My fiance and I were recently engaged Memorial weekend 2010. We're extremely thrilled to be getting married on 6.11.11! Everything is falling into place so well. I couldn't be happier!!
Matt spent so much time planning our engagement weekend. He must have watched the Bachelor with me to assist him on the romance. Let me tell you - he pulled out all of the stops!! Here is how it unfolded. He told me our friends invited us to their cottage for Memorial weekend. So I started packing for a trip to Lake Michigan. Then at about 8pm he said, oh and make sure to pack your passport. That was quite the shock! The next morning we were set to go somewhere. I still had no idea where at this point. Meanwhile Matt had been sick and practically bedridden. This put a hold on everything. While sick, he made a ton of calls to change all of the plans he made to Saturday instead of Friday. I felt so bad for him. Saturday morning we took off for Canada! We arrived in Niagara on the Lake to a quaint, little bed and breakfast. Once we arrived I asked what I should wear for whatever he had planned next. Matt then surprised me with a dress and shoes he previously bought! How sweet right?! Once we were ready he told me our ride was waiting. I walked outside to find a horse and carriage! Then we had a lovely ride through the historic town of Niagara on the Lake to Peller Estates Vineyard. Matt secretly scheduled a private tour at the winery for us. Through the tour I started wondering what was next! At the end of the tour we ended up under a pretty tree near a vineyard. Under the tree there was a wine barrel used as a table that had a flower and sparkling wine on top. I was pretty impressed by the place at this point and assumed this was all part of the tour. That was not the case! This is where Matt bent down on one knee and with the face of an angel he said, "baby, I love you more everyday and want to be with you forever. Will you marry me?" Even though I knew someday this would happen I was still in shock. I started balling and of course said, yes! There was a tour group in the vineyard behind us and they all started cheering for us!
