My name is Kat, I got married March 21st, 2009 in Amelia Island, FL. My wedding was a dusty rose & plum color scheme, with lots of pink cymbidium orchids! My ceremony was at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and my reception was at the Ritz Carlton Amelia Island.

Colors & Inspiration Board

My colors were a dark pink ("dusty rose") and plum, as well as some silver accents. I went for a spring, elegant look, with a bit of a beach theme thrown in, since the wedding was in FL.

Engagement Pics

We took our engagement pictures in Boston (where we currently live) with Lisa Liu of Pigmentia Photography. We took them in Boston Common, the Public Garden, and along the Charles River. Here's just a few favorites:

The Dress & Accessories

My main dress was Allure 8462, a gorgeous ivory halter a-line with lots of beading. Here's some stock pictures as well as pictures from the day of the wedding:

I also purchased a second dress because I wanted to be able to really get down and dance. It's from JS Boutique, and is currently sold at Nordstrom's. It was SO comfy, I loved it!

My jewelry was from Kohl's, the 1928 collection - it was such a bargain, and tons of people even thought it was actual vintage jewelry!

My shoes were Benjamin Adams' Renee - ivory satin flats with bling, and so comfortable.

Bridesmaid Look

The bridesmaids wore Badgley Mishka 950019, in "Dusty Rose." It is a halter, mermaid style dress. It looked so gorgeous on all 7 girls! For shoes, they all wore Caparros silver beaded slides I got at DSW. Their jewelry came from Wedding Factory Direct.

Hair & Makeup

For hair, I knew I wanted a half-up, half-down style, and wanted hair surrounding my face. I loved the style done by Cheryl, my hair stylist in FL for many years. And Sunshine Jones did lovely makeup - I did false eyelashes on the edges, and pink & purple tones on my eyes, and pink gloss for the lips. Gorgeous!

Flowers

I did a bouquet of all pink cymbidium orchids for my bridal bouquet so I would have some color to pop against the ivory of the dress. I loved that there was even purple in the middle of the flowers to go with my plum accents.

The bridesmaid bouquets were copied exactly from this picture on the Knot on the right - they had purple cool water roses, pink calla lilies, white cymbidium orchids, etc.

The groomsmen had pink calla lilies and the groom had a big pink cymbidium orchid:

For the centerpieces, I knew I wanted a tall vase of pink cymbidium orchids, surrounded by small circular containers with single orchids in them, as well as clear beads and votive candles. Here's my inspiration as well as the actual centerpieces:

Actual (ours had the clear stones and single orchids at the base like the inspiration photos, but you can't see it too well in any of these photos):

The Invitations

This was where I got my invite inspiration (Hana Hou Designs, Starfish Envelopment Invite):

And I had my own version done with pink & plum and a hibiscus flower (made by Kiss n' Tell Cards, Etsy). They were mailed in a brown box with wraparound label.
