FI and I met in June of 2005 at a local restaurant/lounge. We were both involved with other people at the time so we didn't have our first date until a few months later. I pushed him away a lot at first, probably because I had just come out of a long, bad relationship. But he never gave up on me (despite even "breaking up" with him!). He gave me just enough space to let me deal with my "issues" without completely letting go. And in the end, he won me over. We "officially" became a couple in May of 2006.
FI proposed in September of 2006, just four months after we became "a couple". He took me to the restaurant where we had our first date and proposed after we ordered dinner. Needless to say, I didn't eat ONE bite of my food! I was in shock and so emotional that I completely lost my appetite. And of course I said yes :o) After dinner, we went to the place where we had our first kiss to celebrate. He bought both the e-ring and the band since the ring, as you can see, is very detailed and would be difficult to match. It's a good thing I said yes! :o)
UPDATE: We finally have a date! May 8, 2010! After a bumpy road, FI and I decided to buy a house. We couldn't afford both a wedding and a house, and because now is the time to buy, we decided that we would put the money we had towards a home. So the plan was to get married by the court and then save for a wedding later. But the court ceremony slowly evolved into a mini-wedding! So all I have is TWO months to plan this thing! eek!

This is the dress I ultimately got (no jacket) and I'm not sure how i feel about it. I wanted a mermaid as you can see from my inspirations, and was told at the bridal shop that this was a mermaid, but when I looked it up, I realized it was a fitted A-line. So I'm hoping once I get my first fitting, I'll have that "love" moment with it...but right now, I'm not too sure...and I just don't have much time!
