I have a PhD in Biochemistry so I guess you could say I am a geek. What I really love is teaching and I finally have a tenure track position starting in the fall.
I live in CT but will move to MA in less than a Month. I grew up in MA so as a result, I am a fan of all Boston sports, especially the Patriots. :)
I love to ski, love crafts and love winter.
I am also a 100% natural red head and love being one - even though it means I probably own stock in Coppertone.
My Fiancee and I took photos in June with my very talented co-worker. He an amateur and does photography as a hobby. As these photos show, he is amazingly talented!

Here is what my ladies will be wearing. Luckily I chose an empire cut - I just found out one of my girls is preggers. Hopefully the dress will still work! I have told my BMs to each choose their own silver shoes.

My grandmother and I will make shawls for each of the girls. One side will be a silver satin the other will be this:

It is a super soft and warm fabric. Perfect for December!
Our wedding is in December. It seemed fitting to have a winter wedding as my fiancee proposed in December, we live in New England and love to ski. Plus I was born during a blizzard so you could say I was BORN to have a winter wedding. Finally, I L-O-V-E Christmas! I wanted favors that were unique and I wanted a fun DIY project. I found patterns for "quilted ornaments" online and I fell in love.
Here is a picture of our final product:
If it weren't for my grandmother, I don't think we would ever finish them. We are almost done. I can't wait to hear what people think at the wedding. I love 'em though!
If you want to make some of these yourself, here is an article I wrote about them!
I wanted to continue with our Winter/Christmas theme for our centerpieces. I also wanted something a little different and fun. I came up with these light Christmas Box centerpieces based on one my Stepmother has. I like how they look like little presents and are lit up with Christmas lights.
I only made one for a prototype and we just got in all the boxes to make the rest. I can't wait to make them. I love the DIY stuff!!!
Here are a couple of pictures:
I posted an article on how to make these as well - you can find that one here.
I can't wait to see a bunch of them made. I hope they light up the tables!
