A good friend and groomsman of Felix introduced him to myspace.com to meet local people once he came back home from
college. All of his friends from high school were long gone and he needed to re-establish a social life that was once pretty active in the city of Boston. So one boring day at work he signed up and started asking a bunch of random people to
be his 'friend'....I know, it sounds pretty sad. Anyways, I was one of the locals that accepted him as friend. We started off with some simple chat, and after a few corny jokes and some cheezy pictures, I asked him out.
I guess we are examples of the new age.....this was no old fashion meeting.
On Thanksgiving weekend in 2007 we planned to take a trip to New York City to see the sites and some of my family. We went to one of our favorite places, The Metropolitan Museum of Art. We entered the new Greek section, passed the chariot and entered into the jewelry section. We were looking at some ancient rings and I said "Aren't these nice!". Felix replied, " Not as nice as this one", where I turned my head and he was on one knee. After the tears and kisses we called our parents and were so excited that we left the musuem and took a walk in central park, where we shared out first meal....franks and a soda.
We will be having both ceremony and reception at Eolia Mansion at Harkness State Park, Waterford, CT.
This is a special place for the both of us. It is where Felix's parents took their wedding and 25th wedding anniversary pictures, as well as his prom pictures. Also, Felix and I completed a 26 mile breast cancer walk in honor of our aunts and breast cancer survivors. The walk ended at the park. This year that breast cancer walk is on the same day as the wedding but will end in a different area of the park. This is not only fitting to us but we consider it fate.
