Flowers & Decor

I am going to have 3 different centerpieces: 

This one will have limes instead of apples, and there will be a pomander on the top rather than hydrangeas. 

I am surprising Derek with 2 floral arrangements for the bar that will look like these:

My florist is actually going to put the beer one in a mug of Derek's that has his initials engraved on it.  It was a college graduation gift from his mom.  He probably won't even notice though : )

Tying the Knot Bouquet:

My florist is going to provide a bunch of flowers in shades of fuchsia, green & white.  During the procession each of our attendants & everyone in our family will carry a single stemmed flower (roses, hydrangeas, peonies, kermit mums, gerber daisies) down the aisle.  Then during the ceremony Derek & I will collect the flowers from each of them while "One" by U2 is performed by our String Quartet.  Each flower symbolizes the role our family & friends have played in shaping the individuals we have become.  Once all the flowers have been collected we will bind them together with ribbon or twine or something symbolizing our commitment to each other & the joining of our pasts & families (incorporating the "tying the knot" tradition).

This will be our unity ceremony in place of a traditional unity candle or sand ceremony.
