Wedding Party Intro Dance!
DH had a surprise up his sleeve! He shared "12 Reasons Why I Love Michelle" wi th a selected guest handing me a rose for each reason!
First Dance
Wedding Party Toast to our "First Kiss!"
What an amazing day!
I wanted a non-traditional Photobooth. A "prom" backdrop with props sounded perfect! DH & I worked with Thai of Thai Mai Photography for our first Engagement session. We really wanted him to be a part of our wedding team! When he launched his first PB (Photobooth), I contacted him immediately!
I went overboard with Christmas props, if I could buy more, I would! DH was not happy with my 20th Christmas headband but in the end, everyone had fun!

Intro Dance Moves
In 2001, after a long day of studying, FI walked me back to my car. I remembered grilling FI for dressing up at the Library, a Blue Polo tucked into Khaki pants. FI's normal attire, a Rec Hall tee, cargo shorts, and flip flops. I knew it was for me, well I hoped it was for me.
We passed the MU and the sprinklers were on. Without getting wet, I hopped onto the sidewalk. I felt a hand grab mine and there FI was, smiling at me with those lopsided dimples. He had me at that very moment.
My FI is Neil JB Wong, born and raised in San Francisco.
FI Fun Facts
- Semi-Colorblind
- Enjoys Spicy Eats
- Plays Basketball & Ping Pong
- Thinks changing lanes in the middle of an intersection is legal
- Avid Fantasy Sports Player
- Adorable when sick
- Calls me Michelle when I am in trouble
- Lucky @ Craps and Slot Machines
- Best Back Scratcher
Why I ♥ FI
FI has changed my life, he teaches me something new every day, I learn something new about him every day, he challenges me, he lets me be me, but most of all...he's my best friend!
"Bah Humbug," could I be any grumpier on Christmas Day? Every Christmas since knowing FI, he reminds me how spoiled I can be, yes, I said spoiled. Camera inside a clothing box, jewelry inside a frame box, you name it, I fell for it! My disappointed face said it all, unfortunately.
I had a feeling, my friends and family had a feeling, that this would be it. ☺I made sure that FI knew I wanted to open my gifts on Christmas Eve. I felt like a "detective" this whole month watching FI's every move and behavior. Anyhow, I saw a gift on the table and thought to myself, it's quite thin to fit a ring inside. FI handed it to me with a card. I read the card first and it read, "More gifts to come." I got so giddy...but I opened the gift and it was a dvd. I looked at it, brand new, never been opened.
The next morning, Christmas Day...I woke up FI and said, "Where is my gift, where is my gift?" He threw a box at me, an Ugg box to be exact. I was semi-happy b/c I am an Ugg lover but that's beside the point. I opened the box and thought please be a ring but it was slippers. I fell for it again!
I gave up, yelled inside, "7+YEARS!" I have to be patient, I have to be patient. Sunday morning, FI says let's take a mini road trip. We drove up the Coast to Bodega Bay for the best chicken tenders and clam chowder! As we were leaving, FI takes me outside next to the seagulls.
Monday evening, I see a gift hiding in the corner. I can spy anything new or missing anytime! FI says pack first for our OC Trip, shower, and then you can open it. I didn't think anything about it, I was exhausted from setting myself up! It was time to open the gift and it was a Sony Digital Photo Frame. FI opened it as I was complaining that it wasn't pink. Then the fingerprints threw me off...I cringed. He is driving me nuts! He turned it on and there were photos from when we first met till now. But Gordy, my favorite pig, what's he doing on here?
At this point, I WAS CRYING!!!
FI walked me to where Gordy was. I saw the Ring box but there was no ring in it. I turned around and there FI was, on one knee... he asked me, "What hand babe?" He pulled the ring out of his pocket and popped the Q! I said yes but FI didn't hear me and minutes later, he asked, "Do you have an answer yet?" YES-YES-YES!
What an end to 2008, FI got me good & it was worth it! Dec 09'...let's start planning!
Since jamiesue reminds me that I tend to go out of order when it comes to Wedding Planning, I can't help but share my 1st inspiration with you, "Accessories!"
Trust me, I have thought about Colors (love all colors), flowers (love all flowers), and BM Dresses (can't say I love them all) but what girl doesn't think about accessories all day long? I am a huge Tarina Tarantino HK Pink Head Collector, you name a theme, I'll have it. I have ♥ Hello Kitty ever since I could say Hello Kitty as a kid.
I fell in love with Tarina Tarantino's Bridal Collection since it hit the stores in Fall of 2007! I thought to myself, I am not engaged quite yet but oh do I want something from that line! It just so happened that FI & I took our 1st trip to NY that Fall.
Did I mention that there is a TT Boutique in Soho? I usually buy everything online b/c there is no Boutique up North. If I could buy everything in that store, trust me, I would. FI bought me this after 1 hour of drooling, I meant browsing.
So, here it goes. I hope to purchase some of these or all for my Bridal Shower, "Day After Photos," or risk it and wear some pieces on the Wedding Day! The Headband and Garter are to die for!
{{Update: My friend surprised me w/the Headband, so excited to wear it! Thank you V! I went ahead and purchased the bracelet, necklace (not pictured), & garter!}}
FI & I in the past have always joked about Bridal Party Gifts. FI loves personalized Nike Dunk Low's for his GM and I personally love Gina Alexander for my BM's!
For GM, FI wants to create Nike Dunk Low's through http://nikeid.nike.com
Depending on what colors we choose for the Wedding or by picking GM's favorite colors... I think it's brilliant! A gift with some character. I told FI if he didn't want to use NIKEiD, he could always pick the same color kicks but personalize them with their initials. Now mind you, it is bad luck to receive shoes as a gift so we will need to tape a quarter to the box!
I love these! GM may wear them during the Dinner Reception if I make FI his own special pair! ☺
For BM, I want to give them something useful but uni que and F-U-N! I customized a Gina Alexander Bag for my Mom 3 years ago. She loves Amelie and Bijou (family cats) so we put them on a bag for her to "show" them off! They're like kids to her...
I want to customize a cosmetic bag with our picture on it! Not sure if it will be a picture of the 2 of us or a group shot but I have loved that idea for so long! The below picture is a tote but I am looking at options in the Small Vanity Collection.
A photo of me on bags, who wouldn't want one? I hope the girls "scream" over it!
Luxe Links is another idea for my BM's. For ladies who don't want to put MARC on the ground! A table hook for your purse. I need to get one for myself!
{{Update- 8/8/2009: The "Trek" for Nike Prestiges II's took 3 weekends in a row to complete! FI found the perfect shoes for his GM and himself, of course. The only catch, they weren't available online but at local Foot Locker stores around the Bay Area. There were shoes being shipped to my office and plenty of car rides to Serramonte and Hillsdale Mall. Mission accomplished, next up, shoe bags with monogrammed initials!}}
FI got Black/White patent with Red for himself, White and Black patent for his Best Man, and Black patent with Medium Grey and white for the remaining GM.
FI surprised me with a pair of my OWN! Woo Hoo! Pink!
Mines rock, really! They're Black/Pink patent with a glittery pearl White coat! I asked him if I could wear them under my dress for the garter toss and his response, "That's not sexy, no way!" We compromised and I'll put them on for a "Shoe" photo op with the GM!
Shoe Bags with Monogrammed Initials
Here is what FI found, they're for Golf Shoes but who would ever know?!?
{{Update- 11/14/2009: We picked up our RB's Nike Air Force 1's for the Reception, too cute! He'll match his Daddy (BM) for the evening!}}
{{Update- 12/04/2009: It was so hectic that I didn't get a chance to take pictures of the BM Gifts!}}
I ended up going crazy and stuck with a "Winter" theme and accessories to wear on the Wedding day.
- Different Color Puffer Vests (Old Navy)
- Plaid Fuzzy Scuff Slippers (Macy's)
- Crystal & Pearl Hair Comb (Forever 21)
- Crystal Drop Earrings (Macy's)
- Pale Pink Pashmina (Peach Couture)
What more can you wish for on Valentine's Day? After hours and hours of "venue" searching, reviewing comparisons in my sleep ...my parents, FPIL, and FI finally came to a decision! It was between the Julia Morgan Ballroom (Merchants Exchange Building, SF) and Oceano Hotel & Spa (Half Moon Bay). "Starry City Night" or "Coastal Elegance???" We reviewed the contract and we're ready for the next stages of planning!
We decided to go with a "Mini Destination" Wedding and Oceano Hotel & Spa had everything we needed and more!
Oceano Hotel & Spa will be celebrating their 1st Year Anniversary this March!
Our Oceano Faves
- Destination by the Ocean
- Outdoor or Indoor
- Dancing under the Stars
- Eco Friendly
- Villa Room "Spy Window" to the Garden
- Christmas Decor
- Hidden "Shopping" Mall
- Nancy our Coordinator
I made the above inspiration board to see which flowers would capture a Winter White look. Off-whites, whites, & Pale pinks.
- Blue Snowball
- White Snowball
- Snowball Mum
- White Orchid
- White Rose
- Pink Peony
- White Peony
- White Calla Lily
- White-Pink Rose
- White Dahlia
- Pink Dahlia

Pinch me! I asked FI if he could have 1 color, what color would it be? "Blue." If I could have 1 color, it would be "Pink." Pink and Blue never crossed my mind for a December Wedding. Blue to FI was refreshing and calming...Pink to me was soft and romantic.
Excited to say, "We picked our Colors, finally!" Indigo-Midnight Blue, Pale Pink, & Silver as the accent color. It's the two of us! As you can see on the "I" Board I created, these colors definitely compliment one another!
Who doesn't love Bling? Hello Kitty Bling that is. I decided to tempt my friends with a "ring" and invitation to be my Bridesmaid.
I asked each one in person but my down South bestie got a special delivery in the mail. My intentions were to make them smile and feel like a princess one more time. They are free to wear it day of, I should have got one for myself!
My Bridesmaids "struck a pose" with their new ring! A few of them loved it, one is still wearing it, and one told me she hasn't owned anything Hello Kitty since she was a "kid."
My Matron of Honor, Amelia L.! I met her in Core Class in the 9th Grade! We read each other "like a book!" She opened my card and skimmed straight to "Will you be my Matron of Honor?" It was typical and so her... we laugh, talk, cry over tv, and drool over NKOTB. She is the sweetest person...
My Maid of Honor, come September, my Matron of Honor, Jamie W! I met her through a friend and then we were in the same Business Fraternity! Asian "Reese Witherspoon!" Really, she is! I look up to her, she is my P Shopper J and I am her P Shopper M! I have been inspired by her since the day I met her...
My Bridesmaid, Hera C.! I followed her in the 3rd grade and asked if I could sit by her. Since then, she's been my bestie! 17 years!!! She lets me be me and she's blunt. She is always down for anything and open to new things! She's strong and I love that about her! 17+ more years to go...
My Bridesmaid, Jen T. aka "Jen Butt!" I met her in Middle School but our friendship is growing stronger by the day. Her energy and excitement in everything she does motivates me! She brings out the best in me, she supports me, and she tells me that after 30, I can't use my tokidoki bags anymore...
My Bridesmaid, Vera C.! I met her through a friend 2 years ago and our love for pigs, hello kitty, and tokidoki sealed our friendship immediately! We make jewelry and craft when we can! We can talk for hours, be dorks together, but most of all, we always understand one another! We like Incredible Hulkies, too...
"Goddess," chronicles the history of classical influence on fashion with a group of magnificent and impractical dresses.
I have always envisioned my Bridesmaid dresses before my very own Wedding gown, probably even before the proposal. I love magical, romantic, & glamorous touches for the BM dresses. Especially in the Winter time, fur caplets, gloves, diamonds, & feathers. Floor-length is gorgeous!
My BM Jen and I came across Bari Jay designs, chic and affordable. For now, I have narrowed it down to these options to fit my BM's personalities and showcase their greatest assets. Navy Blue will be the base color with touches of Petal (pale pink) for the details. I want to play up 2 different fabrics, Chiffon & Satin.
Here is an example of the Navy Blue in Chiffon & Satin:
For my MOH's, I fell in love with these:
For my BM's, I fell in love with these:
{{Update - 4/25/09: Our 1st Trip to look for BM dresses, my BM's ended up loving Bari Jay Designs and we're all DONE! My picks were 3/5, not too bad at all! =p }}
3 of my BM's loved their dresses after trying them on, I was so happy! First 3 dresses above*
Both MOH's tried on the dresses that I chose for them but the shock factor was how "DEEP the V" was...yikes! I had them try on other styles and finally, we found the winners 2 hours later!
See below:
(Images: Bari Jay)
All dresses in Navy with Petal (pale pink) as the accent color. I will add a brooch to the MOH dresses to coordinate with the BM dresses!
I can't wait to see them all together in the same color, especially on the Girls! ☺
{{Update - 8/7/09: The BM Dresses have arrived! I inspected them for snags, loose threads and left one dress behind! They came with matching shawls and I love, love them! My BM's are going to look gorgeous in them!}}
Anyone who knows me, knows I despise "heels" with a passion. Flats to me is like wearing underwear everyday! My feet only know Tory Burch! ☺
Okay, reality wise, I know I can't get away with flats for the wedding, well not until the end of night festivities.
If and when I do wear heels, they are "kitten" heels, 2.5 inches or less. I told myself to get over heels (3 inches+) and wear them occasionally so I don't hurt and fall myself day of. I know that my pop of color will come from my flower fascinator, jewelry, garter, & shoes.
Pale Pink Satin or Navy Satin is what my ♥ desires! Please send me shoe inspirations if you find any!
(Images: Zappos)
More Badgley Mischka shoes from their Bridal line ♥♥♥
{{Update- 6/24/09: I ordered these shoes by Bourne but unfortunately they did not wo rk out, the search still continues but I did find my Beach Sandals!}}
I can wear them when we take pics on the Beach (rain or shine)! My BM Jen found them for me over the weekend! I wanted these for sooooo long!
Juicy Couture Frankie
Drool, love the starfish!
{{Update- 7/16/09: I was at my favorite store, Nordstrom Rack and what do I stumble upon? Pinch me... A pair a Cole Haan/Nike Air shoes from their Bridal Line! I am a big fan of "comfort" as every bride is, so when I saw these, I grabbed them w/o even trying them on!}}
They were a Size 7.5 and I was definitely pushing it b/c my true size is 8. If it was meant to be, they would "fit." I took them home and they fit perfectly, no heel hanging out or foot rolls. Whew! "Traditional" color seems to be catching my eye lately.
Did I happen to mention they were only $49.90 ?!?!?!?! Not a typo...still retails in the stores at $350+! (pats back) It was meant to be!
{{Update- 10/28/09: I wasn't sold on the CH's so I decided to look for some "blingy" shoes!}}
I have gone back and forth with finding the right shoe. Colors, texture, height...
Enzo Angiolini Silver on Gold Merryann Pumps (Nordstrom)
{{Update- 12/01/2009: Okay, I changed my mind once again! Adventures of the Wedding Shoes! I found these on Zappos last minute and will be sticking with these on the BIG day!}}
Martinez Valero Brit (Zappos)
My cousin Maddie will be our Junior Bridesmaid, who turns 9 this August! At first, FI and I asked her to be our Flower girl and then thought, she is quite the "young" lady and we would be honored to have her stand with my BM's.
She loves to dress up, speaks French, & plays golf better than FI & I. My Mother buys her leopard print gifts every year for her Birthday or Christmas. The funny thing is, she loves to wear it! Maddie sports her tall "leopard" print boots all the time!
I love the Bari Jay Collection as you can see. Mini versions of the BM dresses, too cute but chic!
(Bari Jay)
I ♥ the above dresses for her. The base color will be Petal (pale pink) and Navy as the details for the trim.
For shoes, matte or metallic silver pending on which dress she picks. If you have any shoes suggestions, please let me know.
(Images: Zappos)
My mother ended up making Maddie's gown, the base was pale pink and her silver ruffled shoes!

Hair & Makeup Trial #1
Giao Nguyen worked her magic and poof...my eyes appeared larger than ever!
I had the opportunity to work with a dynamic couple, Giao & Thai! FI & I had an Engagement Session/ Makeup-Hair Trial this past Saturday and let me describe this couple in 1 word: AWESOME
I unfortunately did not do my homework, so I had no inspirational pictures to show Giao. I did not get a chance to take a picture of my makeup before the session.
(Images: Thai Mai)
She will be doing Makeup/Hair for both Mothers and Hair for all my BM's.

We ♥ Thai Mai of Thai Mai Photography! FI and I had a blast working with Thai and his partner in crime, Giao of QG Designs! She is a talented Makeup/Hair Stylist who also custom designs hairpieces, fabulous ones!
We started our "Marathon" in the earlier part of the afternoon, mapping our trek to the Mission, Ferry Building, Embarcadero, Twin Peaks, and Civic Center in the beautiful city of where else, San Francisco!
The last picture was taken around 11:00 PM, yes, 11:00 PM! It is obvious that Thai loves what he does b/c we literally shot photos for 7+ hours, it was worth it, definitely! Thai and Giao, we thank you for all your creativity, miracles, and patience! You captured the love we have for one another in photos, now, that's rare!
"What's PDA?"...says Thai ☺
What I dread the most about planning a Wedding, is finding the gown. I've changed my mind a number of times, color, fabric, fit, neckline, you name it! My 2nd trek to the Boutiques went okay but the search still continues. I want the tears and knowing that the gown I try on, it's the one! (Mom's approval of course)
I came home and did more browsing online and I saw 3 dresses that I definitely have to try on from Maggie Sottero. I wasn't too fond of corset tie backs but they're growing on me, her designs curve every body type, it's amazing!
Maggie Sottero
Spring 2010 Collection; Fiorella
Spring 2010 Collection; Summer Royale
Sottero & Midgley
(Images: Maggie Sottero)
I am hoping that the Spring 2010 Collection comes out soon or at least in the next month, I have a deadline! Cross your fingers!
As for the Sottero & Midgley gown, I love the cascading pale pink/white flowers, the fit, and the crystals! I can't wait to locate this gown and try it on. Update once I find the one, promise!
{{Update- 6/01/09: I am so bummed, the MG 2010 Spring Line does not hit stores until August-September! I was temptedto post pone the Wedding, lol! The 3rd Dress by Sottero & Midgley, no one has it for me to see in person and no one is ordering it, yikes!}}
Jean, my Bridal Consultant at BAB found quite a few dresses for me to try on. I didn't feel any oohs or awes until she showed me the Casablanca 1951! It caught my eye immediately! I tried it on, gasp! I felt like a Bride for the first time!
I never considered this fit/style/design/fabric but to my surprise, loved it.
Casablanca 1951
(Images: Casablanca)
I had my trusty cell phone camera to capture the detailing b/c it looks so much prettier in person! I had a blush veil on too, it was gorgeous! I think this may be the one. Next up, Mom needs to see it!
I need to F-I-N-D this one to try on as well!
Casablanca 1900
(Images: Casablanca)
{{Update- 6/07/09: Brought Mom to BAB on Sunday and tried on more dresses including the Casablanca 1900. Mom was concerned on how "poofy" the bottom looked but rest assured, the dress was not in my true size. We can always remove crinoline or one of the petticoats.}}
What do you know, they do let you take pictures, sigh! My face will never show in case FI stumbles across this page.
The search still continues, Mom's not a big fan of the poofy "factor" or the fabric. We're trying this one on next...it does look similar.
Maggie Sottero Ruby
(Images: Maggie Sottero)
{{Update- 6/12/09: I made another appointment at Rin's Bridal to see "Ruby" and also pull other styles to try on! To my surprise, Mom picked a winner but it didn't stop there. I was in love with, not 1, not 2, but 3!}}
1st Dress: Allure P784 (can't find it online anywhere)
(Unknown Source)
Mom loved it and so did I but it was missing something so we put on a $450 Marissa Sash on (yes, $450) to add some sparkle. I forgot my camera, so my trusty cell phone snapped away.
2nd Dress: Maggie Sottero Ruby (see online pictures from 6/07/09 update)
Mom loved this one too much b/c she was sold already. The detailing, train, bustle, and most of all the fit. After 2 dresses, she is telling me to stop, "Don't try on anymore, they get better each time you come out."
3rd Dress: Casablanca 1920
Okay, I was really going to stop b/c I felt an instant "love" connection with the above 2 dresses. But that tiered one I pulled, I have to try it on. I'll regret it....so here goes...I ran out to show my Mom b/c I was overly excited!
(Images: Casablanca)
Warning: The tiers should fall more loosely (dress is 3 sizes too small) This dress is gorgeous, simply gorgeous! My Mom, yes, loved this one too. After agreeing to Dress 1 and encouraging me to get the sash, to Dress 2 urging me to stop trying on anymore, to Dress 3 figuring out which one was me.
It comes down to Dress 2 & Dress 3 (see above) Decisions, decisions! I need to order by the end of this month!
All dresses are in Pearl/Ivory/Champagne*
{{Update- 6/26/09: After asking my BM's and fellow PW Gals, I made my decision! Thank you to everyone who put their input in!}}
http://www.projectwedding.com/post/list/narrowed-it-down-to-2-dresses-i-need-your-help
I bought the Maggie Sottero Ruby (Dress #2) this evening and I am so excited! I chose the Ivory with Pewter accent. I am nervous about altering the "top" of the dress but I'll just be patient for now... October, November, RUBY arrives!
When I first joined PW, I found inspiration from JDWeddingDay, read mucho posts from d1rtymart1n1, and loved prismis proposal story...who would have thought I would finally meet them and more!
The support, honesty, advice from fellow PW Girls have been amazing! It is so nice to finally put a face, bio page, pw nickname with a face! The new friendships that develop through PW have been growing day by day!
I look forward to meeting more PW Girls around the globe!

For invitations, I was all over the place! DIY? Buy? I decided on Wedding Paper Divas, they had excellent customer service and their turn around time was 2 days!
I wanted something very simple, no flourish, no design. When I saw, "Will You?" I fell in love instantly. I made the card with our custom colors (Navy and Petal Pink) and they turned out perfect!
My MOH worked on the map, it was adorable!
FI and I have been looking at Tuxes and color swatches for the past few months. FI was under the impression that he would wear silver as the accent color and his GM would wear pink. We have been changing our minds back and forth. From him wearing all white to the GM wearing pink ties and white vests. We even discussed bow ties, I really think FI would look charming in one! Cummerbund=No.
Groom's Attire
During my Senior Year in High School, I saw a bakery called "The Cakery" being built on Burlingame Avenue. I filled out an application and got the job! I learned everything about the baking business, assisted in cake designs, and eventually worked with couples to help them choose their very own Wedding cake. I ended up working there after school & during the Holidays when I was back home from College!
I even brought a fake Wedding cake to my class and showed them "How to order the Perfect Wedding Cake." I watched Robert & Hilmar (the Owners) create Wedding cakes every weekend and dreamt of my very own.
"12 years later, I pop my head into the Cakery and Robert's response to the engagement, 'It's about time!"
FI and I had a cake tasting appointment and it felt so surreal but yummy! We didn't know where to start...
#1 Raspberry, Ganache, Devil's Food cake
#2 Lemon Cream, White cake
#3 Strawberry Cream, White cake
#4 Raspberry, Truffle Chocolate, Devil's Food cake
#5 Mango Cream, White cake
#6 Kahlua Cream, Apricot, White cake
We decided on options 3 & 4! We will have a 3-Tier Cake, 14"+10"+7" Rounds; pure white Fondant iced
Additional Sheet Cake: Swedish Princess (Marzipan iced, raspberry, custard, whip cream, white cake)
Robert made us HUGE samples!
FI said I can OWN this project, design, choose, and order the Wedding cake! Sounds easy but it isn't...
I can finally say, "I..." envision a pure white Fondant iced cake, edible silver and pearl beads, silver dust, and an intricate design.
My Inspiration
Since our venue is by the water, I really love the 1st cake. The lines look like calming waves and the floral/stripes/scrolls on the other cakes scream classic and timeless!

Growing up, I would always remember what was inside the spare room closet. There was a black satin garment bag that had the "dress" inside. It wasn't her Wedding dress or something for me, it was her dress to wear on her son or daughter's special day.
I am the first one to get married so will my Mom pull out that dress? She tells me it's outdated and I believe her. Hello? She's had it since I was in Middle School. I can tell you this...it was a suit jacket, long dress, lace, and sequins! I can't recall the color, I wonder why!
When FI proposed, all my Mom could talk about was finding the dress after I chose mine. She is a big fan of St. John and that's pretty much her style when it comes to elegant & classic pieces! I get a call from her while I am at work and she tells me, "I found the dress, I'm at Saks, meet me there."
I arrive to Saks and as I'm looking around, I see a mannequin wearing a black dress with a high collar. I immediately tell my Mom "this is totally you." What does she have in her hand? The same dress in this beautiful shade of Currant/Caviar.
When she walked out with the dress on, I was floored. My Mom looked gorgeous, she wore the dress, it wasn't over the top, and it looked like it was m ade for her! Here's a sneak peak:
Fall 2009
(Image: Unknown Source)
What she loves about her dress: the designer of course, the fit, color, & collar. It cost the same as my Wedding dress (she repeated this 10 times) but she went for it! We'll pair this dress with a black cashmere pashmina and black heels!
I'm going shopping with my FMIL for her dress, will keep you posted.
{{Update- 11/08/2009: My FMIL and I finally went shopping this past Thursday. We ended up finding everyday accessories and shoes faster then her dress! After trying on countless dresses, we ended up at Nordstrom with an Adrianna Papell dress! What a steal!}}
(Images: Nordstrom)
We chose gold toned jewelry and a beautiful violet Nordstrom Cashmere Wrap to add a pop of color! Shoes will be our next shopping trip.
(Image: Nordstrom)
If you didn't know already, I love accessories! They compliment what you're wearing, reflect your personality, and they add that extra "umph!" Colors, patterns, textures, bling, you name it! I am looking forward to picking pieces that reflect me and the Hollywood glam I'm looking for.
Veil
(Image: Source Unknown)
I want a Chapel or Cathedral veil with minimal detailing. Lace or scalloped edges and crystal beads or pearls scattered throughout the veil.
I have narrowed it down to the following trims and sparkles:
Simple mesh, no trim or detailing*
Decisions, decisions!
{{Update- 10/30/2009: I ended up choosing a simple mesh, no trim or detailing Chapel length veil! It's perfect!}}
Hair Bling
I will be working with Giao Nguyen where she will create a few hairpieces for the Ceremony & Reception. I am open to anything pret ty much, pale pink/white hues, crystals, pearls, & feathers! One main hairpiece and one headband. After seeing the ones Giao created for Pris, I want more!
My Inspiration
{{Update- 12/02/2009: Giao created a gorgeous "statement" piece for my big day!}}

FI and I finally decided on the islands that we wanted to visit for the HM! Maui and Kauai! We booked our flights and we're getting ready to priceline resorts. I bought a few Maxi dresses, coverups, & swimsuits so far! It's the best time to buy b/c there are sales galore everywhere!
I had to share my HM buys with you! I am a Juicy crazed fan!
Next up, cute hats & accessories!
{{Update- 11/14/2009: Who doesn't need tunics for your HM? I couldn't pass up these Vix Hermanny printed tunics!}}
FI & I had our 1st Tasting at Oceano a few weeks back! The food was delish and all their vegetables were grown in their garden!
Can I start off by saying it was 20 years since FI's parents saw each other! They both agreed to joining my parents for the Tasting. I was hopeful while FI was nervous. To our surprise, it went well and our families enjoyed good food & good company! I was smiling the entire night... to see our families together for the first time was wonderful! Our Coordinator Nancy had FI & I come back for another tasting this past Wednesday! Braised Short Ribs & Sea Bass. They served us 3 entrees, gasp!
Round 2
Braised Short ribs with vegetables & potato pancake & Sea Bass with vegetables & mashed potatoes
FI & I enjoyed their vegetables especially the orange tomatoes! We are torn between the Fillet Mignon and Braised Short ribs! We're sold on the Sea Bass. What a dining experience!
One word to describe my Bridal Shower = PERFECT
My lovely Bridesmaids threw an amazing Alice in Wonderland themed Tea Party a few weeks back at my parents house! My parents raved about how organized and "on-top" they were! Each and every one of my BM's brought their creativity & fun into this event.
I can't THANK them enough for all their hard work, patience, and support throughout planning my Bridal Shower! They went above and beyond, I'm a lucky bride to be!
This first thing I saw were mushrooms, poms, vibrant colors, and pictures of FI & I! I was in love!
Details
Any Guest who said "Neil" or "Wedding" would lose a Ladybug Pin and whoever had the most at the end of the day, would win a prize! I said NEIL a lot!
All the tea sized food was scrumptious!
"Bridal Jeopardy & What's in your Purse?" was too much FUN!
Lingerie galore, not embarrassing at all!
Naked Cupcakes for the "Design a Cupcake Challenge."
Swedish Princess Cake from Dad
My Lovely BM's at the end of the day
The games, Cupcake challenge, food, gifts, & company of family and friends was just what I wanted! I have the BEST BM's, hands down! My family and family friends have been raving about them ever since and look forward to the wedding, no pressure ladies!
My ♥ was literally beating fast as FI & I arrived to the County Clerk's Office this morning! FI looked at me and said, "You're stuck with me for good!" I told him stuck was an understatement, lol! After we received our license, I think my nerves got the best of me! I can't believe the BIG day is on it's way, gasp!
I have been back for 1 week but loved every second, minute of my Bachelorette Party in Scottsdale, AZ! My friend and I bumped into Jaci at the Airport as well!
We stayed at the Scottsdale Resort & Spa and started with Happy Hour! Margarita FUN! That night, we ended up in a local bar with jello shots! I admit, mine was still there at the end of the night! I tried, really!
That evening, I gave the girls their Bachelorette Party Goodie Bags! It was hard to sneak them on the plane but some of the BM's managed to ask all day what was inside!
I filled their eco-friendly bag with gum, snacks, candy, headbands, flip flops/tights, & a "Michelle in the City" ring!
The 2nd day, I had my very 1st massage (Massage Virgin)! I was a little hesitant but it was a gift from my girlfriends, I couldn't say no. After a 50 minute Swedish massage, I wanted it to last longer! I am definitely looking forward to my next massage!
It was close to a hundred degrees, so one of my BM's and I were wrapped like burritos in towels by the pool!
That evening, we got ready for Mastro's City Hall Steakhouse! 1 word=DELISH! But before we headed over, the girls hosted an "Underwear" Game! A stack of underwear where I had to guess who they were from! I was horrible at the game, probably b/c I was surrounded by "floss" and "g" strings galore, gasp!
My Girls
After an evening with grey goose and fun, we ended the night with a Robot dance and snoring! That morning, we had some steak leftovers with Cup o Noodles and packed up!
Thank You to my girlfriends who hosted the BEST Bachelorette Party!
I have been searching for the perfect "dancing" dress to wear during my Reception. I went through 2 dresses, one being too low cut and the other too casual. Yesterday, I found the dress at Bloomingdale's! I purchased my very 1st Diane von Furstenberg! I spotted it from a mile away, gorgeous ink flowers in shades of navy blue & pale pink. It was exactly what I was looking for! It was the last one and in my size, totally meant to be! SOLD!

Below is the shorter version of my dress so you can see the detailing on top.

I will pair the dress with a rare "Natasha" Hair piece that my BM picked up for me at the Nordstrom down South! I lucked out because the Royal is sold out everywhere here!
We enjoyed working with Jen of Jennifer Skog Photography! FI and I met her in Dublin and headed over to Downtown Pleasanton for our one hour e-session. Jen was the 1st vendor we booked as part of our Wedding "All Star Team!"
We had so many proofs to pick from! You wouldn't believe we were in Pleasanton b/c the backdrops were gorgeous! Jen was adamant about "field" pictures and found the perfect area! Enjoy some of our favorite shots!
We look forward to working with Jen and her team on December 6th!
Diamonds for the Big Day
I always thought I would borrow jewelry from my Mom b/c the only diamond that I own is my engagement ring. To my surprise, I received a lot of jewelry from my family during Cookie Day. I will be wearing all the gold pieces during Toasting and the diamonds during the Wedding.
My Mom had these earrings made for me. They're tiny butterflies made of diamonds with a drop pearl.
My Grandmother had this bracelet made for me. A link styled bracelet with round diamonds. It's gorgeous!
Still debating on a necklace, will keep you posted!
Wedding Bands
We had 2 of the 3 wedding bands designed. I loved how they turned out and every night, I try my band on! The 1st one is FI's, he wanted some bling so we kept it classic with a touch of 5 small round diamonds. The 2nd one is for me, it's just perfect from every angle. 5 round diamonds sit on top with detailing on the side and a pave style throughout.
Side Details
I did say 2 of the 3 bands were personally designed...the 3rd band was for FI! We decided on a Benchmark with miligrain edging for the times he travels for work. Lucky duck! 2nd picture is a better view.
Costume Jewelry for Dancing
I found some beautiful pieces at Nordstrom with my FMIL. We decided on vintage inspired Chandelier earrings and bracelet! This would look perfect with my dancing dress!
Nadri Earrings
Badgley Mischka Couture Bracelet
This bracelet was my biggest splurge but worth every penny!
Our Family & Wedding Party met at our venue, Oceano the morning before the Wedding!
It was beautiful that morning with the sun peeking out! Weather reports were mixed with a slight chance of rain the next day. I think everyone had their fingers crossed!
Our Jr. BM and Ring Bearer hit it off instantly! Cory was holding Madisen's hand within minutes!
We decided to have a "Rehearsal Lunch" instead of a dinner. Who doesn't love Dim Sum?
Our Wedding Party met up for Dinner that evening, drinks and all!
We headed back to practice our Intro Dance (paired up BM & GM) and passed out Swag for the Wedding Party. Ignore the mess!
All in all, the entire day and evening before the Wedding was a BLAST! I had 3 hours of sleep but stay tuned for my Wedding Recap!
DH & I decided that we wanted to go to our HM right away. We definitely needed a vacation, just the two of us. I have only been to Hawaii once, when I was 2 or 3. I wanted to save Hawaii for our Honeymoon! After coming back, I can tell you it was definitely worth the wait! We left 4 days after our wedding and headed to our first stop, Maui!
