I love our little chapel! I just hope we can all squeeze in there. They are about to go in and replace all the carpeting and pew cushions, so it'll all be new when our wedding rolls around!

the color theme for the wedding is really just "Shades of Blue" (my whole wedding is my something blue!) but the main colors I pulled out are cornflower, pale blue, and ivory
which came from my main flower, blue hydrangea, which will be my bouquet
the accent flowers (and the ones my BM will have) are cream roses. I thought about doing just all hydrangea, but roses are cheaper and easier (important since we're DIY'ing the flowers!) plus give a little bit of variety.
The ribbon for the bouquets (and everyplace else we decide to use ribbon, besides the pew bows) we are making out of cornflower blue silk dupioni. I love the raw textured look, but it's still elegant fabric. The stuff we have isn't quite as dark as this pic.
A friend from work is making our cakes, so I decided to make it as simple as possible for her (and us, since we don't have anyone to cut and serve the cake!) and do mostly cupcakes. They'll just be plain white cake with white buttercream, but in cute baking cups and with a blue chocolate heart on top. Then the top tier on the stand will be an actual little cake so we can cut it. For his cake I asked her to make a soccer ball (he played college soccer). FI doesn't really like cake though so we're going to put the ball on a big cookie cake, covered in green frosting to look like grass.
with a blue bling cake topper on the top tier! another DIY project
My mom is making my garter. Blue (bet you never would have guessed that) with a horseshoe charm on it. Not just for luck - I have horses, so it means something to me to have a touch of them there.
For BM's dresses I am designating a store and color but letting them pick their own. My girls are all totally different shapes and sizes so I figured they'd be happiest if they could pick what was most flattering on them. The color is Cornflower from Alfred Angelo. This is my favorite style, I hope one of them picks it!
The groomsmen
Welcome to our own little Texas dancehall. :) I'm going to put a note on the reception cards in the invitations reminding everyone to bring their dancing boots.
Yup thats a big stage lol. The side door that's partially open in the pic is adjacent to
a wooden deck/patio area, and beyond that, the park.
furbabies, that is. :) our lives revolve around our animals!
First our dogs. The two big ones are FI's 12 year old lab/golden mixes. He's had them since they were puppies (they're from the same litter). The big guy is Pele, and the smaller is Pixie. The smallest dog is Stewie, my 3 year old Jack Russel mix.
Then I have two horses that take up most of my time and all of my money. First is Cruz, my 4 year old Thoroughbred. I just got him recently and broke him to ride, but eventually he's going to be a jumper. He's a big guy, but very sweet. FI rides a little but he isn't quite ready for Cruz yet. One of these days we'll get him his own horse.

My other horse is my little girl Sadie who was born on Mother's Day May 12, 2007. She was literally custom made for me.. I picked both her sire and her dam and she's been mine since conception! She too will be a jumper someday but she needs another year or so to grow before she's mature enough to be ridden.
sometimes she's a little too friendly
I'm only like halfway through it, still waiting on lots of pictures, but the main stuff is there!
Ok so it didn't take me as long to find a dress as I thought it would. But, I LOVE it. It's everything I wanted and more. So excited!!!
Go here to see some of the others that I tried on that didn't make the cut

Who gives this woman to be married to this man?
Join with me as we bow our heads to observe a moment of silence to honor the memory of those who are not with us today, but are here in spirit. (Pause briefly) Amen.
Welcome, one and all. How beautiful is the day that is touched by love! May this be a moment to be remembered and cherished. Marriage is a very special spiritual connection of two people united for a common purpose, bringing love and trust together into single focus. We have come together in the presence of God to witness and bless the joining of this man and this woman in Holy Matrimony.
The union of wife and husband in heart, body, and mind is intended by God for their mutual joy; for the help and comfort given one another in prosperity and adversity; and their nurture in the knowledge and love of God. Therefore marriage is not to be entered into lightly, but reverently, deliberately, and in accordance with the purposes for which it was instituted by God.
Into this holy union Andrew and Amanda now come to be joined.
With love, shared pain is lessened. With love, shared joy is increased. Love makes you stronger, so that you can reach out and live in ways you dared not risk alone. Let your love give you the strength to stand apart, to make your own contributions to the world. Love each other's families as your own. May you look upon each other's strengths with joy, accept each other's imperfections with understanding, and renew your love each and every day.
Someone once said: The most wonderful of all things in life, is the discovery of another human being with whom one's relationship has a growing depth, beauty and joy as the years increase.
This inner progressiveness of love between two human beings is a most marvelous thing; it cannot be found by looking for it or by passionately wishing for it. It's a Divine destiny.
We are together as friends, relatives and family to mark the end of one beginning and to recognize officially a new beginning, which for Andrew and Amanda serves as a public affirmation of their friendship and their love. They want this day to mean something special to you as guests. Those who are married may want to silently renew and reaffirm your vows today by gently taking the hand of your partner during this ceremony. Others may want to also join hands and think about what it means to be a friend, for marriage is built first on friendship.
Andrew and Amanda, the commitment to love that forms the heart of this marriage means that you will walk through the rest of your days with a true friend beside you, one you can laugh
with and cry with, grow old with and feel forever young with.
Today, your separate lives, each with your individual memories, desires and hopes, merge into one. May
your marriage bring you all the exquisite excitements a marriage should bring, and may life grant you also patience, tolerance, and understanding. May you always need one another -- not so much to fill your emptiness as to help you to know your
fullness. A mountain needs a valley to be complete. The valley does not make the mountain less, but more. And the valley is more a valley because it has a mountain towering over it. So let it be with you and you. May you need one another, but not out of
weakness. May you want one another, but not out of lack. May you entice one another, but not compel one another. May you embrace one another, but not out encircle one another. May you succeed in all-important ways with one another, and not fail in
the little graces. May you look for things to praise, often say, "I love you" and take no notice of small faults. If you have quarrels that push you apart, may both of you hope to have good sense enough to take the first step back. May you enter into
the mystery that is the awareness of one another's presence -- no more physical than spiritual, warm and near when you are side by side, and warm and near when you are in separate rooms or even distant cities. May you have happiness, and may you
find it making one another happy. May you have love, and may you find it loving one another.
We as your friends gathered here today, recognize for you a love that brings out your magnificence, a love that gives you the courage to stand apart and the willingness to stand together. When times call for you to be apart, may you always return to your togetherness in the same spirit of love that you are feeling here today.
Most of all, we want you, at the end of your lives on this planet, to look into each others eyes and be able to say: "Because you have loved me, you have given me faith in myself, and because I have faith in myself, I have loved my fellow man. My life with you has been complete."
Now, will you please turn and face one another and join hands to express your vows of love and devotion to one
another.
Andrew, will you please repeat after me: I, Andrew, take you Amanda to be my wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish, ‘til death to us part.
Amanda, will you please repeat after me: I, Amanda, take you Andrew to be my wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish, ‘til death to us part.
The word of God tells us what love is like and what love does:
“Love is patient, Love is kind, Love is not jealous;
Love does not brag and is not arrogant, it does not act unbecomingly;
It does not seek its own, it is not provoked,
And it does not take into account a wrong suffered.
It does not rejoice in unrighteousness but rejoices with the truth;
For love bears all things, believes in all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.
But above all, Love never fails.”
Having this kind of love in your hearts for one another, you have chosen to exchange rings as the sign and seal of the promises you are making to each other today. Andrew, Do you have a ring for Amanda? Amanda, do you have a ring for Andrew?
Rings are very large in their significance. They are made of a precious metal and precious stone and that reminds us that love is not cheap nor common; but indeed love is very costly and dear to us. These rings are also made in a circle and their design tells us that we must keep love continuous throughout our whole lives, as the circle of the ring is continuous. As you wear these rings, whether you are together or apart for even just a moment, may these rings be a constant reminder of the promises you are making to one another today.
Andrew, will you please take this ring and place it upon the third finger of Amanda’s left hand, and holding her hand in yours, say to her: You are my life, my love, and my best friend. With this ring I thee wed. May you wear it proudly as my wife.
Amanda, will you please take this ring and place it upon the third finger of Andrew’s left hand, and holding his hand in yours, say to him: You are my life, my love, and my best friend. With this ring I thee wed. May you wear it proudly as my husband.
Respect yourselves and each other. Always remember what brought you together and make gentleness, tenderness and kindness an important part of your marriage. When life's fears,
frustrations and hardships attack your marriage – as they threaten all relationships at one time or another – remember to focus on the good things between you and never only on that which seems wrong. By doing this, you can ride out the storms
when clouds hide the face of the sun in your lives – remembering that even if you lose sight of it for a moment, the sun is still there. And if each of you takes responsibility for the quality for your life together, it will be marked by
abundance and delight.
Now you will feel no rain, for each of you will be shelter to the other. Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth to each other. Now you will feel no loneliness, for you will be a companion to the
other. Now you are two bodies, but there is only one life before you.
Please join us in prayer: Our Father, creator and preserver of all mankind, giver of all spiritual grace, the author of everlasting life, send Your blessing upon this man and this
woman, whom we bless in Your name, that they, living faithfully together, may surely perform and keep the vow and covenant between them made, and may ever remain in perfect love and peace together, Amen.
Those whom God hath joined together
let no man put asunder.
By the power vested in me in the state of Texas, I now pronounce you as
husband and wife.
You may kiss your bride!

This was my inspiration pic, but due to budget constraints, I had to figure out a way to make it for less than $1 an invite. I also had to figure out the logistics of how to have it open the other way and still do the inserts.
So this is what I came up with. Grand total, after some serious bargain hunting? 50 cents per invite!
I think I might change the darker blue ribbon to Charcoal so it pops a bit more. Also that lace is just some I picked up from Hobby Lobby... the actual lace I got is very similar to the stuff in the inspiration photo.
And a (very rough) idea of the inside.. I just slapped some stuff in there to figure out how to handle the inserts. Nothing is sized right.
My mom (oh ye of little faith) was really insistant that there was no way I could do it for under $1, so I took great joy in adding it all up for her last night. ;)
given that our reception theme is "texas dancehall", i want to take the time to give some appreciation to our great state!
Texas As Told By Jeff Foxworthy
"Here is what Jeff Foxworthy has to say about folks from Texas ...
If someone in a Lowe's store
offers you assistance and they don't work there, you may live in Texas ;
If you've worn shorts and a parka at the same time, you may live in Texas ;
If you've had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dialed
a wrong number, you may live in Texas ;
If 'Vacation' means going anywhere south of Dallas for the weekend, you may live in Texas ;
If you measure distance in hours, you may live in Texas ;
If you know several
people who have hit a deer more than once, you may live in Texas ;
If you install security lights on your house and garage, but leave both unlocked, you may live in Texas ;
If you carry jumper cables in your car and
your wife knows how to use them, you may live in Texas ;
If the speed limit on the highway is 55 mph -- you're going 80 and everybody's passing you, you may live in Texas ;
If you find 60 degrees 'a little
chilly,' you may live in Texas ;
If you actually understand these jokes, and share them with all your Texas friends, you definitely live in Texas or at one time or another lived in Texas or have or hadTexas friends.

i LOVE these boots!
Ariat Legend in Brown Rowdy. They have blue stitching on the shaft and blue lining on the inside. GORGEOUS leather, and something I'll continue to wear for years. Got a great deal on them (half price!) too.

just gotta include the sexy man in a cowboy hat picture
These are the Bauhaus bags from the $5 Ann's Bridal Bargains sale. I got 4 blue for the bridesmaids, 1 pink for my MOH, and the sorta khaki-ish color for me.
I went to Hobby Lobby and got the 99c rhinestone transfers for the girls' bags. Once I figured out a system (and how to work my new iron), it was easy as pie. All 5 bags took maybe 10 minutes.
For mine I wanted a blue letter but they didn't have any blue iron-ons, so I just bought a pack of rhinestones. I already had glue at home from other projects. Of course I couldn't find a pencil in this whole damn house, so I just set out my supplies and started gluing freehand.
And it ended up like this
