I own a GREAT PW group called Wifeys in the kitchen! It's a great place to get/share recipes, help plan menus for events you're hosting, and cheer each other on as we all learn more about cooking. Whether you're an advanced cook or just beginning (like me!) we'd LOVE to have you!

***Disclaimer-unfortuneately I don't have my photos on a disc, but I scanned my prints to show all of my fellow PW'ers. Some are slightly darker/more blurry than the actual prints, but you get the idea ; )***

Then after the cruise we had slight car problems, but DH fixed it and I named him hero of the day.

After the car was fixed, we were off to Disney

Ok, thanks everyone for welcoming me to PW! My fiance, Rafael, and I are going to get married on June 20,2009! We got engaged on December 6, 2008 so our engagement is just over 6 months. We both wanted a summer wedding and a short engagement. In the words of my fav country music artist "If you know who you want to spend the rest of your life with, you want to start the rest of your life as soon as you can".

We met about two years ago while we were out salsa dancing, and he has become my best friend and closest partner in life. We are sooo excited about getting married! Whoo hoo!

Me and my love photo 1 This picture was taken right before we got engaged at the downtown Greenville Christmas parade : )

Me and my love photo 2Look at how handsome he is! CAN'T WAIT to see him in a tux! AHHHHH : ) This picture makes my heart melt

My engagement ring! all I told him was that I liked princess cut, and he picked it out himself. I think it's beautiful : )

His wedding band-four small diamonds in the middle with brushed texture to the sides of the diamond, then polished finish all the way around.

Pomanders

This is my inspiration pic for the pews....

We will decorate the pews like this, except that the ribbon will be navy blue

This is a pic of my first pomander ball, just waiting on the ribbon. My first DIY!

Ceremony ideas photo 1

Unfortunately, the aisle was SUPER narrow, and I couldn't use these for the pews. I wouldn't have made it down the aisle with my Dad or new hubby without knocking into everyone. Comical maybe, but not the look I was going for ; ) Fortunately, my Mom did make good use of them. She hung them on a sign outside the church that said "Jessica & Rafael say I do today"

 Ceremony Music Selections

Seating the parents- Parent's Prayer. Preformed by a family friend, originally by Steven Curtis Chapman

Wedding Party Processional-"Tale as Old as Time"-from Beauty and the Beast (instrumental version)

Bridal Processional-"Bridal Chorus"-guitar solo

Recessional- "I feel good"-James Brown : )

Vows

Rafael/Jessica, I choose you to be my husband/wife for life;

to be my lover, friend, and closest companion.

I promise to share your joys and comfort you in your sorrows,

...to stand by your side when we are in abundance and when we are in need,

...to respect you and encourage you,

...to do my best to make you happy,

...and help you achieve the desires of your heart.

I vow to love you with my whole heart, for the rest of our days.

Unity Ceremony

Today, Jessica and Rafael have chosen to tie three strands of ribbon together into a single cord.

The white strands represents God.

The blue strand represents the groom.

And the pink strand represents the bride.

In tying these three strands together, the couple have demonstrated that their marriage is more than a joining of two lives together. It is a unity with God as well.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 says “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

I really like how it turned out-simple but elegant

I gave my girls the decision on the dresses -each got to pick out a dress from David's in the color "marine" with a sash color "rose petal". The only restrictions other than color was that it has to be floor length doesn't have a lot of detail around the waist area that makes the sash look awkward, lol. My girls made some great choices-I love every dress!

My super awesome MOH! aka twin sister : )

I don't have pictures of the other girls in their dresses yet, (and Davids Bridal website won't let me copy and paste the pics-boo) but here are their choices

Natalie (best friend since 6th grade!)

Amber (best friend in highschool)

Kasi (younger sis)

The girls will be carrying pink hydrangea bouquets. My florist is spraying the hydrangea so that the pink shade will match their sashes : )

And here's how it came out-I loved how each girl got to choose their personal style in the dresses

Flowergirls photo 1

FG basket

Flowergirls photo 2

I made this out of a regular flower girl basket, ribbon, and silk daisies from Hobby Lobby. I got a lot of compliments on it and it was a VERY easy DIY. I just cut off the stems on the daisies, hot glued them onto the basket, then glued a long piece of ribbon on each side of the handle and tied them into bows

Dresses

Flowergirls photo 3   Flowergirls photo 4

I purchased these dresses at the mall, and I'll take off the flower/pink bow and add white sashes.
