and began dating at the end of my senior year so I guess you can consider us high school sweethearts
Scott asked me to the school formal and the rest was history, from then on we were joint at the hip.
Our Engagement
I wish I had a romantic engagement story to tell you, but me and Scott are really
simple people. We bought my ring together and he proposed after it was sized, we never could keep secrets from each other
, but that's ok though, that's why we were meant to be
.
Reception
Our reception is going to be held in our hometown after we have both graduated from our undergrads. The wedding is going to take place on May 29, 2011 at a
beautiful historic building by the river in our hometown.

Our Wedding Colors are purple, black, and silver

Here is a board I made with all of the flowers and in the center is the cake we have chosen for the wedding. We met with a baker last weekend and we decided to go with this design.

Here is a picture of the chairs that we rented from our florist
The calla lilies above is kinda like the flowers that we are getting from our florist except I am adding lack feathers to the bunch. I am realy inspired by the 1920s wedding style I want to incorporation feathers into the decor.
I made up some mock invitations a couple of months ago, I got the paper from hobby lobby and the petal cards from papersource.com and here are some pictures of the thank you cards I bought from Marshalls and TJMaxx.

I also want name our tables after FI's and my favorite films, I got some inspiration from the knot that's where the pictures are from

That's all for now, will post again soon :)
Here is the ring we got a great deal at Zales
Here is FI's ring that I will be ordering soon
We have found it! There is an old movie theater in town and the owner let FI and myself rent it for 2 hours, he is going to let us put our names in the marquee and everything I am so excited it's going to be great!

I have know idea what I am going to wear, yet, but I am on the hunt for the perfect outfit. I want to incorporate our wedding colors some how so we shall see what happens.

I first saw these at a bridal show and ever since I really want to do them. We are only have 3 or 4 kids so I
thought this would be something fun for them to do. The pic is from jasminealaine bio page.
Put these together quickly yesterday on my lunch break, I think they turned out ok
I have seen this on so many bios I can't even count and I love it! We are going to order this for the wedding, I can't wait to use it at all those future dinner parties!
One of these dresses is perfect for my bridesmaids and I am going to have them vote, lets see which one they like the best :)
*Edit, the girls chose the first dress and picked out these shoes for them.

Alfred Angelo 7063 *the winner :)
Here's link to the shoes I am going to have my ladies get :)

I knew for my shoes that I wanted purple to go with my wedding colors and I also wanted a vintage feel to them, so here is what I am thinking right now. I love the Gabriella Rocha line, it's very vintage and I wanted a low heel so I think these are perfect.

I am liking this clutch from etsy seller silvermint, I think this might be the one.

I talked with FI last night and we are seriously thinking about doing a popcorn buffet. There is this place in town that has popcorn machine rentals and I was really thinking about do that as a center and then surrounding them with popcorn jars like in NIKA00's reception.

On a different note, these are some boleros that I love I think I want the one with the broach, but in white or black for the wedding.

Here are the gifts I am getting for my bridesmaids.

I made them this tee with iron transfers on baby blue tanks I got from Old Navy for a $1.00
I also got these flip flops for them at the Old Navy $1 flip flop sale to
wear after the reception
And to stay "green" I got them a Old Navy reusable shopping
bag.
I also found these beach bags at fashion bug for $3 and me being the DIY bride as myself I figured I found the perfect bag to put all of their gifts in. I glued their first letter initial to each one

I had the letters LOVE left over from our engagement session so I am going to spray paint them silver and put them on the cake table.
Here is the design we are taking to the baker in a couple of weeks I love the purple, we are going to get the flowers from Hobby Lobby

We decide to use these flowers for the cake :)
I have seen this idea on so many cake tables that I just had to have it to. I bought the jars from the dollar tree and the glass from hobby lobby. They sell the lights at Joann Fabrics, I am going to do it in purple.

Hey everyone I finally got around to ordering our stamps. Here is a pic I will post the real thing when I get it :)

Here are our save the dates. We made two different kinds with the template from Wedding Chicks and made them our own:)
Here she is:
I just got the cage in today from save-on-crafts.com.
...and here is my inspiration via

I ordered some photobooks from shutterfly a couple of weeks ago and I must be a very lucky bride because I got 3 free photobook coupons from david's bridal, shutterfly, and borders.com within the same week for photo books and all I had to do was pay shipping which ended up being about $30, but... shutterfly was having a buy anything over $30 and get shipping free so I thought, hmm...pay $30 for shipping on 3 free photobooks or...buy $30 worth of merchandise and get the the free shipping and the 3 free photobooks so I ended getting a bunch of prints for virtuallly free because it was the same cost of what the shipping would have been. If I can offer any advice to my fellow brides out there, look for these deals and if you sign up for the shutterfly mailing list and register for borders.com and start a favorite dress account on David's bridal.com they send you tons of coupon codes including free photobooks. Enough of my gabbing here are the books :)

I had three free photobooks so I order the two above for the parents and one for FI and myself here it is:

I finally finished the centerpieces I want and here it is:

And for the head table...

I am making movie posters to put around the reception area for guests to see for our movie themed wedding :) We finished one and it is going to go on the guest book table. Here it is:

Here is our inspiration:

I am also going to do 3 more of these two with our bridal party and one with our theme of "A Love Story" which is what our e-pic shoot was featured around so I will post those as they come in :)
Tehehe, I am so excited I just stumbled across this idea on Etsy and I definately want to utilize it for my movie themes/ old Hollywood Style wedding :)

This is where the Ceremony will be, just booked two weeks ago :)
It seats 160, so the house will be packed, we intend on having 150 guests with 14 of them being in the bridal party.

I am thinking for my consultation that I am going to concentrate on 3 different looks and see which one I like best. First I will go with one of my wedding colors and try apurple look with natural lips.

For the second look I am going to try a more old hollywood look to go with the old hollywood/ roaring 20s fusion theme of the wedding.

For the third look I will try a more natural traditional wedding look.

For the interior of the theater we are going to use 8 purple pomanders that I made to hang on the theater seats throughout the hall. Here is a picture of the theater again for reference.

We are going to sprinkler flower petals that I dyed purple from the dollar store in the aisles and on the stage. I want to create a layer of petals for the aisles and just kind of surround the runner that FI and I made with the petals.
This is my inspiration photo:

and here are the petals drying

I am also going to have 6 columns three on each side in different sizes on stage surrounding the alter

On top of the columns were are going to have silver candlelabras that we are renting along with silver candles I bought from Hobby Lobby.

Here is a picture of our sand ceremony
I got it from David's bridal were are going to use purple, black, and silver sand.
Since the wedding is movie themed we are doing a "concession stand" instead of the traditional candy buffet. what this means is that we are using traditional movie candies and we are having a popcorn cart (I posted pics earlier in the bio) with two or three different popocorn toppings.
So far I have bought five jars from TJMaxx for our buffet. I plan on buying about 2 more. The jars were only $10 each :) I also bought some purple silk from hobby lobby to decorate the table with and two ciramic letters (our initials) to place on the table here is an early version of the set up:

and here are the letters:
and ![]()
I plan on making a sign that says concession stand and some instructions for the guests. I will post a completed mock up when it's finished :o)
I bought my scoops and bags on ebay from seller locogboy. I got 5 scoops 2 tongs and 200 bags for $38 dollars with shipping! http://shop.ebay.com/locogboy/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686

FI will be wearing a black tux and silver tie

The groomsmen will be wearing a black suit and purple ties and vests

The guys will be wearing these as well :)

and of course the socks, here's my inspiration pic:

We got a bunch of purple socks at express for the boys and grey one's for FI :)

And the groomsmen will be doubling as ushers so I thought since we are doing a movie theme wedding why not have them dress the part as movie ushers while they are seating guests :)
...so in come the white gloves

and the black flashlight...

So I have been tossing around what ideas for what I am going to wear for months and well since the wedding is in five months I guess I should start trying to make some decisions, lol.
I want to wear some kind of a shawl or bolero so I am going to pick from these ideas.

Don't you just love Daisy from The Great Gatsby? She sports a scarf and a brooch so simple, but elegant. I think this idea would be nice for the big day.

It will be one of these three ideas I am just conflicted :/
The Jewelry

or these

I have toyed with the idea of wearing gloves and I decided if I do then these will be it

Sorry to be couple MIA for the last couple of months. With the wedding planning whinding down I have been concentrating on so many things at once, but I had to come back to post that we got our marriage license today! The process was very easy which is always a plus :)

Also got my makeup trial finalized as well here is the final product:

So as an attempt to get this bio update I am going to be posting projects I have completed every once and a while. Here is the brooch bouqet I have made for the wedding. I was originally going to buy one of these bad boys from etsy.com, but they run for around $500! So I did it myself :)

It's a little heavy, but it will make for some awesome pics!
We had a awesome time in Disneyworld on our honeymoon, I just wanted to share it!
