About Me

I am a work at home mom to an amazing son who fills my life with so much joy. In my professional life, I am a Wedding and Event Planner as well as a blogger. My wonderful fiancee proposed to me while we were out in CA visiting my parents after my mom had been moved to hospice towards the end of her battle with liver cancer. I prayed for my mom to have just a moment or two of clarity and we were blessed with many moments of clarity and while I was in the hall, my fiancee asked if he could marry me and she whispered, "Of course." The following day he asked my father and my son for my hand in marriage and proposed to me near my parent's orange tree as the scent of orange blossoms wafted through the air. My mother passed a week to the day later and I am so grateful she knew that I was going to marry the man of my dreams.

Our wedding is influenced by my love of Jane Austen and our mutual love of the Regency period in conjunction with honoring my mother's love of butterflies. Our wedding date is September 23, 2012 a date that holds very special meaning in my family: it would have been my parent's 49th wedding anniversary. The focus of our wedding is all about family and I am blessed with a wonderful unconventional family that includes my ex-husband and his fiancee. We are all great friends and literally live in the same building right down the hall from one another. We share family dinner together every Sunday evening.

My attendants are my eldest sister, Sandy, who is my Maid of Honor and my bridesmaid is my good friend Tana-Marie (who happens to be my ex-husband's fiancee and yes, I'm planning their wedding).

My fiancee's attendants are his close friend Kedron (they have known each other since high school) and his good friend, Jon (who happens to be my ex-husband).
