R &G
Ray and I met through a mutual friend. We both thought we were seeing other people so we never got to have a real conversation together. His room mate had a crush on me and I thought he was dating some random girl. One drunk dancing night Ray and I were at the same bar in our town when he grabbed me and told me how he felt about me and how he has been letting his room mate know how much he wants him to set us up! I was in shock because I felt the same way but our mutual friend (the room mate) didn't want to see us together. Well, his plan didn't work because FATE found us that drunken night and we have been inseperable since that day.
How I got the RING: FI and I planned a cabin trip for MDW 2010. This was nothing out of the ordinary because he is Mr. colorado and loved shooting, hiking, and camping. He decided to take a different trail then our usual one which was nice, but I was a bit nervous. I am Miss Jersey and being outdoors alone -- gave me the creeps -- I always feel like there are mountain lions watching us and are waiting to attack us! I kept looking around making sure nothing was following us. Ray also seemed really nervous during the hike. The funny part is that him being nervous made me SUPER NERVOUS. Once we got to the top of the mountain he got on one knee and proposed. there was a beautiful sunset :)

Our DJ made sure everyone stayed standing during the first dance. I've been to most weddings where people were sitting and checking their phones, looking at FB. This was special.
Dinner is served: We had a sit down dinner because I never liked looking at a bride standing on line for her food.

We decided to hold hands against the wall. I was so nervous when I held his hand knowing he was right behind me. His touch was so soft.

The engagment party was close family and friends only. My mom just set up her new back patio for this event and the day couldn't have been more beautiful! I did a lot of DIY projects including my stirrer sticks featured in the picture below. I used address labels and bought plastic stirrer sticks. Everyone loved the little details. My camera died quickly and didn't get to take a lot of photos.
This is the beer label we used for all our bottles. The FI brewed an amber ale.
Our Engagement Photoshoot was taken by the wonder Sarah Lee Welch Photography. Sarah is great, young, fun and loves what she does. She took her time taking our photographs and loved shooting us! Ray is a very outdoorsy guy so we decided to take our photoshoot in Estes Park Colorado. The photos came out beautiful. We are also HUGE football fans (Go Broncos) so we personalized it a bit. Here are a few favorits of mine!
Our newspaper announcement!
Boy, has a lot changed since this was put together, good!
I designed my STD's on Shutterfly. I used my target $20 off code and only paid a $17.80 for 60 5x7 cards!
I do have the cutest flower girl in the world - MJ! At first we wanted her to wear a cute ivory dress with yellow sash and yellow bows but decided against it! I wanted her to match the bridesmaids and we finally found her dress. Her sash will have all my blues :)
Here she is trying on her dress
Here is my little ring bearer's outfit
Cake: Our cake will incorporate different designs in the different layers. Our cake is included with our venue and we got to choose up to two flavors and got to choose the design. I am every excited
Our tasting January 15, 2011
<-- excited!
Favors: Ray is a huge home brewer and I am proud to say he makes some awesome beer. For our favors he will be brewing his favorite beer - apricot - and I will be putting together our labels. This will save us a ton of money considering it only costs us $50 worth of yeast, brew materials to produce over 130 beers. We will then attach a little thank you tag.

Our beer labels! Design by the bride and brewed by the groom.
My B-session was affordable (didn't want to spend over 200) and amazing. I got to keep all the photos on a cd so I could make my future hub a shutterfly book :)
Here are just a few...
So at first I wanted to only include my neice and nephew from both brothers during the wedding ceremony. Then I started thinking about how hard it would be to have both of them walking down the aisle by themselves. If I were MJ (flower girl) I would be in shock as a 3 year old having everyone stare at me. This got me thinking about what would have made ME most comfortable as a little girl. Having both my brothers walk down the aisle with me would make me most comfortable so that is what I decided to do. I decided to include all my nephews and my neice during my wedding ceremony. 5 in total.
MJ (Flower girl) will walk down with her oldest brother Ollie & Loggie (Ring Bearer) will walk down with his older brother Bran and Elli.
The boys will hold this sign. Another DIY project to add on the list :)
The boys will be wearing a tux and loggie will wear his little outfit with suspenders :)
So guestbooks are a tricky thing. At first I wanted our guests to take a photobooth strip photo and write a quick note in a book. Then, I decided I wanted something else... something I could put together myself. I came across this inspiration and fell in love. Thank you Lalubell for putting together the DIY instructions.
I am getting all my pocketfolds and card stocks from Cards & Pockets
Here are the colors I will be using
March 28, 2011: The beginning of the invitations
We started the process of putting together the invitations. The total cost for 70 invites was $130.
This covered everything including the envelopes. We will be "attempting" to print out the information ourselves (wish us luck)
Here is my little engineer measuring everything perfectly. He is in full-charge of cutting the paper because I honestly can not even cut paper on a paper cutter in a straight line :)
Ta-da!!! All finished!
The insert on the left with the blue design is our postcard. It is one sided and we will be using these as our RSVPs. This saves on postage and also saves on weight. Post cards are only to be postaged for .22 cents.
I am so excited to put these ALL together.
Final!
