I've been a fan of projectwedding.com for years now and am so happy to finally be on the site as a bride-to-be!

My FI, Sheldon, proposed on August 27, 2009 in the closet after 4 years and 10 months of dating.  We just returned from a vacation in Australia, where I was expecting him to propose.  When he didn't propose there, the last thing I was expecting was a proposal that evening!  He invited me over for dinner saying he wanted to cook for me.  During dinner, he was kind of fidgety, reaching into his pockets a few times and looking at me in a way that I'll never forget.  Nevertheless, I was nonchalant during dinner again thinking nothing of his sweet gestures.  After dinner, he said he would do the dishes while I relaxed and watched tv.  While watching tv in the living room, he calls to me from in his closet asking me to come in to see some jeans he just bought.  When I stepped into the walk-in closet, he was down on one knee holding the ring!  He said, "The last 5 years have been the best years of my life and I would be honored to spend the rest of my life with you."  I screamed and said yes after I realized what was happening!

I went to my parent's house the next day to tell my mom in person.  My dad already knew though because my fianced already asked for my hand in marriage. :).

While I always expected and wanted an over-the-top engagement (thinking Australia would have fit the bill!), I would not have had my in-the-closet proposal any other way.  That closet will forever be a special place for me and my clothes!

We will be getting married at The Craven's Estate in Pasadena on 9/25/10!
