to meet her.
my name is jackie and i am 21 years old. i am a SENIOR(woohoo!!) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, majoring in healthcare administration. i love kids, animals, and spending time with people i love.
to meet him.
his name is nick and he is 24 years old. he is a junior in college, majoring in criminal justice. he currently works at a local middle school, as a campus security monitor. he is lover of kids, animals, and me:). he hopes to one day be a juvenile probation officer or part of the gang task force unit.
to meet us.
we met in high school through a mutual friend. i kept seeing him all around the hallways. i finally asked him if he was stalking me and he said it was just a coincidence that his classes were in the same areas as mine...we were friends for about 4 months and then he asked me to be his valentine:). on our date night he brought me a BIG teddy bear and chocolates i believe. we went to the movies on our first date, we saw shanghai nights...i fell asleep:). the rest is history.
to propose.
we had been together for 5 years and since we are pretty young i did not expect anything close to what my 5 year anniversary present was. FI would ask me to marry him all the time and i would simply say "you're crazy, no!" because it was so informal and i knew he was playing around. well this time he wasn't playing...i had to work that day...at that time i was a preschool teacher in a room full of loud, hyper 4 year olds. my FI walked in the room with his friend with a huge smile on his face. i wasn't expecting anything else..since he had already had beautiful valentine's day flowers delivered to my work:). well, he came over to me...i knew something was weird because he was smiling from ear to ear and his best friend who was with him kept walking into the classroom and my FI told him to wait in the hall...repeatedly, so i could tell somethingw as going on..., he got down on one knee.....kids screaming and jumping around everywhere...and asked me to marry him as he opened a black box with a wood framed top...the box was empty. i was confused...and i looked at him questionably and he pulled a beautiful ring out of his pocket. i kept saying, no! no! nick, no!! because at that time i felt like we were still too young to even think about marriage. after many many "no's", i gave him a huge hug and said "yes!". after a couple of hours of letting the shock wear off, i cried:(...and then remembered that we have video cameras in all of our classrooms so of course i had to go back and see what a fool i looked like! unfortunatley there was a sign hanging right in front of the camera...i know, just my luck..so you could see my FI get down on one knee and then me hug him...that's all..i suppose that's the most important part tho:). my FI was really upset that i said no...a million times, which made me sad:(...but i told him that i always knew i'd marry him..just didn't realize it would be this soon! now im happier than ever...he is so perfect, and i am so blessed.
to plan.
The wedding planning is underway! I officially sent out the letter to reserve the park that we plan to wed at on Saturday, so here goes nothing! We plan to wed April 10, 2010 and I also plan on doing a lot of DIY projects, wish me luck!!!:)
For Starters....I believe my inspiration board to look something along the lines of this...
I'm not really into all the glitter and glam so I chose a really simple look from Alfred Angelo:
<~~~~~Me in it!! I LOVE it! It's everything I wanted!
*MOH will of course wear one color, the bridesmaids will wear the other:). LOVE LOVE LOVE this dress from David's Bridal!

*We live in Henderson, NV very very close to Las Vegas. However, we wanted to do the opposite of a traditional Vegas wedding, and make it more personalized. On the other side of Henderson is Boulder City. Our friends got married at this park, and we fell in love with it and decided to do the same. The big horn sheep roam free without hurting a soul.....it's so serene with the lake in the background...truly amazing!
So perfect for a shower....

Our cake is below! We went to our cake tasting and they had our exact cake in their portfolio! Can you say meant to be?!?! :)

I love love love this, it's so elegant....I'm thinking with all white flowers though considering our colors are tiffany blue and damask....
And I love how serene and elegant this set up is...our venue is overlooking the lake so hopefully it will be just as beautiful. But I also want white chairs...simply because white is so classy:).
Jaclyn, please face Nicholas, and hold his hands, palms up, so you may see the gift that they are to you.
These are the hands
of your best friend, young and strong and vibrant with love, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as he promises to love you all the days of his life.
These are the hands that will work along side yours, as together you build your
future, as you laugh and cry, as you share your innermost secrets and dreams.
These are the hands that look so large and strong, yet will be so gentle as he holds your child for the first time.
These are the hands that will work long hours for
you and your new family.
These are that hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness.
These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes: tears of sorrow and
tears of joy.
These are the hands that will comfort you in illness, and hold you when fear or grief overwhelm you.
These are the hands that will tenderly lift your chin and brush your cheek as they raise your face to look into his eyes:
eyes that are filled completely with his overwhelming love and desire for you.
Nicholas, please hold Jaclyn’s hands, palms up, where you may see the gift that they are to you.
These are the hands of your best friend, smooth, young
and carefree, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as she promises to love you all the days of her life.
These are the hands that will hold each child in tender love, soothing them through illness and hurt, supporting and encouraging
them along the way, and knowing when it is time to let go.
These are the hands that will hold you tight as you struggle through difficult times
These are the hands that will comfort you when you are sick, or console you when you are
grieving.
They are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness.
These are the hands that will give you support as she encourages you to chase down your dreams. Together as a team,
everything you wish for can be realized.
Bless these hands that you see before you this day. May they always be held by one another. Give them the strength to hold on during the storms of stress and the dark of disillusionment. Keep them tender
and gentle as they nurture each other in their wondrous love. Help these hands to continue building a relationship founded in grace, rich in caring, and devoted to reaching for perfection. May Nicholas and Jaclyn see their four hands as healer,
protector, shelter and guide.
Give the highest priority to the tenderness, gentleness and kindness that your connection deserves. When frustration, difficulty or fear assail your relationship - as they threatened all relationships at one time or
another - remember to focus on what is right between you, not only the part that seems wrong.
In this way, you can ride out the times when clouds hide the face of the sun in your lives - remembering that even if you lose sight of it for a
moment, the sun is still there.
And if each of you takes responsibility for the quality of your lives together, your life together will be marked by abundance and delight.
Inasmuch as you have consented together in this ceremony to live in
wedlock and have sealed your vows in the presence of this company and by the giving of these rings, it gives me great pleasure to pronounce that you are Husband and Wife.
Congratulations, you may kiss the bride!
the moh.
shuchi was the first friend that i had at my brand new high school, in a brand new city, my freshman year. i was scared to death in my gym class and she walked up to me with her tall, lanky, goofy self and asked if i wanted to sit with her and her friends...we've been best friends ever since:).

arianna...the highlight of my life, the apple of my eye...my flower girl! i love her so much, she was unquestionably my flower girl before she was even born! this pic was taken in january, so she is much bigger now and fully capable of walking down the aisle like a big girl:). i can't wait!
I plan on using these on my cake table. I purchased some damask wrapping paper from Michaels and traced the letters, then applied the paper to the letter with clear scrapbooking adhesive. Oh! I painted them my wonderful Tiffany Blue first! Easy, easy, easy!! :)
Our Invites!! Finally finished! *Phew* I bought damask stamps from Joann's for like 4 bucks!! They were on sale! I stamped all of them....my arms ached the next day, haha! But here they are!
Here's my cardbox! I purchased a regular box from Michaels, wrapped it with the Damask paper, added a little ribbon and a little bling, and WAH-LAH!!! :) Easy again!!
