How we met: My best friend started dating her now husband in July of 2007. Every year her husband throws a HUGE Oktoberfest Camp out ( im talking 50+ tents, 8 kegs etc etc). In October 2007 I was invited by my friend to join in on the festivites and Jake was invited by her fiances friend to go. I got to the campsite very late and night and Jake was my knight in shining armour when I couldnt for the life of me get my tent up! LOL Weve been inseperable ever since!
He says im crazy but I knew there was something special about him from the moment I saw him ( i was watching him all night!) One of the first things I ever heard him say was "thats crazy! Family is the most important thing! I cant wait to have a wife and children!" ( he was talking to a friend of mine who was adament that she would NEVER have children) and I thought "wow! Ive never heard a guy my age talk about how much he wants a family. I gotta meet this guy":) Oh and his laugh lines made me melt. He was so cute when he smiled!!! ::sigh::
The Proposal: Jake had always told me that he would propose after graduation...well he is a man of his word! I graduated on June 16th and he proposed June 18th! We were about to leave for my graduation party ( after a long emotional few days of his great grandmother passing away) I was sitting on the couch. Jake asked me If I was ready for my graduation gift. Me (thinking we didnt have money for him to spend his money on nonsense like a grad gift) rolled my eyes and said "you did not get me a grad gift" At his point he reached down and pulled me off the couch and started hugging me and kissing my cheek and neck so sweetly...and i was thinking..why is he so nervous? haha! He said youre right.. i didnt get you a graduation gift..but I do have to ask you a question...he got down on one knee and said "will you marry me?" Im sure my eyes were huge! I actually pulled my hand back and said "what? are you serious? OMG? OMG? for real?" at this point Jake said "babe the ring is already on your hand...yes this is for real!" and then i Said "YES"!...lots of hugging and kissing afterward of course! We are both beyond excited and happy! I feel like I am so blessed to have found such and amazing man! I cant wait to make all the memoreis in the world with him and to call him my HUSBAND!!!

Whatcha think?
Let me start by saying Im a bride on a budget (who isnt these days right?) I was so afraid I wasnt going to find a dress I LOVED! I say this because on my online dress search the dresses I awww-ed over ended up being WAAAAY over budget once I looked at price! But I DID! I went to 3 places. Davids Bridal- no go, then a small bridal boutique where I tried on the casablanca 1827 and I really liked it but..i just wasnt loving it! and then the third place was a bigger boutique. I went there specifically to try on 4 Watters dresses I had been eyeing...well..i didnt try on ANY of them! LOL and when I tried on the Casablanca..with the added sash the consultant suggested I LOVED it! It just pushed it from a LIKE to a LOVE! I am so glad to have this part done! I can now move on to the next thing and I Feel like I am gonna look FAB on my big day! FI is gonna DIE! :)
<--- me and the beautiful momma!:)
Jewelry:
I wanted something kind of vintage-y and sparkly! i
think these are perfect and they have baguettes like my E-ring:D SOURCE
Sash: I ordered this belt today..I cant wait to get it!:)
Veil: Im not a big veil girl...I originally wanted a birdcage. But once I found my dress I felt that a birdcage didnt really go.. so I chose an Ivory single tier fingertip veil!
Shoes:still working on find my shoes! I found a pair I love and by the time I made up my mind and was ready to order..they were GONE:( BOO! I found the shoes!!!
DSW
here are my BEAUTIFUL ladies! So excited for them to share this special day with me!
These are my two lovely sisters Erin and Dena- they will be my Maids of Honor:)

great friends since high school!

but i feel like weve been friends forever! Here she is picture prego with little Victoria who was born on 9/25/11! :)
This is Holly. Ive known Holly since my sophmore
math class ( we got in TONS of trouble for talking ALL the time!) Shes the girl who I can be seperated from for MONTHS and once we are back together its like we never were apart!:)
I was BOUND and DETERMINED to find a BM dress that was cute, comfy and could be worn again! Having a traditional satin BM dress just wasn't me! I wanted Blue (i was stuck between navy or slate blue), flowy material, and belted...well after loooking at
123,581,578,684,258 dresses
I found it at Nordstroms! I took 2 girls to try it on ( i wanted to avoid the BM drams over choosing dresses, and HEY! I'm the bride, what I say goes right?;) so far 3 of my girls have ordered it..just waiting on the other 4:)
Here it is on the model:)
and here it is on two of my girls (in a size or two too big..its
all they had in store!) and the best part is my girls all LOVE them! they kept saying how perfect it was and how they can TOTALLY WEAR IT AGAIN! SCORE!:)
Shoes: weve decided to whole heartedly embrace the rustic feel and so we are wearing COWBOY BOOTS!
after seeing the dress and boots in person ....i was just "eeghh" about it...it just didnt feel right to me..so back to the drawing board I went! I still wanted something a bit more casual than pumps so I decided on a suede woven wedge! I think it will look fabulous!
(by fergalicious ultimate on 6pm.com)

"Union"
by Robert Fulghum
"You have known each other from the first glance of acquaintance to this point of commitment. At some point, you decided to marry. From that moment of yes to this
moment of yes, indeed, you have been making promises and agreements in an informal way. All those conversations that were held riding in a car or over a meal or during long walks - all those sentences that began with “When we’re
married” and continued with “I will and you will and we will”- those late night talks that included “someday” and “somehow” and “maybe”- and all those promises that are unspoken matters of the heart. All
these common things, and more, are the real process of a wedding. The symbolic vows that you are about to make are a way of saying to one another, “ You know all those things we’ve promised and hoped and dreamed- well, I meant it all,
every word.” Look at one another and remember this moment in time. Before this moment you have been many things to one another- acquaintance, friend, companion, lover, dancing partner, and even teacher, for you have learned much from one another
in these last few years. Now you shall say a few words that take you across a threshold of life, and things will never quite be the same between you. For after these vows, you shall say to the world, this- is my husband, this- is my wife

Colossians 3:12-14
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity

Old: Possibly a hand kerchief from my grandmother
New: My dress
Borrowed: Cake serving set from one of my BMs
Blue: Bouquet Cameo

AND instead of a six pence in my shoe I will be placing a daisy..or a dried daisy sticker. Here is the back story of that:
When I was in high school I tried out for the freshman basketball cheerleading squad..and didnt make it..i was so heart broken. When JV tryouts came around I tried out again..my mom brought me a bouquet of daisies before I went to try out and we put a few daisies in my shoe for good luck. When try outs were over i took my shoes off and the daisies were GONE! ( they probably just got ground up from moving alot) but we took it as a good sign! Well I made the squad! my mom did this for me each tryout after and for both of my sisters! Everytime she did we made it:) so this will be my good luck charm on my big day:)
Here is our cake inspiration!
only ours will be a three tier!
This is our cake "plate" idea that I am DIYing

and our cake table is an old industrial spool!

Im a bride on a budget so ive decided to DIY SEVERAL things for our wedding! Here are a few of them!
