John surprised me with a diamond necklace made from his grandmother's diamonds.
John seeing my Bpics for the first time ;)
Our ring bearer and flower girl were so cute. Ended up they had to be walked down by my SIL but it was darling and all caught on video for me to see afterwards.
Right before I walked down the aisle, I was bouncing up and down and so nervous. My dad had to tell me funny stories about my dog Bella to calm me down. But as soon as I saw John it was like everyone else disapeared and I was standing up there with him. I instantly was at ease. It was such an amazing moment in my life. I spent so much time planning the reception and how much fun it was going to be...I never realized how MAGICAL the ceremony would be. It was my favorite moment of that day.
John seeing me for the first time. I guess the officiant had to hold John back because when he saw me he wanted to go and get me. :)
There were a lot oh happy tears throughout our ceremony. John and I wrote our own vows. It was his idea and I am so glad we did it. It was so much more personal. One of my best friends recited a reading for us from Captain Correli's Mandolin.
During the ceremony the officiant saw I was starting to cry and asked if anyone had tissues. So my mom digs through her purse and all she could find were these tissues with christmas decorations on them. Everyone started to laugh. I was so happy to see that my photographer caught that moment on camera.
I love this picture of myself and my dad. He was so happy and proud of me.
Once we were pronounced husband and wife our recessional was to the song Blessed by Brett Dennen. It is such an upbeat and happy song. It was a great segway into cocktail hour and our reception.
My MOH was my best friend since elementary school Courtney. I am going to be her MOH at her wedding in Mexico in May. I also had my brother's wife and my best friend (that I teach with) be my BMs. They were wonderful! So helpful and so supportive.
Since John and I were both born and raised in California we thought it would be fun to purchase customized VANS for the groomsmen. They were a hit and looked great in pictures.
The groomsmen included three of John's best friends and my brother.
Jack, John's nephew, was an excellent " ring bear" ( as he likes to call it). He had no problem walking down the aisle and smiling for the camera.
I am so lucky to have married into such a wonderful family. I also gained two new SILs that are AMAZING.
Leave it to my mom to make me cry. She looked at me and said "I love you" and I burst into tears. I think this second picture of her blowing away my tears is funny.
This picture of John and his sisters could quite possibly be my favorite picture (or one of my favorite pictures) from the whole day. Three years earlier, John's identical twin brother died unexpectedly. This picture captures how happy they are for him to be marrying the love of his life...yah that is me. :)
Love this picture of my dad and I. I like to joke about how much I look like him. I am like the female version of my father.
Isn't my man...HOT?? :)
We were kind of in a rush to get enough pictures taken before the sun started to set. But my photographer still managed to get some amazing shots of us. My dream was to get some wonderful pictures in the vineyards...and my dream came true.
Let me just say that when I walked into the tent for the first time when we were announced as Mr and Mrs Whiteley I was completey shocked and amazed at the floral centerpieces. My florist, Ana, at Floral Works Designs in San Diego, did such an amazing job of capturing the feeling of a rustic elegance that I was going for. I had no idea what to expect. I had shown her inspiration pictures. She did not copy them exactly, but used them to create something even more amazing and unique. The whole night people kept on commenting on them. Especially the tall centerpieces that almost hit the ceiling of the tent. The pictures don't even do them justice.
We had 6 different wines and a variety of beers for our hosted bar.
The escort cards with the wine corks were a nice touch. I provided my photographer with only one MUST HAVE photo....I told her I wanted a picture with our rings on a bottle of PONTE wine. I had seen others before. But the one she took was PERFECT!
Our wedding party was announced at the reception to I've Got a Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas. And we were announced as MR and MRS to Can't Get Enough of Your Love by Barry White.
Our first dances were so much fun. We danced to I Will by the Beatles. DH's family are huge fans of the Beatles. Dad and I danced to Sweet Pea by Amos Lee. I love the one of John and his mom. They glided on the dance floor like they had
practiced their dance for weeks. In reality they hadn't practiced at all. They danced to Rainbow Connection by the Muppets. A song that John and his brother listened to as young kids. There was not a dry eye in the reception tent. I love how you see me
and my SIL in the background watching them dance.
Isn't my niece precious?
My friends from high school and my friends from teaching.
Our garter toss was to the song of Hot for Teacher...since I am a 5th grade teacher. The bouquet toss was to the Sex in the City theme song.
Our cake was beautiful. Our W cake topper "bling blinged" with the uplightning and was one of the focal points of the reception tent. The ONE bite I had of the cake was super yummy. Lemon cake with bavarian creme, lemon and rasberry.
Don't even remember who gave me the wine goggle glasses. But they made for a fun picture with my girlfriends.
Our big surprise was the use of sparklers at the end of the night. They made for some great pictures!
When I saw all of the bouquets for the first time I almsost started to cry. I told my florist to make the girls bouquets with lots of lime green to stand out against their brown dresses. I think their bouquets were exquisite and so unique. For my bouquet I wanted mostly white flowers with some greenery. My grandmother passed away 3 months before my wedding. One day we were going through her jewelry and I found this beautiful blue brooch. I had my florist attach this to my bouquet for my something blue and borrowed.
The girls' brooches were actually meant to be earrings....I bought them at Forever 21 andhad my florist attach them as brooches. For our favors we gifted two types of wine bottle stoppers with our monogram attached.
Let's just say the flip flop baskets on the dance floor were a HUGE hit! I bought the flip flops at the end of the summer at Michaels for a dollar a piece.
My florist used the lanterns from the cereomony on our sweetheart table and cake table.
Our amazing photographer Lauren Hillary is still working on our pro pics but she sent us this FABULOUS slide show of some of her favorites. We were speechless of what we saw.....to see them go here: http://www.laurenhillary.com/slideshows/slideshow.php?Slideshow=Whiteley

A Couple Engagement Pics by our photographer Lauren Hillary.
We fell in love with Ponte the moment we saw it. I love how the ceremony will take place right next to the vineyards. I can only imagine how pretty it will be in the fall! We both share the love of wine so we think this place is perfect for us.
My Colors are going to be Green Brown Cream and Gold. The bridesmaids are wearing an brown tea length Jcrew dresses . Here is a picture of some flowers I love. I plan on using chocolate brown linens and gold chargers at the place settings. We already bought our favors, wine stoppers.:)
