Andrew is 24 and I am 22...we both moved 3000 miles away from home and didn't know eachother until we moved, but actually went to the same highschool together in our home town.
My FI and I began dating on August 18th, 2008. I had been absolutely in love with him for a year before we began dating but I was involved with someone else at the time. Shortly after we began dating, I found out that he never had any intention to marry anyone, ever. One night we were laying in bed and he began taking about having kids together. I told him that I wanted to be married first and that marriage was very important to me. He told me that he never wanted to get married (FI's parents are no longer together) but after about a week from saying that, he told me that if marrying me meant that I would stay in his life forever, then he wouldn't want anything more than to make me happy.
We got engaged in March. Early in the relationship but I knew he was the one. He asked my father's permission for my hand, like a gentleman. :-)
Andrew proposed one night before bed. He was in our ensuite bathroom and I was laying in bed. I felt him come over to my side of the bed, but my eyes were closed.
"Dee, open your eyes"
"Mmm...come to bed"
"I am in bed"
"No lay down and sleep"
"Dee, open your eyes"
"WWWWhhhhhhhyyyyyy"
"So that you can see that I am down on one knee"
He had the ring box open and was shaking :S
"Danielle Rose *******......long nervous pause......will you marry me?"
FI's ring is Tungsten Carbide with a Carbon fiber inlay...
I had my heart set on this Maggie Sottero dress and tried it on 6 times...all at different stores....I knew it was the one. :-)
I got it in light gold and pewter.
I plan on getting an evening dress for dancing after dinner as this dress weighs 12 pounds.
EARRINGS!!!
SHOES!!!!
I am using silk flowers for my pillar urns that will be at the church and then brought to the reception.
Ok, so this is what I originally wanted for flowers. I realized I don't have much money so I opt to do it myself for $350 less than what I would get them for if the were real. Michael's had a buy one get one free sale!
Our 66' Lincoln Continental with suicide doors
A city bus for our "Limo" haha
I can't find any exact pictures but some are similar to what I have chosen...
This is inside my hall...I am using the same candelabras but they will be on every table and with the black and mocha roses in the center. I also have the swag on that back wall....
This is the pattern of my linens...Hehe..couldn't find a picture online...The chaircovers match the ivory in the pattern.
We are considering doing kings tables for the imidiate family and we are having cocktail stand-up tables by the bar.
Some little stuff that I have purchased....
our wedding is booked and set for October 2nd, 2010.
Andrew and I are getting married in an Anglican church. FI is Anglican and I am Catholic. We are expecting 220 people after RSVP's.
This is the church front of our church...
We have decided not to have a religious ceremony as most of my family is Catholic and FI's
family and most of our friends don't really have a religion.
This is where the reception will be held...
The cake is ordered!!!! I wanted the cake on the right but with the cost of the flowers, it was way too much!
Instead, I got this cake! I got it in burgandy and ivory instead of the milk and white chocolate. I think I am going to have it flavoured in Red Velvet with cream cheese icing under the fondant!
My FI only request was that we get an icecream soft-serve machine and a bunch of yummy toppers like they used to serve at Pizza Hut when we were kids.
I am also thinking of getting a martini bar. :-)
Just bought my garter and it is the coolest thing ever! As you all know, my FI and I are into SuperMario as a cutesy thing.
I'm super excited for it to come in! I may do a picture for my boudoir I ordered it in our colours of course, so it's not the exact same as this. I will post a picture when it arrives.
http://www.sewuniquegarters.com is where I got it...they have lots of unique designs to choose from! Just got my garter in! My colours!
<----Half up, Half down all teased at the crown...I will attach my
veil under the puff!
<---Couldn't find make-up that I like really but I will do a crease shadow in a gold colour probably, peachy blush and bronzers and single lashes for
the corners.

So...I decided it was cheaper to do my own invites by almost $3 an invite! I've just started and am making a mock-up to send my mother to get her approval. I will be making two different invites and sending them in the mail as though she were to be getting them for real!
So I scratched the old invites out...and made these...I like them best I think...
This is the monogram that I think we are going to go with for the front...
I am getting the pocket folds from Cards and Pockets. I found them in-town here for $2.40 a peice! They are a dollar cheaper on cardsandpockets.com!
I just printed the wording from my computer and cut the papers to size...printed the belly bands on Microsoft words and folded them around and attached one glue-dot on the back to adhere the band. Simple enough!
Just finished my shower invites...made 80 including envelope for $35!
Again, bad lighting...
Parasol - In the works...
I bought a plain parasol...it was much cheaper...and I painted my own. I tink I stole the idea from someone so if it is you, let me know!
I started making these "trees". I will have a cream puff, chocolate covered starwberries and a Ferrero Rocher tree. I am only half done so I will post a pic of what it will look like...
----> I've decided to take them out and make a twirled pattern out of them!

So we booked the shower for July 11th, 2010!
We were originally going to have it outside but then decided to have it indoors.
There is a giant sun room facing the pond.

Iam making scratch tickets using this adhesive scratch off material. I will be placing a square over the part where I want the scratch off to be. If you scratch three brides, you win a prize!
I will post pics when I'm done!
Cupcakes!
Bought these at Etsy - Cupcake tins - Cake stand my dad is going to make me - Damask cupcake wraps
Attire :-)
I won a $1000 gift card to Le Chateau and one of the things that I bought is my shower dress! It needs to be altered a little..it's folded under in this picture and the straps are too long!
Are these shoes too much?
Well, this is our menu. We are just having an average banquet hall meal. We are also having a dessert table and as you know, a soft-serve icecream and topping bar.
Penne with meat sauce
Tossed garden salad
Chicken breast with lemon sauce
Roasted potatoes
Roast beef with fresh mushrooms
Whole green beans and carrots
Crusty bread rolls and butter
Assorted Italian pastries

For those of you who don't know, people in Ontario (weird I know) have something called a "Stag and Doe" or "Buck and Doe". This is not a bachelor party of anything, it's actually traditionally a fund-raiser so that you can have an open bar at the wedding. People buy tickets which include free keg beer and dinner. There are many cool games to play and as I add more and more, you will see that It's like a carnival/casino night!
These are the tickets that I made!
Posters...My first one and some that I bought at the party store!
I bought these to make shirts for the girls to wear
Some tickets so far....Convertible table, Black Jack, poker, roulette, craps...can't remember the last one!
Never used it! Bought it to do invites with but got lazy!

We went to David's Bridal today and found my mom's dress! We like it best out of all the "Granny" outfits for MOB's that they have. Stil not completely sure but put it on lay-away!
This is the dress. We got it in a solid dark purple!
