***I've made some of my Bio private, but love making new friends. Just request to add me to see everything. Love PW!***

Since we live in Southern California, Mike and I love to go the beach and take our dog with us. Because it is so much a part of our life in California, we wanted to have our wedding take place on the beach and have the reception have a beach theme.

Below are some pictures and ideas of inspirations I've found from PW and other sites. If I've used your pictures, please let me know so I can give you credit!

I want this cake topper badly, but not for $85! Wowza. I am going to try to DIY something similar. On the hunt for metal framed or wooden framed starfish

I really like the idea of classic looking bouquets that aren't too busy with various colors and different flowers. I think my bouquet will be white calla lillies while the BM's will carry yellow calla lillies.

Update: I love these bouquets for the Bridesmaids! Purple isn't one of my colors, but I love the blue!

Because we are doing a beach themed wedding, I am going to be using stones, sea glass, seashells, glass vases, candles ( both traditional and floating) and distressed wood ( to look like driftwood).

Joann Fabrics had a sale on some beach decor last week and Zoe(BM) and I were able to snag some stuff and make a mockup of one of the centerpieces. Putting it all together, it still felt like something was missing, so we're still on the hunt to make it perfect.

I've also been collecting shells at the beach on the weekends so that I don't have to purchase them. I found a site where I can purchase starfish and sand dollars at bulk.

Post by Heather080809

My bridesmaid Zoe, myself and my fiance are going to attempt to do this project. It seems like so much fun and I love the end result.

D I Y photo 1

Instead of doing the lanterns, thinking of making them more translucent and making them pomanders full of starfish, sanddollars, shells and flowers. Saw an image of this from an etsy seller and thought it was amazing.

D I Y photo 2 this one was designed by AprilHiler on etsy. Amazing.

Started on my twine balls today. 7/05/10.

photo 4 Found small shells and starfish at Dollar Tree. Need to also get some moss. Can't wait to see these come together.

I want to get the Save the Dates out ASAP. I don't want to spend too much on them as they are somewhat informal. I found a template using MS Office Suite. I figured we could purchase photo paper and make them ourselves and glue them to cardstock adding brads and ribbon for flourishes. Need to purchase colored envelopes as well. I've read from a lot of PW brides who have used Vistaprint to print these. Might go that route also depending on the quality we get when we try it ourselves.

Need to finalize the guest list and get addresses into an excel file.

Save the Dates Invitations photo 1

These were found on ourweddingplus.com. However, I have a friend who is a graphic designer and was thinking I could enlist her help as well as my friend who is an artist and we could diy these. Buy bottles in bulk online or from a craft store. Love this concept.

My MOH angie made this for me for fun:

I think I found the one. I love Alfred Angelo!

Being a plus size bride (currently, hoping to lose some weight), I've been frequenting sites that have plus size wedding gowns. I need something light that isn't going to be too bulky or heavy because our ceremony will take place outside in August on the beach ( usually the hottest time of year!) I wasn't going to go strapless because I don't like my arms, but I'm slowing warming up to the idea (no pun intended).

Below are some dresses I found at Brideway.com. FI didn't like the other two I had posted. he said the bottom looked like curtains. Besides, I want something a little more elaborate. I keep changing my mind. I'm sure I'll know once I go to try dresses on.

Thinking of not getting shoes for the ceremony other than flip flops or jewelry for feet because of the sand.

Dress to Impress photo 6 but with shell design instead of leaf.

Update: With the help of another bride, I found my reception shoes. They are the Juicy Couture Pave Frankie Sandal in ivory.

Change of plans: We're doing a civil ceremony in Vegas. Here are the shoes I just purchased for ceremony:

Just had to do this. Wish they had a larger model and more dress options, but still fun to play around with.

Hair Makeup photo 1 FH loves my hair wavy. If I don't blowdry my hair, it falls in waves and I put in mousse to give volume. Wanted to wear it in this style with a rhinestone starfish or shell barrette. My hair is dark blonde, but wouldn't mind dying it lighter for the wedding.

Found one on Etsy by Ohfaro. So amazing. Adore this.

Makeup:
I don't normally wear a lot of makeup. I like the look of lip gloss, especially nudes and light pinks. Love a bronzed, peachy cheek.

Stuff I want for myself and/or Bridesmaids Gifts:

I'm in love with Philosophy Products and it has meaning to the wedding because my Fiance gave me a bottle of philosophy bubble bath on christmas eve as my last gift before he surprised me with my ring.
Found this on the Knot wedding shop:

Want these totes for my BM's. Also found on Knot wedding shop.

A Mrs. tank. ( might diy this though) I bought one at the Los Angeles Bridal Expo a few months ago but it shrunk. http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/onlineProductDisplay.vs?namespace=productDisplay&origin=onlineProductDisplay.jsp&event=display&prnbr=GM-253087&cgname=OS KEYSLPZZZ&rfnbr=19&atp=a

I went to VS during their semi-annual and got a cute bridal robe for the day of:

I was completely surprised by my ring. Mike picked it out all by himself. He picked the diamond separately and then have them set it in a simple white gold band. I love it because it mirrors the ring my father gave my mother (which I also own now that they are divorced)

Our Rings photo 1
It sparkles like crazy and I can't stop staring at it.

Bought Michael's Ring today. It's very simple. We like things that are classic and not flashy. Found it on Overstock.com for a great price!

Simple, classic, and elegant. I'm going to add some shells and/or starfish. But I like the clean look of these inspirations.

I want to do a candy buffet. I love the idea because it's interactive and it is something that most people will like. Want to get chinese takeout boxes and put a monogrammed sticker on it. Thinking about making a sign that has a cute poem on it and framing it on the candy buffet table.

Flip Flop Basket photo 1 www.vibrantbride.com

Beach weddings aren't complete without flip flops. We'll have this available during the ceremony for those that wore shoes that they don't want to get sandy.

Flip Flop Basket photo 2 found these on etsy by seller, Brodyandma.

Found turquoise and yellow flip flops at walmart for $2 each. Will include size tags that my BM and I will DIY. Both Mens and Ladies sizes. Also can be another favor.

Flip Flop Basket photo 3 this is my inspiration pic. I'll post pics when I get a finished product.

I want this guestbook SO bad! It's all handmade and completely beautiful, not to mention perfect for my wedding! I'm having a hardtime swallowing the price, but it's going to be a keepsake so maybe it's worth it.

I saw this survey on fellow PW bride, Aroma's bio and thought it was adorable and fun to do. So I'm including it in my bio as well.

How old are you both? I am 25 and FI is 31.

Do you have any pets? Yes, we have two furbabies. Nico, our 4 year old Maltipoo and Gatsby, our 6 year old purebred Maltese.

Was the proposal a complete surprise?  Yes.

Will the wedding guests be "balanced?" We're not even sure who we're inviting yet. Our wedding is in California and my family is from Pennsylvania so I'm not able to have as many people as my family has to travel.

What are some traditions you're keeping at your wedding?  Father/Daughter Dance, Mother/Son Dance, bouquet toss, something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

Are you buying his wedding band for him?  Yes.

What is one thing about your FI that drives you nuts? He doesn't clean up after himself when he cooks and he forgets everything!

What are you most looking forward to about being married? Finally making it official, we've been together for a very long time and he was my first love. I adore him and can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him.

Inside or outside? Outside on the beach for ceremony. Inside for Reception.

List anything you dislike. Snobby people, not finding my size in something I want to buy, working weekends.

How many people will be there?  60 or so.

Time of day?  Want to do something earlier in the day.

Theme?  Beachy casual

How many bridesmaids?  4, but subject to change

What kind of cake/what will it look like?

Wedding Survey photo 1

What kind of dress will you have/color/material?

Wedding Survey photo 2 love this look.

What kind of flowers in your bouquet?

Wedding Survey photo 3

Kind of engagement ring?  Wedding Survey photo 4

How will you wear your hair?  torn between a few styles. see bio.

Who will be important to be there?  Everyone that we invited, but of course myself and the groom!

How long will you be engaged before you get married?  almost 8 years.

Live together before or wait till married?  We've lived together for the past 5 years.

Take a long time to plan the wedding or will it be simple? I've been planning for awhile, but haven't gotten very far due to being busy and having my brother's wedding to plan for. I hope I can get moving on it after the holiday.

Will you write your own vows or use something pre-made?  We're writing our own.
