Since I don't really want random (and not-so-random) people stalking me, I have kept some of my entries viewable by friends only. Please friend me if you would like to see the rest!
On our anniversary, Manu took me to his favorite garden in Paris -- Jardin du Palais Royal. It was a lazy Sunday afternoon and the park was fairly empty. We decided to sit down on one of the benches to soak in the scene.
After talking for awhile, he surprised me with the ring. He got down on one knee and asked if we could spend the rest of our lives together. And I said, "of course!".
Mission Dolores Basilica | San Francisco, Calif.
We like Mission Dolores for its diverse community and open-mindedness (for a Catholic church). FI is agnostic & I'm Roman Catholic. The pastor here is pretty cool and the neighborhood is very eclectic (Castro & Mission Districts). But most importantly, they have a parking lot so parking won't be such a hassle.
Mission Dolores has always had a central place in the religious, civic, and cultural life of San Francisco. Misión San Francisco de Asís was founded June 29, 1776, under the direction of Father Junipero Serra and is both the oldest original intact Mission in California and the oldest building in San Francisco.
The Green Room in the San Francisco War Memorial & Performing Arts Center
The United Nations Charter was signed in this building on October 26, 1945. It's goals were to maintain international peace and security, promote equal rights, respect for human rights and all that good stuff. We think its pretty cool to
have our reception at the birthplace of the UN. And I really like its beaux-arts look.
You can see my old high school in the background of this picture.
Also, one of the main reasons we selected this venue is because San Francisco City Hall is across the street, which holds a very special significance to us. You can view City Hall from The Green Room balcony, where cocktail hour will be
held.
Here's a photo Manu took of City Hall from the balcony:

Bridesmaids
The dress on the left will be worn by my 4 bridesmaids and the dress on the right will be worn by my MOH (my younger sis). They are from Alfred Angelo's 2010 Collection in Eggplant:

The Men
Since we're having our wedding in downtown San Francisco, we're going for a modern sophisticated look.

Bridal Bouquet

Eggplant callalilies with cymbidium orchids.
Groom's Bout

Eggplant calalily with Monkeytail
Reception Centerpieces

Mixture of tall curly willow branches with and phalaenopsis orchids & trio of submerged purple florals (cymbidium orchids, phalaenopsis orchids and eggplant callalilies).
Escort Table

Tall dramatic arrangement of phalaenopsis orchids with large river rocks.
FI's from Lübeck, Germany, which is known for their marzipan. In an effort to incorporate as many aspects of our two cultures in the wedding, I thought it would be really cool if we purchased the following marzipan hearts from Niederegger (which is based in Lübeck) as our wedding favors, with a tag that says "danke":
Crystal Manzanita Tree
I purchased this beautiful crystal manzanita tree from a fellow NorCal bride, Lilleybug.
