique.  Amos and Candice, as you pour your vessels of sand together and the grains of sand become inseparable the individual containers of sand will cease to exist and will be joined together as one.  Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into individual containers, so will your marriage be.

Spoken Prayer

I wish you all happiness; bu my wishes annot give it, nor can it come from outward circumstances. It can only come from yourselves, from the spirit within you. You cannot choose that changes and chances are to befall you in he coming years, but you can choose the spirit with which you will meet them. Let it be the spirit of the noble vows in which you have just made you pledges. each to the other. If you take these vows not as a form, but as a bond of honour which you will keep with unswerving loyalty, then, whatever may come, you will have inward happiness, which no pleasures of themselves can give, no sorrows take away. Then he whole of life which awaits you will be an abiding security to yourselves, and a welcome example to others.

Pronouncement

Amos and Candice, the two of you were married long before you came here today. Today is merely the sharing  of your wishes and hopes with these close friends and relatives who have gathered here his evening. We all want you to know that our best wishes are with you at this time. We thank you for sharing this very personal moment with us.

I now pronounce you Husband and Wife! You may kiss the bride!

Friends, it is my joy to present to you for the first time, Mr. & Mrs. White!

Posted on 05/21/2009 at 08:02 pm | 1 comment

Amos, I knew I was in love with you the moment you kissed my tears away.

Because of You, I see the world as a fun place with millions of open doors of opportunity. I know your outgoing personality will always put me at ease. I look forward to traveling, laughing and enjoying life as we explore the world together.

I promise to Love & Respect you, and be patient with you because you are my love.

Our relationship is like an unexplored frontier, because we continue to learn new things about it every day.

To me, marriage is like a bond, and with you, I submit to it effortlessly.

I know our marriage will require tending, and I vow to never give up on you.

Today I spent the day mocking up my dessert table at my grandmas! I think it turned out really well! I can't wait to see it covered with delicious desserts! The photos below show the two legs of the L shaped layout.

Here's an overhead view so you can picture how it will really look, however keep in mind that you are looking at the back, which will NOT be visible. There is about a two foot drape of moss on the exposed sides, and below that is a coffee-dyed linen that goes all the way to the floor.

I'd also like to include some detail shots, so you can see everything up close!

I know the gold seems VERY bold, but the doileys will be covered with chocolates and such so there wont be so much gold exposed.

I can't wait to see it all candle-lit, that should also make a huge difference!

Upon further inspection, there was very minimal damage to the lace. This was the worst spot I found, there weren't any other tears or snags like this anywhere else. It looks repairable to me.

Gown Damage Photos photo 1

The bottom of the gown got kinda dirty too, the gown has NOT been cleaned yet so chances are MUCH of the dirties will come out. If not, the dirt only comes up about 3 inches. I am 5'9 and wore heels and the gown was still a little long, therefore if you are shorter/dont plan on wearing heels/or the gown needs to be hemmed, most if not all of this damage would be cut off anyhow.

Gown Damage Photos photo 2

Above & Below- These are the dirtiest spots I could find around the bottom of the dress.

Gown Damage Photos photo 3

Gown Damage Photos photo 4

As You can see, its all very minimal. :) Any other questions or requests just PM me!

Once upon a time there was a girl named Samantha who came from the land of sunshine. Samantha spent her whole life in her warm hometown, working hard on her studies.

Thousands of miles away there lived a boy, named Nic. Nic lived where it was cold and he loved to play hockey.

Nic loved Hockey so much that he moved away to play in Washington, but then he decided to try out someplace warmer, so he moved to Florida!

One day, Samantha decided to go to a party. When Samantha got to the party she spotted her friends and she went over to visit.

It was then that she noticed Nic standing there, he had luscious long hair and a big smile. Sam thought he was very cute, but she was too shy to say hello!

All night she pretended she wasn't looking at Nic, she tried to build up enough courage to introduce herself, but before she knew it, the night was over and it was time to go home.

When Samantha closed her eyes to go to sleep that night, she wondered if she might have missed her chance to ever meet the boy with the big smile.

That week Samantha invited her friends over for a dinner party.

Samantha's friend, Scott, asked her if it would be OK if he brought along a friend. Samantha, being a good hostess, of course said yes.

The night of Samantha's dinner party came and Samantha was putting the final touches on things when the doorbell rang.

At the door was Scott and his friend. It was Nic, the boy with the big smile! You know, the one she couldn't stop daydreaming about?

Nic smiled at Samantha, and Samantha smiled at Nic and before they knew it, they were in their own little world together. They laughed and talked all night long!

The next day Nic and Samantha went to the beach together.

At the beach Nic asked Samantha to be his girlfriend. "We're having so much fun together," He said. "We could do this all the time!"

Over the next few years, Samantha and Nic were inseparable.

They traveled together to Las Vegas, Florida and even Minnesota.

They bought a puppy, and named her Bug.

They even decided to move in together, so they could spend all their time with each other!

One day they noticed that Bug was lonely, so Samantha and Nic decided to bring her home a friend, a boy puppy named Iggy!

Samantha and Nic spent their days together with their dogs and were very happy for almost three years, until one day Nic realized something was missing.

Nic wanted the whole world to know how much he loved Samantha!

So Nic drove right out and bought Samantha the prettiest ring he could find and then he asked her to be his wife!

Sam, of course, said Yes!

Sam started dreaming about their beautiful wedding almost immediately, and decided that a fairytale garden wedding would be the best idea.

But weddings take lots of time to plan, so Nic and Samantha decided that the next summer would be the best time for their big day.

Being engaged, Nic and Samantha made big decisions together, like moving all the way across the country. They even started looking for the perfect house for their new family.

Samantha and Nic were so busy living life that before they knew it their wedding day had crept closer and closer. Until all of the sudden, it was TODAY!

And here we all are, celebrating Love, and wishing all our best wishes to Nic and Samantha on their beautiful wedding day!

Aren't you glad your here to share it with them? :D
