Travis and I actually met for the first time in high school back in the early 90's. We weren't friends, just acquaintances. We both went our seperate ways to college and then I headed to St. Louis, MO and he to the military which led him to Germany. In 2007, Travis moved back to MO to be closer to his family and set up residence not too far away in St. Charles, MO. One day he decided to do a search on MySpace to see if any of his high school friends were members and lo and behold I was the first to come up. I'm not sure what made him email me, but he did and we started emailing back and forth until the night before Christmas Eve when we were both back in our home town and decided to meet up. We've been together ever since. I love him and his family so completely and feel so blessed that after searching for my love for so long that I finally found him... and to think I knew him all along.
I knew I wanted something with a vintage feel to it, but didn't want to seem pushy about it. So when Travis asked me what I meant by "a vintage feel" I jumped at the chance and emailed him the link to the ring I had my heart set on. When he finally proposed it was great to see it up close and on my finger.
The Wedding bands came in today. I can't wait to wear them everyday. (When did I acquire old lady hands??)
Travis' wedding ring:
MOH: Heather Spindler (my best friend since 10th grade)
Bridesmiad: Brittany Wideman (my incredible niece)
Best Man: Trevor Sumner (Travis' brother... they both think they are pretty tough.)
Groomsman: Corey Martin (a longtime friend of Travis')
Users: Mitchell Wideman (my very handsome nephew) & Aaron Pondrom (another friend of Travis'...not pictured)
I found these pictures on the Sister's Florist blog and just love them. My colors are chocolate and berry (or whatever dark red color you want to call it).
My flowers: Bridesmaid's flowers:
None of my contenders made the final cut. In the end I let them get what they wanted. The dress will actually be espresso.

I've gotten so many compliments on my invitations. I'm so glad I didn't spend a fortune on them. I got them at Michael's with 40% off coupons.
