OUR WEDDING

We are getting married on May 18, 2008 at the Four Points Sheraton in Pleasanton, CA. We will be having a garden ceremony and will have our reception at the ballroom in the hotel. We look forward to celebrating our special day with everyone!

We have been together for over 6 years now and will finally join together in marriage in May 2008. We are very excited to embark on a new journey in our relationship. THE BEGINNING...

We met at the Old Spaghetti Factory restaurant in Concord, CA. We worked together as servers and had several shifts together which enabled us to get to know one another more. We became friends immediately. At the time, Sean was still in a relationship. About six months later, his relationship ended and a few weeks later, we went on our first date. We hit it off very well and officially became a couple after a few months.

A MEMORABLE NIGHT IN LAS VEGAS

Happily Engaged 2-22-07

Sean proposed to me during our vacation trip to Las Vegas. We went to dinner at the Les Artistes Steakhouse in the Paris hotel. We had such a romantic dinner and after we were done, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so happy all I could do was cry but still was able to blurt out a "yes." It was truly a memorable evening!

A CHERRY BLOSSOM THEME

I think cherry blossoms are so pretty so I wanted to incorporate it in our wedding. Because cherry blossoms are not in bloom in May, I will look for some alternative flowers or fake cherry blossoms to add to our decor, flowers, etc. We can definitely add cherry blossom touches to our invitations, programs, etc. I am excited to see it all come together! Our colors will be dark pink and silver to match the cherry blossom color. I think it will look just lovely!

ALL ABOUT THE DRESS!

No, I am not going to show a picture of my dress at this time but I will let you know it is a dress from designer, Maggie Sottero and the color is diamond white. When my fiance' and I got engaged, I started looking online for dress style ideas. When I came across the Maggie Sottero website, I was hooked! I loved the corset style bodice and there were many dresses to choose from. I actually chose a different dress and when I went to a bridal salon to try it on, it ended up being too heavy and poofy. The bridal rep helping me decided to show me a dress with a similar bodice style but different skirt. I tried it on and my girlfriends and I knew it was "the one." I tried on other dresses after that but nothing compared to that dress. I immediately went online to look for the dress. After some researching and reading reviews of some online stores, I ordered my dress from ValCollections.com. I saved about $300 by doing so. I ordered my dress in May 2007 and received my dress in September (4 months later). It was absolutely beautiful! The only thing I regret is ordering it a size bigger than what I should have. I am a size 5/6 street size and I should have ordered a size 8 for the wedding dress. I wanted to play it safe in case I gained weight so I ordered a size 10 instead. Luckily, with the corset back, I could adjust the bodice. The dress actually fits just fine although size 8 would have been perfect.

Alterations:

I am 5'4 and so decided to order a petite size of the dress but it ended up to still be too long even with 3 1/4" heels (imagine that). After searching online (my favorite) for some wedding dress alteration places around the area, I ended up going to Monika's Alterations in Pleasanton, CA. I must say she did an absolutely fine job with altering the hem and also put in an American bustle. My dress looked even more beautiful after the alterations. The bustle and length were perfect! The dress fit me well. I just have to get it steamed now before the wedding. I can't wait to wear it on my wedding day!

BRIDESMAID STUFF

My BMs and I decided on dress styles from Dessy and After Six. I will be ordering these dresses from an online store called NetBride.com. I read some good reviews online by other brides so I decided to go with them to supply these dresses. Since Dessy and After Six are from the same company, they had the same colors for dresses. We decided to go with a dark pink color-Cherry. This color (and name) is perfect with our Cherry Blossom theme. The girls are all going to wear silver shoes to go with our color theme. I am excited to see these dresses when they arrive early next year!
