(yes, this girl rocked TOMS on her wedding day!)
DH collects coins, so of course he already had a sixpence for my shoe!
Here is me and Joe's story:
I first met Joe in 2005 when we both worked at Kroger together. He didn't talk much and always kept to himself, but I always said a "hey" or "hello". I was dating
another guy in high school at the time, so Joe quickly left my thoughts.
I get into my senior year. It's all amazing and great throughout the first part of the year, but come time for band banquet (I'm a proud band nerd-I played flute!
And no, I did not go to band camp!), prom, and graduation it all fell apart. That guy I was dating cheated on me with one of my classmates. To say I was heartbroken and devistated is an understatement. I never wanted anything
to do with men ever again! Little did I know someone would come along and completely change my mind...
Joe and I got reintroduced that summer (2006). I had walked into Kroger, where my now-ex was working, hoping to make him see me, and maybe get him back (since I was 18 and stupid). I was with my friend
Ryan (who's a girl) and as we were leaving the self checkout I hear a, "bye Dani!" I turn around and there's Joe: smiling his big grin and waving. Of course, I couldn't remember his name! I had to look at his name tag! We
started talking, and I asked him if he wanted my digits (so cool, right?). The three of us (being me, Joe and Ryan) hung out a lot that summer! The rest is history!
I am so lucky to be loved by this amazing man. I
couldn't ask for better!
Our future plans involve moving out of Texas and to the beautiful state of Colorado!
We just got back our engagement photos from our AMAZING photographer, Jillian Zamora (www.jillianzamora.com)! If you live in the DFW area, PLEASE get in contact with this girl! We've booked her for our
wedding and couldn't be more excited!
She sent us the CD in the mail, and where I would LOVE to post every. single. one....I don't want to kill your internet by making you wait for them to load! So I will post our favorites!
(This one is probably my favorite-it's very us!)
Jillian told me there are still about 10-15 images left that she's going to send me on another CD! Can't wait to see those too!

A lot of people have asked me why Joe and I chose a November wedding. Is November a significant month for us?
No, not really.
We chose November because we live in Texas and the weather would
finally start to feel pleasant by our wedding date. Is that sad? We chose our wedding date because the weather would be nice? The joys of Texas heat and unpredictable weather!
Since we chose a Fall date, I knew I wanted
warm, rich colors without using the typical red, orange and yellow palette.
So here's what we went with!
Deep plums, reds and golds!
I am in LOVE with my colors!
Thank GOD for websites like the Wedding Chicks (www.weddingchicks.com)
They have these templates for some SUPER cute calendar save the dates! So I went to work in photoshop and added our website, and
the "formal invitation to follow" lines. It took a little bit of playing around to get my e-pics to fit in there correctly, but I got them!
Here they are!
My Mom and I are going to find a small heart stamp and a gold ink pad and we'll stamp over the 17th.
I'm SO excited!! The only thing we'll pay for these is having them printed and getting some envelopes! Maybe I can find something similar for wedding invites?!
I read on the Wedding Chicks that you can choose two or three of
your favorite pictures and send those out!
I used these three pictures in each template. I just have to pick which one to use now!
UPDATE (3/21/12):
We chose the second template!
I couldn't find a small enough
heart stamp, so FI made a little red circle to put over our date. Kinda like, "HEY! This date is important, so SAVE IT."
I mailed them out yesterday!! So exciting!
I had the pleasure of working with Kathy (pknguyen22 here on PW!) of PhunKat Designs for our invitations. I had a hard time finding an invitation I liked and that didn't cost me my first born child.
Kathy offered me an amazing deal for custom invitations and I couldn't say no! She delievered an amazing product, and I couldn't be happier! I wanted something soft and pretty, but not something so girly that FI would be "meh"
about it. Kathy knew exactly what look we were going for!
So here it is (with some info blacked out, of course):
You can check out more of Kathy's designs on her design blog:

I bought my dress back in October and I am SO happy with it! As a former David's Bridal employee, I knew what style would really suite my body best: a-line or ball gown. I really believe my gown is a
beauitful meeting of those two styles!
Here are the "official" photos from David's Bridal:
The bodice is completely beaded and embellished with lace. And all those ruffles?
Organza. I never thought I would end up in SUCH a frilly dress, but I seriously loved it and my Mom was speechless (very hard for her to do)! So we bought it!
And here it is on me:
The first picture shows the actual color I ordered it in: ivory. I feel it looks much better on my skin tone than the stark white. The second picture is the bustle, then
the back without the veil, and the back with the veil (the price tag totally makes it, right?).
We are going to alter the top to a sweetheart neckline. I loved plenty of sweetheart dresses, but not as much as this one. So what
will make me love it MORE? Altering it to a more flattering neckline!
UPDATE 2/2/2013:
I've posted the wedding pictures! You'll notice the new neckline, and that I wore a lace applique jacket with my dress.
I developed psoriasis on my arms (and scalp-augh!) due to stress from work and planning the wedding. If you're dealing with the same issue, you're not alone! I got a ton of compliments on the jacket and no one realized it was a
jacket until I took it off for the reception!
We picked out the bridesmaids dresses!
My girls will be wearing this Bill Levkoff dress:
It is style 165 in Plum (the same color in the picture).
I have three different sized girls, and this looks beautiful on all of them!
We're still trying to figure out jewelry and shoes.
Necklace or no necklace? Big earrings and a bracelet? Our accent color for the wedding is gold, so I'm trying to think of gold jewelry. And the shoes? I think I'm about to tell the girls to buy either red or champagne
colored shoes of their choice! I'm afraid if I ask them to buy gold shoes, all they'll be able to find is metallic-y, disco shoes.
DO NOT WANT!
Any suggestions?
