About us :
We are celebrating our 10 year anniversary this September with a Catholic Convalidation (other wise known as a vow renewal)
Back in 1996- I was 21, he was 27.... life was so EASY then :)
I, an aspiring artist; he a struggling Financial Planner...we had it made.
Four years into our courtship we decided THIS IS IT, NOW OR NEVER, NO TURNING BACK. After four years , living together...our family was thrilled, my GOD it's about time....we got engaged.
But suddenly, things progressed. And-- suprisingly not as easily as all would've anticipated.
We were blessed with an unexpected little bundle (watch out for St. John's Wort while taking BC ladies!).
This threw a monkey wrench into our well laid out plans. After we had already put a deposit down for the reception hall and MANY other vendors, with BIG wedding plans in our future... we were the first of our group of friends to get married, we were gonna do it up BIG.
The problem was; we were in a small apartment which was perfect for us.. but not for a family.
We decided to sneak off and get hitched, why bother explaining? No one would understand. We were married by a JOP and used the money we were to spend on the wedding to build our dream home. Now here we are 10 years and four children later....ready to do it the way we wished we could the first time :)
My renewal has taken on a life of it's own; and with each item I've purchased/DIY'ed I've been creating a 1940's style wedding :) Not so coincidentally; my favorite style icons emerged at that time (my Grandparents wedding being one of them!)
Without further ado........my progress as of yet :)
It all started twelve years ago with this! 1.5 carat heart shaped diamond in a claddagh ring setting.
Two years after we were married.
And then came four kids in four years...........
And now after 10 years, at the church that we had all of our children baptized at....we will finally have our day!

totally surprised me & bought a new 3.3 carat marquise ring!
But after much thought we decided to play around a bit with the original setting to make it more like THIS!
