Soon after Brian moved to S. CA, we met. I ran into him at Starbucks on October 10, 2004 and we've been inseparable since. I was immediately attracted to him and thought he was smart and sweet, although a bit shy. We had a good conversation which included movies. I couldn't believe he hadn't seen Garden State even though he was an Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind fan. So I took him by his hand and said, "Let's go watch it", hoping that he wasn't psycho.
He turned out to be my soul mate.
(picture taken night we met)
On our 4 year anniversary, Brian took me Starbucks where we met and we had a drink. We then had sushi and talked about how cool it was that he he introduced me to it. We then drove by his old apartment in West Hollywood, and where we spent our first Halloween together... I realized we were taking a trip down memory lane. We did this all day with that last stop being Starbucks again. I thought it was just "romantic anniversary stuff" and didn't suspect anything else. He asked me to check my necklace which contains a vial. I opened the vial and there was a note that said "Will you marry me?". He got down on a knee, popped out a ring, and I burst into tears. I said yes.
The really cool thing was that my family already knew! He had asked my parents beforehand for my hand. My dad doesn't know a lick of English, so he memorized what to say and asked in Spanish. My parents happily agreed.
