(From a July 2009 wedding)
It all started with a ring...
a dress...
an invitation...
.......... and it turned out to be the most AMAZING day of our lives.
All posts from here down are wedding planning related.. I'm keeping them for memories and inspiration :)
On 9/11 (I know..) after three magnificent years of loving each other, Kevin proposed. I was so shocked that I didn't even have any emotion whatsoever.. but it was fabulous. Then he surprised me and whisked me away to San Francisco for the weekend, because he's the best. His surprises always amaze me!
Our wedding will be May 8, 2009: Ceremony in Santa Ana, CA and Reception in Fullerton, CA.
I can't wait for our life to be perfect and to be his wife, because then I'll truly be the luckiest girl in the world!
picture from his proposal!
Our Ceremony will be held at Waverly Chapel in Santa Ana, starting at 6pm. Waverly is a beautiful old english style stone chapel, with a beautiful semi-gothic interior. Needless to say, it isn't going to take a lot of decorating to make it feel romantic :)

Our reception will be held at Springfield Banquet Center in Fullerton.. 7pm-midnight. We'll be enjoying a mexican buffet, with a beer/wine hosted bar. Our cake is from a local Vietnamese bakery.. mmm.. delicious.
I've decided to have a custom cake topper made, but to surprise Kevin by not showing it to him until that day.. woo hoo!

After Kevin proposed via Scrabble, we've ran with the idea and are having our entire wedding be scrabble themed :) I googled Scrabble wedding and found one other person who's done this, so between seeing their ideas and adding our own creativity, we're well on our way to a Scrabulous wedding!
Our color scheme will be black, champagne, and white/ivory.. but we'll have various scrabble elements throughout. Including table letters vs. numbers, and nameplates made out of tile racks and tiles. lots of work!

It didn't take long.. after trying on only a couple of dresses, I fell in love with Maggie Sottero's Aretha.. and she's a beauty!

The back and the bustle..
I have co-Maids of Honor, plus 2 bridesmaids. They are each so special to me, and so very beautiful in their own ways. My Flowergirl is my 8 year old niece.
We chose a beautiful special occassion dress from David's Bridal and they decided to have matching shoes from Cathy Jean. They are receiving their earrings, as well as a pashima shawl and some hand made notecards as a BM gift.

This is Diesel, and he's been such a huge help in planning the wedding! He's helped with everything from re-organizing what I've already organized, to making sure all the invitations pieces are warm by napping on them. I don't know what I'd do without him.
Here he is helping me put together a binder of all things wedding:
