My FH and I have known each other for over 10 years, going back to high school in Northeastern PA. It wasn't until the end of junior year that we finally expressed our feelings for each other, even though the last thing I wanted was a boyfriend when I would be going to college in a year. I went away to school at The University of Maryland and he went to Penn State. The long distance thing was hard and there were a few break-ups and make-ups along the way. After college, we ended up both getting jobs in MD and moving in together. We are now living in Baltimore, MD but the wedding will be back in our hometown in PA.

We began dating in May 2001. Fast forward to 7 & 1/2 years later, December 15th, 2008. It was a random Monday night, and for days FH kept asking me to play Trivial Pursuit with him. Now you must know that we are both extrememly competitive and play many different games. Board games, Jeopardy, mini-golf, you name it!. So anyway, we had been bugging me for days before to play and I thought nothing out of the ordinary because we always play games. He wanted to play on the weekend, but I told him I planned on having my two girlfriends over. That kinda ruined his plans because they were pretty much here the whole weekend!. So finally Monday rolls around. We both work at the same place so he keeps telling me throughout the day that he can't wait to play trivial pursuit. We get home and I am chillin on the couch still in my work clothes and he tells me, "you look so nice today. You should stay in your work clothes." This is bizarre because he ALWAYS tells me to get changed into comfy clothes. I tell him I want to be comfy so I go put on sweats and put my hair up. We then go on to play Jeopardy, which we basically yell answers out at the tv. He completely dominates me but I don't even care. Then we start trivial pursuit. He was kicking my butt throughout that whole game and it was the final question he had to answer to win. He intentionally answers the question wrong, something about figure skating and the answer was "triple axle" but he answers "triple hexle". I thought he was just a dummy so I made fun of him but told him he should win since he was so close. Also, the Eagles game was coming on Monday Night Football so I thought he would be dying to finish the game. Instead, he says he wants to keep asking me questions since I hardly got any of them right. After a few questions he then says, "If you get this last question right, you win." He then goes to reach for a card and turns to his side, reaches in his pocket and gets down on his knee and asks me to marry him. I almost died! I think it tool me a full minute to answer but just because I was in shock. It was the most amazing surprise and something I will remember forever!

FH is a huge Penn State football fan so I knew I had to incorporate that somehow into the wedding. What's better than a Penn State garter and it covers my something blue! I love it! Got it from ebay seller craftychick!.

The Ceremony photo 1

Our ceremony will be held at a beautiful, quaint Episcopal church. The ceremony will be held at 3pm so there is not too much time in between until the reception. The church is only a mile from the reception location so we won't be needing transportation.

Our reception will be held at The Highlands at Newberry Estate in Dallas, PA. We were looking for something different from your typical ballroom. This is an old mansion over 100 years old with beautiful gardens. Their specialty is a cabaret style dinner in which there are over 150+ foods served. There are 2 different bars that will be open the full 5 hours and a back patio that overlooks the mountains. I can't wait to take pictures in the gardens.

Both of my rings are from Kay Jewelers. We haven't ordered FI's ring yet, but he likes this Tungsten ring from Overstock.com.

I wanted a personalized guestbook for the wedding so with many recommendations I ordered our book from Blurb. I am very happy with the results. It was easy to make online and it only took 8 days to arrive!

Jessi from JustInviteMe created our wonderful invitations. I knew I wanted pocketfolds from the beginning. I didn't trust myself making them but I also didn't want to spend a fortune on them. Jessi will work within your budget and help your vision come to life. I am so happy with the results!
