Whoever reads this is going to think I am absolutely crazy! I have never had a huge dream wedding because in all reality I knew that I never would be able to afford it. My fiancee has over 50 aunts/uncles/cousins on ONE side of his family that he must invite. And we cannot invite 1 without inviting them all. My entire guest list was at 30 and that's because I added people from all over the nation! Needless to say we are having a large wedding, but here is the kicker...we have a budget of 5,000 dollars!!! I am extremely stressed out and need some mad help...but oh wait I don't have the money to hire help!!!

Other than that our colors are Black and Red playing on our Alma Mater colors from Texas Tech University. I wanted a Black and White wedding, but thought I should add some color!

We are getting married on September 13, 2008 in Spring, Texas (Outside Houston).

I love my fiancee and am so excited to become his wife!

Our wedding was scheduled for 9.13.08, but due to Hurricane Ike we are pushing it back. We were hoping that we could still do it this upcoming weekend (9/20/08), but the power all through out Houston is still out. We also felt that with all those families that had to evacuate the coastal region and Galveston will still need to be sheltered in the local hotels, so our out of town guests would not be able to find rooms.

Our tentative date is October 4^th. With the church still not having power it has been hard to contact them to see if this will work. So far the latest news is that it’s open, but once the church is reopened they will confirm. Most of our vendors are also available on the 4^th which is GREAT! I am still waiting to hear back from our photographer to confirm, but last conversation that I had with him on 9/11/08 he said that Oct 4^th was his nearest availability!

My HUSBAND and I did go ahead and get married on 9/13/08 with a very small and quick ceremony at 12:45 am…in hurricane force winds! His parents who we were riding the storm out with were also hosting friends who evacuated from the coast, of which the husband was a pastor. He agreed to marry us so that we would not have to get a new marriage license (ours would have expired on the 20^th), and so we could officially LIVE together!!! It was nice and I will post pics as soon as power is restored and I can get them from my MIL’s camera!

One of the reason we are doing the wedding and reception at the church is to save money on decorations...we are using several of their items:

Candleabra (2) - You can also see the "screen" are you using behind it!

Unity Candle Stand - Sorry pic is horrible I took it with my phone:

Candle Stand (10) - These have glass votive holders that go in the cup. We are lining the aisle with these...the church also has several (10) of the shorter ones we migh also use but not sure where.

Iron Cross - The cross as holders for 33 tealights all over it (again cell pic :( ):

So I thought these ribbon bouquets were ugly and didn't understand their purpose until I aske dmy PW ladys. I gatered up as many ribbons and bows as I could from some the gifts we had recieve (threw away most from the shower!!!) and got to work! I did have to cheat a little because all the bows from gifts were from BBB (Bed Bath and Beyond) and all looked the same! I bought 3 curly ribbon bows and added them in.

Out cake will be 4 teirs with Red and Black Ribbon (Red on top of Black) with "pearls" on the cake
