Ryan and I met during my sophomore year of high school (his Junior year). I knew he was the one right away,
but he needed some convincing! :) We started dating officially about a year after we met. He graduated and went off to college in Colorado while I stayed back in California to finish high school. We dated long distance for 2 full years before we
decided that we wanted to live closer to each other and get more serious about our relationship. We moved down to Los Angeles and still lived about 45 minutes away from each other (especially in the horrendous traffic!) but it was much better than a 2
hour plane ride.
After 4 long but amazing years, Ryan proposed to me in Hawaii and we began our next big trek through a 22 month engagement! We wanted to be married so badly during those two years but we wanted to honor our parents and
graduate from college first.
Needless to say, our wedding day was filled with anticipation and emotion. Because we dated for so many years, my dad and Ryan became very good friends which is why we chose him to perform our ceremony. I knew my dad
would have a hard time getting through the vows, but it turned into a domino effect! Every time he saw me tear up, he would break down and visa versa! The good thing is that it resulted in incredible emotional images and video footage!
Our ceremony was extremely personalized as my dad gave his "little girl" away to a man who he said he had "absolutely no reservations and couldn't trust anyone more with."
