Jeremy and I have known each other since high school (where the infatuation began) but we didn't "officially" start dating until the summer after we graduated and before we went off to college. Everything was great until the summer ended and we went off to different schools in different cities. By the time Christmas came around, we were both miserable and thinking that we couldn't keep the long-distance thing up much longer. Jeremy decided the day before we went back for his spring semester that he would transfer to my school. And the rest, as they say, is history...

We always knew that we wanted to be out of college and on our own before we got married. That was a great idea and all, but as most of us girls tend to do, I started getting antsy when we both finally did graduate...and land successful jobs...and move in together. I kept thinking with each trip that we would take that this is it...this is when he is going to ask! And then nothing. This went on for almost two years! Talk about agony! I truly started doubting myself and whether or not he really wanted to ever get married at all.

Well, as it turns out, for all of my nosiness and reading between the lines, I never saw this one coming.

It was a Friday afternoon and I had gotten home from work early. I was out front watering the yard when he pulled up, kissed me hello and took the dry cleaning inside. I kept on watering, when a few minutes later he came out, and said that Spencer (our adopted Basset Hound) had something on his neck. I asked if it was a bite and he said that he couldn't tell. He went back inside and I was rolling up the hose thinking "Great, he's got another tick on him again!" (We kept finding them when we first adopted him...poor baby!) I went out into the back yard and here comes my boy bounding over like he has something to show me. He sits down at my feet and as I lean down to inspect is fur, something incredibly shiny catches my eye. I turn his collar only to find a ring hanging there (not a tick!). Jeremy walked over, got down on one knee, and asked me to stay with him forever! Of course, I said yes!

...the pieces come together.

I ordered our napkins from AmericanBridal.com...100 count for $13. What a deal!

As our engagement present, my FMIL gave us A&M champagne glasses that will serve as our toasting flutes. That way we are more likely to use them again! (We are still looking for an A&M cake server set.)

I just LOVE our Save-the-Dates! We had Jeremy's sister take a bunch of fun pics of us out at my parents ranch and sent them off to be printed on magnets. We got over one hundred to send out for under $130! (Magnets from Totallyweddingmagnets.com)

Thanks to one of my BMs, she helped me come up with the color scheme. We started with the BM gowns, which are charcoal grey and just went from there.
