Why We Chose Our Venue

From when we began the planning process, I knew that I wanted a low key, fun, and romantic wedding. My FI suggested that we do a destination wedding and I was instantly on board. It was perfect! I've always dreamed of getting married on the beach and although I love Houston dearly, I wasn't going to find a beachy locale nearby.

We decided to take a mini trip to Cancun to check out some possible venues. We both love Mexico and thought that a Mexican DW would be ideal. However, we had some last minute complications with our trip and at the last minute, changed our plans to go to Key West. I had never been but my FI swore that I'd love it and he was SO right. 

The whole trip was last minute and the Ocean Key Resort was one of the first hotels that showed up when I was making reservations, so I just booked it without thinking too much. Once we arrived, I just knew that this was the perfect location for our wedding. It was perfect! Key West embodies the relaxed, quirky, and romantic vibe that I've always dreamed my wedding would be like.
