My fiance and I live in Las Vegas and have dated for the past 3 1/2 years and have lived together for the past 2 1/2 years. He is from Hawaii and I have family in Hawaii. I am originally from Oregon, but I attended college in Hawaii for 3 years before moving to Las Vegas.
We met in Las Vegas through a mutual friend. He was working at a night club at the MGM, where my friend also worked. My friend kind of over saw all the night clubs at MGM. My friend was taking me around to the clubs at MGM and asked me if I knew Jovan (because he is from Hawaii). Hawaii is pretty small, so he figured we probably knew each other. From that moment it was pretty much over from there, we did the whole double take thing and have pretty much been inseperatable since!
It was 3 years later when we were on a trip back to Hawaii to attend his 10 year high school reunion. But that weekend he said he wanted to do something different and stay in a hotel out of town (Turtle Bay) so we actually would have a mini vacation. He invited my sister, her husband and their daughter to stay the weekend with us, along with inviting his family to join us. We checked in Saturday night, (the night of his reunion) and he had decided he didn't want to attend his reunion. So we were just at the resort hanging out all weekend. Me being from Oregon, I love Horses and horse back riding. I asked him if we could ride the horses at the stable that Turtle Bay has, so he told me to call and ask what time their rides were. Little did I know he had already booked us on the last ride (the sunset ride) on Sunday. He actually bought out the whole ride (6 people). He didn't want anyone else other than our family and the guides to be with us.
We were on the ride and as we were finishing up next to the stables, he asked the guides if we could take the horses back down on the beach. So he went and I followed. He asked the guide if he could get off here, and they said yes. He then asked me to get off the horse, I didn't want to. I wanted to ride the horse back to the stables! Anyways I got off, he took my hand and we went on a little walk. We stopped just a few yards away on the sand where there was a blanket with flowers scattered on it and chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champaign. He did his speech of how much he loved me and how much I meant to him, then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I said, YES! He put the ring on my finger, he was so nervous that he put it on my RIGHT HAND! His family came running over video taping it and had a dozen red roses for me.
That was one of the best days of my life!

We like to do things a little different. So for my dress, I wanted to be a little sassy and edgier! I chose an Allure dress, everyone thought it was custom fit for me!
Here is the catalog picture of the dress in a different color, (but this color doesn't do it justice). My dress is in the Diamond White and is BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Also my Flowers, I believe my florist had them brought in from California. My Phalaneopsis orchids are out of season in the summertime in Hawaii (it's too hot for them to grow!). They were so big, that they looked as if they were on steroids! I even had some people ask if they were real.
I used an Orchid for my hair instead of the traditional veil. I orginally bought a veil with a rhinestone edge, but my husband didn't want me wearing a veil. It turned out for the best, the flower was much more us and casual!
Our wedding colors were White, Turquoise Blue, and Lime Green. Our bridesmaid dresses are by Mori Lee. The color was absolutely gorgeous and vibrant!
I got the girls shoes at Baker's shoes, they no longer have them but they were white satin with rhinestones.
The Guys wore semi formal/causal. They wore khaki colored pants by Banana Republic and a white linen shirt by H&M.
The Pants
The mens Shoes, are from Creative Recreation.
For the Bridesmaids I had White Calla Lilys. I love roses, but just not for my wedding.
Another shot of the bouquets (can't figure out how to rotate the picture on here.)
Okay, so here are some non professional pictures of our wedding, since we haven't got them back from our photographer! I'll post those later.
This picture of the start of my walk with my dad.

This is a picture of me and one of my bridesmaids (my new sister-in-law). She had to change out of her bridesmaid dress so she could dance the Hula for us!
This is a picture of me and my HUSBAND (still getting use to calling him that!) and his sister.
Here is a picture of our cake, I'll try to find a bigger picture. Our cake was a
6 tier cake of three different flavors: Tiramisu, Banana Foster and Passion Fruit. Our cake was courtesy of "Tiers Of Joy". It was unbelievable! Leigh of Tiers of Joy did an awesome job! Our whole entire cake got eaten!!!
She uses fresh fruit instead of the typical pureed fruits. For the Banana Foster, she used fresh slices of bananas and the Tiramisu was nice and light and the Passion Fruit cleaned your palate.
Our waiters served the head table with the passion fruit, after we ate that we wanted some of the Banana flavor since that was our favorite. The waiters told us there wasn't anymore banana left. Oh, we were so disappointed. Well after the wedding, I called Leigh from Tiers of Joy and let her know what a big hit the cake was and that we didn't get any of the banana, she baked a small banana cake just for us!!! We love her!
