Welcome to the life of David and Yvette Travers. We met June 29, 2008 as we took our first stroll down South Street together the night our two friends introduced us, who are now married. We were friends for a few months before falling into a great relationship and after a few short months we knew we wanted to get married. One of our first dates was to a friends wedding and that was the night that did it. Everyone there thought we were engaged and we werent even officially dating.
It feels like we have already been together 10 years and its only been a few. Our relationship is really strong and we spend alot of time just getting closer. We are very blessed and spend alot of time enjoying life as a family with my stepdaughter.
We are getting married at The Chestnut Club in Philadelphia. We cant wait to have good time and spend our special day with our family and friends. It's really going to be a fun event filled with class, life, excitment and a million smiles.
We're so excited and I'm beaming from ear to ear. We booked our wedding venue today at the beautiful Chestnut Club in Center City Philadelphia, PA. This site is gorgeous and the perfect blend between worlds. One side shows a strong old architectural theatre style, as it was the first theatre in Philadelphia. The other gives the vibe of a NY Style Loft that’s great for the cocktail hour. We fell in love with this place as soon as we saw it because it defined us as a couple, our style and infused the intimate feel we want for our wedding day. The staff is excellent and I've heard nothing but good reviews from prior brides. It's also in the heart of the city where we met and share many fun nights out at different places. I can't wait for the venue to come alive on our wedding night. I've copied a few pics from their website

Both myself and my fiancé lost two great people in our lives that we are disappointed they can't be with us to share our happiness on our wedding day. We are not sad as we know they are in the best place in the world but we just wish we could have them here for this one very special day. We'd like to honor them by wearing charms in their memory. My fiancé loss his grandmother in 2006 and it was hard for him t go on without having her in his life as she meant so much to him. She was his mom, grandmom, best friend and cheerleader all balled into one. I lost my father in 2009 and I miss him so much. I am the baby of the family so of course I was spoiled the most by my parents and my siblings. I was his "babydoll" as he used to call me. So we'd both like to feel their presence along with God's on our wedding day and give thanks and honor to them. My charm will be placed on my bouquet wrapped into the ribbon and his will be worn on the pocket of his suit jacket with his boutonniere. After the wedding we will add them to pieces of jewelry. his will be worn as a necklace and mine as a charm on a bracelet.
Thanks Bum-Bum and Daddy for all that you taught us, giving us all your love and teaching us to be the two strong individuals we have become. You will forever live in our hearts and we will make sure our kids know all about the two people they didn’t have a chance to meet. Thanks to our parents that are still with us and will be there to support us on our important day.
So our colors are pink, purple, black, and white. I took this color scheme and set up and altered it a little to fit us but I think it will be cool. Especially once we add our special touches. I want their to be a thousand candles everywhere to also make it feel very intimate and close.

My turn
Im a clothing designer so of course I tend to sway toward handmade things. I wanted to add some small touches to the day that would make for great kepsakes to incorporate into our home once we were married. I love the pearl details that will be throughout the day because I think pearls are so classic and elegant. Etsy is one of my favorite sites and one of the places most of our special touches will come from. Here are a few.

Some inspiration pictures of decor, color story and feel of the day.
I love these dresses sooo much. I've been watching TwoBirds for the last two years and how they've grown from one location to many. They've been featured on David Tutera, in magazines, and these were worn by Alyssa Milano in this color which is the same color my ladies will be wearing. I cant wait to see them all wrapped in different ways. I love that they can wear these dresses again twisted differently and for many occassions. I want to buy one just because they are so cute.
I am a very DIY Bride being a fashion designer. I was actually inspired by portfolio wedding invites I seen another bride do on Project Wedding. I really want our wedding to have our special touches. So here's my test run at our invitations that will be sealed and wrapped in Damask Printed wrapping paper in the end and mailed out. These are just the samples. The insides to the portfolios will be pink like the picture below.
So we found out late September the beautiful Chestnut Club was closing as of 12/31/11 so they would no longer be able to host our event. :(((( I know super sad face because everything was built around this and save the dates and invitations had been printed. We did by the power of god find another place for a great price and were able to book right away. So our event will now be held at the lovely Arts Ballroom still in Center City Philadelphia. We're very excited and cant wait for it to get here. It still jas that offbeat city vibe, and diamond in the rough found in the middle of town where you wouldnt expect it. We love it and cant wait to have our beautiful event.
Sooooo, i really wanted a funky dress for the reception and this dress stayed true to my style.........short and chic. Fitting for the season, my style and my body type. This beautiful Tadashi Shoji was found at Nordstrom in a one of the new Bridal Suites. It will go beautifully with my pink shoes.
I love accessories and i wanted something special and me. Im very different and like to stand out. I want to look back at my photos and feel like i kept everything as true to us as possible. I decided to top off my dress with hot pink shoes that will add a pop to my ensemble.
I know we're America's Favorite Team and also the most hated. My Fiance and I are Cowboys Fans so I decided to make my something blue a Cowboys garter. I decided to ave fun with tis tradition and pay respects to the boys. Go Cowboys
We took some great shots in Philly where we met with the bridge that connects our two states where we born, NJ and PA. It was rainy but turned out well. Courtesy of Lurey Photography
I love my David Yurman ring because it is off the beaten path as I am. I love the traditional engagement rings on others but it doesnt fit my style or long finger. I really wanted a chunky ring that fit my personality. This Champagne Citrine Pave David Yurman did just that. Im excited my FH found a ring he likes alot and it looks similar to my ring and band. Its a very different ring for a groom and stylish. I love it!
I love all the small touchs I have made that will be seen around the venue the day of our wedding. The evening will truly feel like us. I didnt want to have typical card boxes so i bought these birdcages which was the first item I came across when starting our wedding journey.
Sooooo happy we just booked our honeymoon to beautiful Jamaica. Im so excited and cant wait to relax. This is going to be such a beautiful two weeks. Thanks to our travel agent t hat found the best place in our price range. I was sold on the built in chairs inside the pool.
