Wedding Countdown Ticker

Add Me to see the rest of my entries.

August 3, 2012-29 days to go.  So far, the only things I need to do is finish my pompanders.  I need 15 more.  I would be done in about two weeks.  Well at least that is my deadline.  I need to buy my shoes and my earrings for the wedding.  All vendors are paid except for DJ and banquet.  Last and final fitting is next week.  My dress won't be at my house until the Wednesday before the wedding.  Can't wait to have my precious in my home.  I want to look at it every morning before I go do work lol.  I finished our thank you speech.  So really it is just little odds and ends but I am happy with where I am currently at in the process.  I hope everything goes smoothly from here on out.  This is it until I say farewell the day before the wedding.  :)

May 3, 2012-3 months, 4 weeks and 1 day to go.  We are finally registered.  I am practically done with wrapping the candle holders with the votive paper.  I am slowing making all the carnations for the centerpieces.  I figured I could make the flowers and put them together closer to the date (which is the easier part). I booked the bridal suite.  I will be spending the night there before so my BMs and I can get ready there in the morning.  I am moving into a different room for the wedding night.  All I need to do now is visit some florist and settle on one.

April 5, 2012-4 months, 3 weeks and 6 days to go.  I have ordered my vases for the centerpieces for the reception.  This should be here on the 14th.  Also, I am picking up my favors today.  I went with something simple.  Threaded braclets from Mexico and will be blessed.  They will be in a tiny yellow envelope.  Will post a picture of them soon.

January 5, 2012-As of today, I have most of my vendors booked.  Church (Booked), Photography will be done by Jazi Photo (Booked), Videography by Smiling Toad Productions (Booked).  I also started working on a little project to save money on church/reception decor.

March 21, 2011-I called on Saturday to let the facility know to hold the date.  Funny thing is that I gave them the wrong date..>OMG.  So, I called this morning to hold the right date and they did have it available.  Saturday I will go hand in the deposit and sign the contract.  SAVE-THE-DATE 9/1/2012

March 17, 2011-Happy St. Patricks Day.  It's a beautiful day here in Chicago.  So tonight I will be calling back one facility to let them know we want to have our wedding their.  So, lets see what happens.

February 20, 2011-Going to view two banquet facilities (Crystal Sky Banquets, William Tell/Holiday Inn and Martinique).  Not sure if FH is coming but my mommy will join me.  I think she is more excited than I am.

February 22, 2011-Visit the above-mentioned banquets.  They were all really nice.  We loved Crystal Sky the most because of affordable and it was spacious with a great layout.  There is only one room in the building so no other parties will be going on with mine which is great.  They have all of May open another plus.  The coordinator was so nice.  They seem to be very accommodating.  Looking forward to setting up a tasting of their food to make a final decision.  I am going to ask my FI if he is interested in viewing at least two other places.  If he is fine with this place, we are just going to stick with our gut.  Martinique was a great hall and it was setup for an afternoon wedding so we got to see it with all its bells and whistles.  They were booked solid  all next year til September.  The William Tell in LaGrange, IL was a bit out of our budget and this particular day smelled like chlorine.  The pool is somewhat near the banquets room...maybe the smell was getting through the vents.  My mom smelled it right away and was just a bit turned off.

I always said I wanted a black and white wedding.  I found the below pick on Google images.  So, the chair bows will be black and all other linen white with a yellow centerpiece.  I want the center pieces to be short and simple.    White tealight candels with a damask label.  I am making carnation pompanders for the centerpiece (check out DIY section).  My mom is a seamstress so she said she can make be black runners for the tables which I thought would be a great idea since most halls charge extra for using a different table cloth color.

I bought these Vellum Votive Wrap in Damask at Michaels.  They are already all printed and I have also received my candles and candle holders a couple weeks ago.  So, at the moment they are sitting in the spare room.  I won't start putting them together until a little later in the summer.

Above is my inspiration for church.  It is going to look so lovely!!!

It took me awhile to decide on what I wanted to give out.  I decided to give out threaded bracelets from Mexico.  They will be inserted in a mini yellow envelope and placed on each place setting.  I am also getting them blessed by the priest that will be marrying us.  We are having a photobooth and that is like a favor since they get to take their picture home, I wanted to still place something at the tables but not spend too much on them.

Here are the yellow envelopes I got for the bracelets.  I also stamped a sample to show you guys.  I ordered from Paper Presentation.  See link below.

All dresses are from Alfred Angelo.  I let the girls pick out their own style they just had to be Satin and Canary Yellow.  They have all finally purchased their dress and should be in by June.

Since my BMs are wearing yellow and our colors and black and yellow, I decided that the flower girls will wear black.  They are going to look so cute with this one.  I will have 4 flower girls.  We will be ordering from Nancy August.  See link below.

Since most flower girl baskets end up in someone closet or tossed away, I figured I would just make them out of takeout boxes.  I found the below link.  Check it out.  I will post pics when I get started.

Here is the one I created.  I might use the larger take out box for the rest.  I might just give this one to FI's youngest niece since she will be wearing the same dress but can't walk yet so she is an honoray FG.

So, I decided to create/use the below baskets.

I finished these four baskets a couple of weeks ago.  This was a pretty easy DIY.

I bought the paper from Michaels.  I believe each sheet was .89.  I basically just cut two slits evenly on top and bottom and just folded it.  I beleive this is the easiet and fastest way to complete a DIY basket.  Very simple and the paper already has a design.  All you need is the ribbon and glue to keep it together.

Here is one with the flower petals I bought from ebay.  I bought 1000 silk petals for 7.25 and free shipping.

I like the below flowers.  I think these are it for me.  They are lovely.  They are all similiar with one or two different flowers.  I like the first one the best.  And of course something for my honey.

I like the below cake.  At first, I wanted an all chocolate cake but as we all do I changed my mind.  I want a white frosting cake with yellow flowers.  Nothing on top.  I wanted to put something on top but I think the cake looks good just the way it is.

Our Wedding Proof.  I love it!

Posted on 07/13/2012 at 11:15 am | 0 comments

Good Evening Everyone,

David and I would first like to thank you all for joining us tonight.  We appreciate every one of you for being a part of one of the most important days of our lives.  We want to give a special thanks to our parents, brothers and sisters.  Without you we wouldn’t be the people we are today.

A special thanks for all the families that made the trip to be with us today.  It means a lot to us that you would spend majority of your money on gas just to get here today.

David and I have been together for more than 8 years.  This is 8 years without breaking up and not having any major fights.  Today we want to share with you the secret on how to keep your significant other happy.  Don’t get me wrong we have our disagreements but the best thing to do is ignore the situation until it goes away.  Ha ha just kidding the best thing to do is to nag them about it until the give in.

To be honest with all of you, we don’t really know how we did it.  It might be the friendship we have, the trust we have in each or that fact that we are both ridiculously good looking people.

So, here is to love, happiness and a little bump and grind.
