Groom telling the story...
I will start by saying "y todo comenzo bailando." (everything began while dancing). Though I've told this story many times to various friends and family very few know that the sum of the events that led to our wonderful union started with a series of events that can only be explained by assigning the most appropriate word that comes to mind; Destiny.
Step 1 - The first meeting. The latino community had been called on to perform and compete in a salsa competition, hosted by FIA ( Latino Fraternity ) at the college we both attended, SUNY New Paltz. I met her in Gage hall for the first time, during a salsa dancing program that Jose Dill hosted. At the time she formed part of a group composed of three women that went by the name "Freak-a-lation." I was producing, editing and shooting film for a show called Fiebre Latina, which Jose Dill Garcia, Melissa Negron and Yesenia Soliman hosted as well as special events that the campus held during that time, such as Latino Week. So I had previously filmed some of their shows and had never met her. Interestingly enough I was beginning to be friends with her Matron of Honor, Rosanna Espinosa, whom I met in a women's study class (only male in the class, often harrassed for my radical 'Machista' thought provoking opinions) and whom I later found out was her roomate, 'Frekalation' member and more than that one of her best friend since H.S.
Step 2 - The event that brought us together. One thing to explain is that my friend Jose Dill and I were part of a dance troupe which performed regularly for events and competitions on/off campus, "Culture Shock!". Unfortunately, he broke his leg that year and was supposed to dance with Suleyni at a salsa competition. He asked me to take his place, but I was hesitant given that our first meeting had not been all that great, and my impression of her was that she had an attitude problem. Once I accepted, we started practicing at her suite, where I met and befriended her suitemates, Espi and Lui as well as Rosanna, her roomate. Over the next couple of weeks we became really close, and I started developing feelings for her.
We had a great time. Thanks to our parents for making it happen.
We donated to the St. Judes Childrens' Hospital and the American Diabetes Association and will present the bookmarks below to our guest-this is our way of saying "Thank You."
We chose these favors because two very important people in my FI life died of cancer and many of my family members have Diabetes.
This particular e-pic was a must for us to take! We met dancing :)
More purple flowers will be added to it...But I love it!
Bouquets
Dresses- The idea is for them to wear different tops, long chiffon dresses from Bari Jay. 6 of the girls will wear their dresses in Eggplant (dark shade of purple) and two of them (Matron and Maid of Honor) will wear their dresses in Raspberry (ligher shade of purple)
THEY ALL LOVE THEIR DRESSES! Thankfully :)

Being that we are only 2 months away and things are getting pretty hectic, I thought it would be a good idea to get us some "coupons." This will help us to not loose ourselves with the last minute planning/craziness :) I already used one of mines. LOL.
If interested, you can purchase them at Barnes and Noble.
