About Tiffany

I graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato in December 2006 with a degree in Human Resource Management. I currently work as an Executive Assistant and love my job. In my free time I enjoy shopping, running, hanging out at the beach or pool, and being with friends and family. My time is currently spent planning the wedding of our dreams! :)

About Joe

Joe graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato in May 2005 with a degree in Accounting. He currently works as a Staff Accountant and he just recently became a CPA after months of hard work! In his free time he enjoys listening to and playing music, going out with friends, working out, golfing, and going to concerts. Of course most of his time is spent with his beautiful fiancée.

How we met

Joe will tell you that we met at a bar but I don’t recall that so I will tell you that we met when I needed some help with my Accounting homework. I went over to his place with my book and homework, which never got done because we spent the entire night talking. Two and a half years later, we are engaged!

Engagement Date: 7/17/08

Joe and I had been planning a vacation to Duluth since last January to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday; little did I know he was also planning to propose to me. We arrived at Dodge’s Lodges and were blown away by how beautiful our cabin was. We arrived at our beautiful cabin right on Lake Superior and Joe told me was planning a romantic evening in. We got dressed up, Joe cooked a wonderful dinner, then told me it was time to exchange presents (I had to give him a present for our anniversary). My birthday was the day before and Joe had been telling me that I couldn’t get my present until the following night so I was getting pretty ancy. I opened my present and it was a new digital camera. After opening it, I realized Joe had put pictures from the last 2 years on the camera. We spent a few minutes reminiscing and when we got to the end, Joe got up and put on a song. He walked back towards me shaking and said, “There is one more picture.” He took the camera, took a picture of me, and said “This is where we got engaged.” He got down on one knee, took out the ring, and said “Will you?” I said “Will I what?” and then he said “Will you marry me?” Of course I said YES!

We are having a very large wedding on October 10, 2009- around 500 people.  I wouldn't do it any other way.  We both want all of our friends and family there to celebrate the big day!

We are getting married at my hometown Lutheran church in MN.  I think it is a beautiful church-- and it holds over 500, which we need! :)  I can't find any pictures of the church but trust me, it is a beauty. We are having an afternoon wedding with a cocktail hour afterwards and then dinner at 6 pm. Dancing will follow dinner. Our reception venue is in the process of being built but this is an "in progress" picture.  It is a brand new golf club and it is supposed to be very nice!  We toured the progress this past weekend, and it really is going to be pretty awesome! Can't wait to see the final product.

The wedding party consists of 7 attendants for each of us, 2 flowergirls, 2 ring bearers, and 4 ushers.

Our colors are dark brown and pink (at this point there will be light pink and fuschia)

This is the BM dress and she is wearing the shoes too.  We are getting them shortened to be 1 inch from the bottom of the knee. and they are strapless- the straps are her bra straps. :)

Shoes:

These will be dark brown (same shoe as mine, only mine are fuschia)

The back- the ribbon will be dark brown

These are the shoes I would like for the 2 flower girls but Target also has them in white with pink sparkles.

I will add to this as we make more decisions but so far we know that my aunt and uncle will be singing 2 songs that they transformed in to duets.

1. "Longer by Dan Fogelberg

2. "Annie's Song" by John Denver

My aunt will probably also sing "The Rose" by herself-- love that song!

It is a wrap style invite.  This is what it looks like closed. Our names will be printed on the pink stripe in the middle.

This is what it looks like opened up. All of the insert cards on the right will be the same white as the invite but you get the idea.

Thanks to our good friend for creating them!

I love how these turned out! FI had the idea but I actually created them with one of our engagement pics.  They will be in the mail this week!!

My mom and I decided on 2 of the 3 different centerpieces:

We will use this for about 1/3 of the tables. The flowers will be a lighter pink and they will all be the same flower but you get the idea:

This will be on another 1/3 of the tables.  There will be a few more branches in the vase and we will also be using the same fabric as above underneath the vase:

These paper mache balls are another centerpiece that I would like but I'm not sure yet.

We found out that we can only have white tableclothes so that is why we are having the brown fabric in the center.  Probably pink napkins??

I will add more info as we finalize it!

We just met with a florist yesterday and she was great! We are still waiting to see what the cost will be but this is what we came up with.

My bouquet will consist of Asiatic Lilies (pink), calla lilies (white/pink) and a few filler flowers- Alstromerias (pinks).  I am going to have a laced up white ribbon covering the stems (laced up like the back of my dress :)) I am not having a very large bouquet with lots of greens. Just the simple stems.

The BMs bouquets will be similar to mine only smaller and no calla lilies. They will also have the laced up ribbon in light pink and dark pink.

The boutonniere will be a calla lily with the alstromeria as a filler.  The groom's stems will have a white ribbon, groomsmen will have a light pink and dark pink ribbon, the ushers will have a dark pink ribbon, and the dad's will have a light pink ribbon. I can't remember for sure but I think they will all be pretty similar besides the ribbons.

The mom's and flower girls will have wrist corsages with an Asiatic lily and a few of the alstromeria.

All other "servicy" people will have a more simple corsage with a pink rose and the alstromeria (gotta go cheaper on them. :))

There will also be 2 large vases of flowers on the altar consisting of calla lilies, Asiatic lilies, and alstromeria.  It is hard to explain but everything sounds like it will be beautiful.

Here are some pics of the types of flowers:

Since we have such a large wedding party, we decided to rent a coach bus to haul us around in between the ceremony and the reception. The bus will also shuttle guests back to the hotels throughout the night so it works out pretty slick! No body needs to worry about drinking and driving.

I found this picture in the photos here on PW. We are doing our cake exactly like this only 3 tiers and a different flower. I love it!
