I wear my heart on my sleeve.
I can't help it.
I'm like a mix of Bridget Jones & Lorelei Gilmore.
♥ quaint little diners, dessert, & coffee!
We first met in college through his roommate, Bryce. Bryce was my freshman small group leader at Intervarsity Christian Fellowship. Josh and I would see each other occasionally when Bryce brought us, freshman girls, over to his apartment for potlucks, games, and movies. After freshmen year, Josh and I both moved to different apartments. Surprisingly, our apartment units were in the same apartment complex: Sorrento. There, I was literally the girl next door. And he was the boy next door. He'd come over to my all girls apartment to help us with our computers (being a computer science engineer major) and we'd go over for dinner occasionally. Over time, I found out that I needed a lot of help with my computer! We became great friends and began to study and go to the gym together. Because he was nervous, he'd always say "HI!" and "BYE!" loudly and awkwardly. Those awkward greetings left me unsure of how to respond. It was a funny time! I didn't know what we were waiting for at the time, but now I know: a perfect opportunity. It was only right at the time for me to ask him to my sorority formal; and so I did. That formal was what brought us together. A month later, he asked me to be his girlfriend while taking me "shoe shopping."
When we became a couple, everyone we knew was surprised. We were polar opposites of each other! He was the reserved, nerdy guy who loved to program until past midnight, read the Economist for fun, and embraced his Chinese heritage. I was the bubbly, outgoing girl who loved to go clubbing, loved different mediums of art, and enjoyed genuine heart-to-heart talks. Like what Bryce said during his Best Man speech, we bring out the best in each other and compliment perfectly. After knowing each other for about 5 years, we're finally married!!
We were engaged in April, 2009 and had our engagement shoot in August, 2009.
During our engagement shoot, we went to Balboa Island and were able to get the sunny sky and the sunset as our backdrop!

So I've been doing some unpacking and decorating the apartment...
During wedding planning, I was obsessed with chandeliers. I had 1 big chandelier and 4 small ones installed above the dance floor of my reception place. They were breathtakingly gorgeous! The pictures didn't do them justice. Now that I'm decorating my apartment - I'm going to put a chandelier decal in our bedroom, except I haven't found the perfect one yet. I want one that isn't overly girly, yet not too simplistic. (I do plan to get the real thing when we have a house. lol!)
I like this one below because it has a nice elegant silhouette and it'd be perfect above the headboard.
(These images are taken from www.etsy.com.)
I also like the modern shape of this one.
This one is kind of like the first one but a bit more extravagant.
And this last one has a slightly different shape.
I'm enjoying this process, really! But when it comes down to decision time, which one should I get? I'm leaning towards the first one.
-edit-
Ooh I just found a better set of chandeliers!
Here's my wedding day bio, as requested by some girls. ;)
We got married at Strawberry Farms Golf Clubs in Irvine, CA. It was special to me because I used to pass by there everyday driving to my high school.
(Lighting is inconsistent here because these photos were taken by different
people: friends & our photographer, Steve Hoffmann, and me.)
