It was a chance meeting that forever changed our lives. I was raised in Alaska and from 2004 until I met Daniel in 2007 I traveled and worked in National Parks every six months. My fiance moved to Vail, Colorado in 2002 from Columbus, Ohio and with fate on our side we were introduced over a trash can at the Beaver Creek Lodge in 2007.
Timing was not on our side, I was in a relationship and he had recently gotten out of a bad one. Working in a restaurant you tend to spend most of your time on and off the clock with the same group of people. The more I got to know him the more that I realized how he made me feel happy and wanted. Two months after we met, I ended things with my then bf. Something clicked when I was in the same room as Daniel and I wanted to be with him. That first winter he and I really learned allot about each other and ourselves.
After that season we wanted a fresh start and I wanted to finish school. We moved back to his hometown of Columbus, Ohio in the summer of 2008.
Something fun about us, we both have the same initials DLM. In fact My name is Dani and his is Daniel, family commonly refers to us as "The Dans"
When we started planning our wedding, we wanted to make sure we put as much of us into it as we could. Including making sure our love for everything outdoors was present. We knew we wanted to get married in a National Park, we narrowed it down to three Yosemite, Grand Canyon, and Olympic National Park. It was not until I was going through pictures I found a postcard I bought of the Yosemite Chapel back when I worked in Death Valley that we knew it was meant to be.
Love being cat people :) We adopted these two litter mates when we worked at the Grand Canyon
Chongo is light gray and Mando is the gray/brown.
The ceremony will be taking place at the historic Yosemite Chapel in Yosemite National Park.
Reception is at the beautiful Tenaya Lodge in Fish Camp, California
White Pumpkins, Pine Cones, Blue and White Hydrangeas. Oh My!
We wanted to make as many things as possible for the wedding. We were having a hard time finding rustic themed anything in our color scheme. Especially since our color palette was not popular for fall weddings when we started planning last year. Also wanted to make sure we put as much of our personality and love of the outdoors as we could.
