I decided to save a bit of money and time and DIM (do-it-myself) make-up on my wedding day.  After receiving many suggestions to check out tutorials on Youtube, I found the perfect romantic look in Michelle Phan's Romantic Valentine Look and made my own adjustments.

First, the inspiration:

So, here's the ingredients for the look:

1.  L'Oreal Paris Studio Secrets Magic Perfector Base--After my skin care routine, I apply this all over my face for a smooth surface.

2.  A mix of Estee Lauder's Double Wear Light Stay-in-Place foundation in Intensity 2.0 and Revlon Colorstay Combination/Oily Skin foundation in Buff

UPDATE:  I found a ColorStay foundation that fits my skin perfectly--I'll be using 200 Nude instead.  I apply it by first dabbing a bit on with a sponge and then blending it with a foundation brush.

3.  Revlon ColorStay Aqua Finishing Powder in Translucent Light Medium--I swirl this on with my Mary Kay Mineral Foundation brush, and then lightly run a facial pad over it to take care of excess powder.

4.  Stila Pretty Pink Palette (using the wheat color and dark brown color on the eyes and the cheek color)--I apply the wheat color to my browbone, center of my eyelid, and my cupid's bow on my lips to highlight while I apply the dark brown color to the outer and inner corners of my eyelids, slightly into my crease, and on my lower lashline.  I use the cheek color on my cheeks (of course) to give a slight flush.

5.  Clinique's Color Surge eyeshadow in Strawberry Fudge (I'm using the pink for the eyes)--I apply the pink color into the creases of my eyes.

6.  Sonia Kashuk Eye Definer in Mahogany--I draw a pretty thick line on the lid at the base of my lashes as well as my waterline on the bottom of my eyes.

7.  I tried false lashes but no matter what I did, I couldn't get the hang of it, so I had to get the impact of the falsies with mascara, and this combo works:  Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion Waterproof in Brown-Black and Maybelline Falsies Black Drama.  I first apply the Lash Blast to create a thick, full base of lashes, and then I apply the Black Drama.  You have to take care with the Black Drama because it can clump at times.

8.  Clinique's Quickliner in Soft Rose and Clinique Butter Shine Lipstick in Adore U

UPDATE:  I was never truly pleased with the first combination.  The color is gorgeous, but it seemed like my lips sort of got lost on my face.  So with my fourth trial, I tried Maybelline's Superstay 24 lip color in Infinite Petal and I got what I wanted--a subtle pink that brought out my lips without overshadowing my eye make up.  There's no need to prep your lips or line them because the formula works best on cean, dry lips.

And here are my trials

Trial #1:  Here it is, but the make up was applied too lightly.

Make up Trial #2:  This was eyes-only; I swear, I can't wait to start on BC so maybe I can get clear skin!  This was when I discovered the mascara trick.

Make up Trial #3:  Full-face, and I think it turned out okay.

Trial #4:  This is where I tried out the new lip color and foundation, and it worked perfectly!

Here is my final trial before the big day, and it turned out to be the best yet.
