We went to high school together in Livermore, and met in 2003 when we were in the same ceramics class. Roxanne was pretty quiet and didn't know a whole lot of kids in the class. Dan hung out with all the obnoxious "cool" kids in class. Every time he walked by Roxanne he'd say, "Right Roxanne?" as if she had been listening to his conversations with the cool kids. Roxanne would always reply with some version of "what?" "huh?" or "ok."
We didn't start really getting to know each other until the very end of our senior year in 2004. Apparently, we both shared something in common and had no idea: Jeff Zaballos. We started hanging out from time to time during birthday parties and after class. After graduation, we saw more and more of each other until finally on September 6, 2004 Dan asked Roxanne to officially be his girlfriend.
It was the evening of December 22, 2009. Dan insisted on taking Roxanne to dinner and Christmas in the Park in downtown San Jose. After a wonderful dinner at Il Fornaio at the Saint Claire Hotel, we walked through Christmas in the Park and went ice skating under the palm trees. On our way back to the car, we picked up some hot chocolate. Roxanne was hoping something special might happen that night, but assumed the night was over after the drive back home.
When we got home, Dan said he had a present for Roxanne and handed her a wrapped CD case. It was a homemade DVD that Dan had put together all by himself! We popped it into the DVD player in our room and sat down on the bed to watch. As the menu opened, our song ("The Reason" by Hoobastank") begin to play. The first video was of Dan playing his guitar and singing "1,2,3,4" by The Plain White T's. Roxanne had asked him to learn it, since it meant a lot to both of them, but had never heard him play the whole thing, let alone sing it! It was amazing! Roxanne was in tears halfway through it. Dan pressed play on the second video and left to get a glass of water. The video was of him playing his guitar and singing to "Grow Old With You" by Adam Sandler from The Wedding Singer. (Can you believe we don't even own that movie??!) Roxanne sobbed like a little girl through the whole thing. When Dan was done singing the song, he talked about how much our relationship means to him and how much he loves Roxanne. Then he asked her to go find him, because he had a question to ask. Roxanne fell off the bed in all her excitement, but finally made it to the bedroom door. When she opened it, there he was, down on one knee with the ring. He said "Will you marry me?" and of course she said "Yes!" Roxanne cried as Dan slipped the ring on her finger. Eventually, she looked up to see her camera recording the entire proposal. Couldn't have asked for anything more!
Dan did incredibly well with the ring. It's a vintage style pave setting with 1.5 carats of diamonds on all sides of it. The center stone is a little over one carat and a Radiant cut. It's made with 18K white gold. I could not be happier!
Just bought his ring too!

We've been talking about getting me a wedding band to match my ring. Here's what the jeweler can do:
****UPDATE****
Got my custom wedding band!! I love it SOOO much! It's perfect!
Here are our monograms I made with Print Explosion. Not too bad for someone who has no idea what she's doing!
Since FI proposed with his guitar, we want to have a guitar guest book like this:
We'll be sprinkling custom guitar picks around it and guests can take them home if they want to:
We'll also be having a guitar case as a card box :-)
This is our ceremony inspiration (just no trees... candles and uplights only!):
Favors:
We had our E-Party at Eagle Ridge Golf Club (where I work). Food was amazing! We had so much fun! Wish I had better pics of the details... oh well
We had a mashed potato martini bar. SO yummy!!
Our DIY centerpieces, by me.
We scattered stories about our relationship around the room. The proposal story had the ring box, we had a description of our first vacation with a photo album. Tried to keep the guests entertained.
My friend makes cookie favors, so she made us little engagement rings!
I'm sad that we didn't get any pictures of details at the party. Too much going on. We had a cupcake tree with a bride and groom topper. This pic was taken when we got home... after I dropped the groom on his head! :-(
Overall, it was a great party. So much fun!
I just bought these beauties at endless.com! So in love! I can't wait to have them here so I can wear them when I go pick up my dress :-)
I'm still madly in love with them, but had some issues when we were practicing our dance for the first time. Maybe it's just that we were on carpet in our living room, but my pinky toe on my right foot was literally poking out the side of the lowest strap. EEW. Not cute. On goes the search for new shoes.... Maybe I'll just wear the new ones for the dance.
Oh God... I just bought these... Paris Hilton Bonita. Should I bling out the heel??
We love cake! Here are some of my favorites that I've found. I've been collecting pictures forever, so if one of these is your picture, let me know so I can give credit! :-)
Love the how the topper on this one is on the bottom tier.
I love me some bling!
I like the quilted layers on this one.
Not sure that I'd actually use this cake topper for the wedding... but I love it! Might use it for the rehearsal dinner. I love penguins so this really fits me!
UPDATE:
Our cake is going to be a combo of these two pics (Cinnamon Roll Flavored on the bottom and French vanilla with Strawberry Buttercream for the top two. The groom's cake will be red velvet):
This is the cake "topper" that's going on the bottom of the cake:
I definitely want the ceremony to feel very romantic. Lots of candles and lighting.
This is our venue with the aisle lighting we like:
We will line the aisle with candles and petals.
Definitely want to create the reserved signs for our families... I just have to come up with the motivation to design them!

we asked our good friend to marry us! We've both known him for many years and he's actually the one that introduced us. So this wedding wouldn't be taking place without him!
We took him out to a nice dinner and caught up on each other's lives. At them end we told him that we've been talking about picking our bridal party. Since he's important to each of us, we couldn't agree on which side he should stand on. So we decided that it would make the most sense for him to stand in the middle of us... and marry us.
We weren't sure what his reaction would be, so we were a little nervous. But it was perfect! We brought tears to his eyes! He said he was honored and couldn't imagine saying no. He was really surprised. And now we're all really excited to sit down and write the ceremony together. Yaaaaay!
Here we are with our Mickey and Minnie ears with our officiant: Rev. Jeff! (Sh! Don't tell FI he looks funny in the ears... ha ha ha!)
Here are some random ideas we've had so far:
We play scrabble, so we thought this was cute.
The chef I work with said he'd make us an ice sculpture as our wedding gift! I think we want a martini luge.
Not quite an actual trial... I won a free make over party for me and 5 of my friends. So we went to Bare Escentuals at the mall and then went out to an early dinner afterward. I really like the girl who did my make up! She gave me her card and said she does weddings, so I think I'll be calling her as it gets closer! Yay!
My eyes!! Please ignore the nasty eyebrows. I'm in desperate need of some shaping.
Of course, I had to bust out the ears!
Me with some of my ladies! They don't know yet, but they're 2/3 of my bridesmaids! One lives out of state so she couldn't be there and the other went in to labor and had her son the day before.
Our wedding photog (Stephanie Secrest!!!) went with us to Disneyland for a 7 hour E-Pic session! Here are the teasers:
We couldn't pick just one picture... so we picked six! Printed by Shutterfly!
Since FI proposed with a video, I decided to "propose" to my girls with videos! They LOVED it!
Asking Laura to be my MOH! I've known her for 15 years!

Accessories/BM Gifts:
Dresses-- each girl has a different style, but they'll all be the same Red color.
Trial #1
Tight curls right after I left the salon:
After I ran my fingers through it:
The back after I slept on it all night:
Verdict: I like it, but I feel like there's not enough hair. Next time, we're trying extensions!
Trial #2
I LOVE the extensions! For the day of, we're going to add some darker pieces in with my highlights so the color blends better and we'll add smaller pieces to the sides so there's more layering, not such a drastic length change.
Make Up - After a poll with the PW ladies, we decided that we'll go lighter on the eyes and maybe have a softer line for the liner. We'll add lashes. And I'm not wearing anything on my lips here.
Make Up Trail #2
Love it!!
