My fiance Patrick and I are getting married on November 9, 2007 in Los Angeles! We're also hosting a reception in Seattle (our hometown) in December. At first the thought of planning two big parties was a bit daunting, but now I look at it as a chance to have two decorating themes, two cakes and another time I get to wear my gown! :)

We met in Seattle in 2002 on the set of an independent film. I fell in love with his goofy demeanor and his honesty. We moved to LA in January of 2006 and have made a pretty good life for ourselves here. We can't wait to see how the rest of it will unfold!

Our Engagement Story:

On February 17, 2007, Patrick and I went up to Pismo Beach to celebrate four years together.

We stayed at a beautiful hotel along the bluffs called The Cottage Inn. Our room had an amazing view of the ocean. We had a great day, first visiting the migrating monarch butterflies that were perched in huge eucalyptus trees at a local park.

When the sun was setting, Patrick suggested that we go down to the beach to watch the sunset. He brought along a Trader Joe's bag, which I figured was filled with things to help us celebrate our anniversary. We set up our chairs close to the bluff and enjoyed the view. Being the cheesy couple we are, we wrote M + P = love in the sand. I stood up to take a picture of it and when I turned to sit down I saw a box resting on my chair. I instantly told myself not to expect a ring. It's earrings, a bracelet - it can't be a ring! But when I opened the box I saw a beautiful ring. Patrick asked me to marry him and I accepted while laughing hysterically - no tears for me! I really couldn't believe that he had proposed and with such a beautiful ring. Patrick brought out a bottle of champagne and two flutes (which we will toast with at our wedding) and we drank to our future. After a celebratory dinner we went straight to Barnes and Noble so I could stock up on wedding magazines!
