We still have a long way before we get married and are saving every penny for the party and for life afterward. I found out about the Sunshine Rewards site from another D!sney Bride. It's a great site that allows you cash back rewards on purchases. Most people shop online anyway, so it's great that a lot of popular merchants are on the site and allow for a rebate of sorts. It's not a lot. Most are between 2-11% back but it does add up over time. I plan to cash out on D!sney gift cards to help pay for the wedding, but you can get gift cards for other things if D!sney isn't your thing. I wasn't sure about it at first, so I've mostly earned money through surveys. So far so good! SR helps its members find coupons, discounts, and free shipping and helps them make money by taking legitimate surveys. They also have a forum where people have made a ton of friends. I kinda feel good supporting a business that was started by just a regular person. Tricia Meyer began SR in 2006 so that she could spend more time with her children and help friends save money shopping online. She eventually hired her own mother and her best friend to work with her.
They have a lot of merchants related to weddings so I'm sure this could help us all as we try to find the best deals for our big day. :D Hopefully I can keep racking in the dough to at least save for the honeymoon. *crossing fingers*
EDIT 9/16/10: I ended up cashing in my Sunshine Rewards points for a $250 Disney Gift Card which we ended up using to pay for one of the nights at our Disney hotel for our mini-moon at Disneyland. It took 6 weeks for it to arrive so luckily I had the foresight to order it in early July so it had plenty of time to arrive for our August wedding. :)
