Hello. This is NOT the number to reach a country location ---->206 949 0655<----- Not the phone number so why list it as this number? This company either does not exist anymore or they need to get their act together and update/change their phone number on the website and information pages. That is all.

I feel horrible about rating this place so bad because it is a STUNNING venue! If you are looking for a country feel with lots of outdoor space then this place is perfect! I really loved this venue and can not say enough great things about the location, set up, and look of the place!
However, the owners are tired and no longer seem to love what they do. Be prepared to remain calm when working with them, on occasion to hear back from them if you have to leave a message or email them, bare with the complaining and sarcasm. They mentioned a few times that this will be their last wedding which I am sad to see because it really is a phenomenal venue. Forrest and Marilynn have taken great physical care of this place! It is lovely and perfect for your country wedding just be prepared to work with two owners who are very tired and ready to retire.

Pros: Marylin was generous with her time, allowed for multiple viewings during times I visited from out of town. And worked with me on payments. And of course... The beautiful setting and memorable wedding.

Cons: I felt like an unwanted guest when it came to the finicky ways everything needed to be handled. I had to tell the caterer to take dirty dishes with them instead of cleaning them there. The husband and helper (son?) helped themselves to very large plates of food before my guests were served, they even drank our wine!

BIGGEST CON: we had 4 cases of wine (2 red And 2 white) and shortly into the reception I (the bride) was asked where the other case of white went. It was found in a closet! The ONLY explanation is a staff on the property took it and his $600 worth of wine. Be careful on this, because in the hustle of the day things like this are easy to get away with.

Last- it was pouring rain and we had to ask to get water mopped under the so I wouldn't drag my dress through it. I wish they had more help to pick up on these needs when every minute is slipping by.

This venue is hands down, the most beautiful place that we looked at! Our guests had a wonderful time wandering the grounds, playing croquet and horseshoes and enjoying the gorgeous scenery!

Though the venue's front-woman was pretty much unavailable by email, she always anwers her phone, so our recomendation is never try to contact via email, always by phone! She's also a bit scattered, but is very kind and sociable!

The day of our wedding everything was set-up exactly per our request and the furniture changeover (ceremony chairs being moved to the tables under the tent) was so quick that I never even saw it happen!

Overall, our experience at A Country Location was fabulous, just make sure that you are the type of person who is able to be very clear about your needs and expectations and keep record of your payments, etc...

Thank you to Marilyn and her staff for helping to make our wedding day beautiful, relaxed, and fun!

The owner made the bride cry 10 seconds before walking down the aisle, because the owner failed to get the permit taken care of for the caterers in the 2 months she had, to take care of everything with the bride.

There were a bunch of other shitty things that I will not go into that I experienced and heard about all day long being in the wedding party. All in all, the staff was awesome, the owners were just plain rude all day long.

As part of the catering team, I can't comment on all the categories, but on the wedding day, professionalism was definitely lacking.
The owner seems to consider the location more of a home than a business. The kitchen space and storage was not large, but was adequate to the small size of the wedding (less than 100 total). However, there were food items left in freezer by the owner, leaving less storage space for the wedding food supplies. The refrigerator did not have much depth or space, so only the most necessary things could chill prior to serving.
The owner warned multiple times that the oven was slow to warm up and quick to over-cook, so we had to keep a close eye on food to avoid burning. Perhaps a more user-friendly commercial oven is in order?
We were also told on arriving that we would have to keep water usage to a minimum as they were having problems with the septic system. The owner even told us we might have to use the hose outside for large amounts of dishwashing.
The owner seemed overly protective of furniture items, and did not seem open to their use as a typical cost of doing business with large groups. She sternly warned multiple staff and guests that no items with water were to be set on wooden surfaces, as it would be too much of a hassle for her to maintain the setting should water marks appear.
Maintaining the rest of the area did not seem to be a priority, as the garden beds that might otherwise have been a lovely part of the landscape were overgrown with weeds and grasses.
The owner also seemed to think that she was entitled to help herself to the food we prepared for the wedding, and her husband did as well. She continually wandered the reception and kitchen area eating freely.
In all, this location is undeniably beautiful with the lake area, and could certainly have a lot of potential as a wedding venue, but the lack of professionalism with the current ownership is a definite disappointment.

A country Location is probably one of the most gorgeous locations to have your wedding in the Seattle area. They have tables, chairs, and a tent so you don't have to rent that extra, which is very nice. The only downfall was that you only get 9 hours for your wedding, and that includes set up and tear down. We made it work and I got a ton of compliments on the location, I just wish we would have had a little more time.

We were married at A Country Location this past summer and had a great experience working with Marilyn and her family. They were beyond flexible with all of our requests and extremely accommodating from beginning to end.

In the first month or two after booking, there were some communication problems, but that was due to some management changes and was quickly resolved. I noticed other people's reviews of this venue have not all been positive, and I would like to say that the owners have read the reviews as well. I addressed my concerns with them upfront, and they admitted they had read the reviews and were making appropriate changes. Once I heard their side of the story however, I will say that the clients who had written such negative reviews did seem to be quite demanding.

Anyways, this venue is BEAUTIFUL! We had SO many compliments from guests who said they had never been to a wedding in such a beautiful location. And you can sure save money on your flower and decoration budget- not much is needed in this gorgeous space! If I could put 10 stars for Value for Cost, I would. We got married on a Friday, and the total cost was $3400 for 2pm-11pm (A few vendors were allowed to go out around noon to start setting up). This price included the rental fee, tent, tables, chairs, pub tables, set up and tear down, use of sound equipment, etc. Many extras! I did end up renting different chairs, but the owners were very nice in helping out with the drop off of the chairs, set up, and transfer to the tent after the ceremony, and pick up the next day.

For brides, the bridal suite on the top floor of the barn was the best one out of all of the country type places we viewed. It's large, airy, and had plenty of room for me and my wedding party, makeup artists, stylists, etc. There is a large bathroom with clawfoot tub, great for pictures :) There is also a deck where you can look out over everything which was very fun. I could peek out and see my husband-to-be getting his photos taken, guests arriving, etc.

All in all, we could not have chosen a more perfect place to get married. We had a fantastic experience and everyone had a great time.

This was such a beautiful place to have a wedding outdoors. Everything flowed so well and there were so many activities to do while you were there. We got a lot of compliments on our choice for location from our guests, with a lot saying "this has been the best wedding I have been to." Such a beautiful place. Now all they need is a new owner that doesn't unnecessarily stress you out. She was a serious control freak. Was rude to my family members and guests when really she just needed to back off. Also made my family pick up all the paper dots that were on tables after the wedding even though part of her services were to have a cleaning crew afterwards, that we payed a pretty penny for. She is in the wrong business, but if someone else took over, it would have been the best experience ever. Oh, she also threatened to tow one of our guests cars for not being in the right spot in the parking area.

This venue is absolutely stunning! The most gorgeous scenery. The owners are very down to earth and friendly. They helped me with staging and were very nice to work with. Also, you can make and bring your own food there or use whatever caterer you'd like. That was a huge bonus for us! The only negative thing I have to say is that sometimes it was hard to get a hold of Marilyn (the owner) via e-mail. It's best to call her. Everything else was wonderful. I would highly reccomend this place to anyone and everyone! You will not regret it.
