My FI and I have been together for about 6 years. We both met in University - we were in the same program and were placed in the same group to work on a project together. We instantly clicked - became friends and the rest is really history! My life has never been the same since! Since then he has been my best friend and everything I dreamed I would want in my life partner. In April of 2008, FI and I had planned a mini get-away to New York. What I thought was a mini vacation, turned out to be something more that was planned for months.
On April 18th, he had strategically planned for us to visit Central Park. It was an unusually hot spring day and I didn't particularly want to walk around the large park. We walked by the Lake which offered boat rides - he suggested we ride a boat. I immediately jumped at the idea to give my legs a rest, regardless of the fact that they didn't have life vests available. While he rowed us around the Lake, I took in the magnificent signs of spring blooms in Central Park snapping away with my camera. At the very end of our ride, he stopped the boat right in the centre of the Lake, pretended to take a picture of me against the scenery around and then got down on one knee with a box in his hand! My initial thoughts - OMG the boat's gonna tip and I have no life vest!!! However, after I saw the box on his palm - all I could ask was "Is this a joke?" "Are you serious?" Clearly, I hadn't even the slightest clue or expectation that this would happen. He told me that he asked my parents for their permission and he had been planning this for a while and asked me if I would marry him! The answer was YES OF COURSE!
So I debated back and forth over a few dresses. I thought I had my heart set on this one:
and then I came across my dream dress - I absolutely fell in love for the simplicity of the design and the train - it is completely detachable!
I ended up having this dress made - however with minor changes to the original design - including crystals on the lace motives and a border on the front of the dress. I absolutely love her and I cannot wait to wear her!!

I wanted to ask my MOH and BM's to be part of my day in a special way - so I did these quick little cards in Illustrator that identified the colours of my wedding right on the front. Inside the cards I wrote why they were each special to me and why I wanted them to be part of my special day. I also bought them each a copy of "The Everything Bridesmaid Book" as a cute keepsake and gave it to them with the cards. Needless to say - they all said yes!!

I ended up going with the gold version of these shoes as they were nicer than the silver ones in store.
I came across these pre-arranged bouquets at Pier 1 and thought they looked ever so pretty - especially since they had peonies which I really wanted and knew they wouldn't be available in September. They were also in the right shade I was looking for (with the exception of the super dark rose). I also bought this Baby's Breath type filler so that I can re-arrange the bouquet - take out the dark pink rose and open them up a little with a few beads and ribbons.
My Target is to look something like this (came across this online somewhere)- but with the different flowers.
The larger candle would sit in between my FI and I while the smaller candles would sit in between the bridesmaid and groomsmen.
We will be using the following candles for the guest tables:
I have been looking out for these branches for ages!! I thought I would have to settle for other not so great branches that would do the job! However, on a stroll with my fiancé this evening, we walked into this florist and I was estatic to find these branches that will be used for our Wish Tree! I'm sooo excited! I just have to look out for a super cute vase now!
Here is the Wish Tree sign I created - I found the words online from another Wish Tree sign and thought it was kinda cute!

I finally got the letters for our cake made - I was able to order them from a signage company rather than ordering them online (too $$$$) - I'm planning to fix a few hot crystals to make the letters pop a little more. Here's the Before shot:
