The proposal was not at all what I had expected but it was so perfect and exactly what I wanted: a surprise.
Long story short...It was December 22, 2007. I was in my pjs, both of our families were there, and it was a COMPLETE surprise! When he went down on one knee, pulled out the box and asked me to marry him, I was in complete shock and was silent for a few seconds. I was then able to muster "shut up, are you serious?" After saying "shut up" a few more times I finally said YES!! We hugged and kissed for what seemed like forever. And then we were able to celebrate with our families.
